bluebeau Posted 2 July 2009 Posted 2 July 2009 Just seen on Sky Sports that Watford have accepted a £1.8m bid from a un-named Championship club, for striker Tommy Smith. Putting 2 & 2 together, could the un-named club be City? It seems to make sense IMO. We were obviously trying to bring a proven goal scorer to the football club, i.e. Simon Cox, the fee £1.8m seems to be around the sort of price MM would be willing to part with, & this week MM admitted they were trying to bring a striker in. Anyone heard anything more positive? He was Watfords player of season 2008/2009
Dan Posted 2 July 2009 Posted 2 July 2009 I saw this and thought of posting it, but didn't bother because i'm quite sure it will be Burnley or Reading. The bit below the title made me laugh ''Un-named club lead race for Smith'' - well who in the world does that help? Absolutely no one.

In fact, I think he generally plays out wide as opposed to up front.
richardsfoxes Posted 2 July 2009 Posted 2 July 2009 Will not be us, Milan would of opened his big mouth by now.
alex Posted 2 July 2009 Posted 2 July 2009 He netted 17 last season in a largely struggling side. I wonder if this could be Tuncay's replacement at Boro? Or could it be Citeh?

And you've been wrong from the start because they are now a PREMIERSHIP team. Did not notice Championship Erm, QPR or possibly even a return to Derby. I don't remember seeing 'Championship' club, just an 'un-named' club, but then I could have missed that... Same, my prediction is ^^^
