East-Stand Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 The Franchise fans have tipped me off down the pub tonight that their skipper was left out today as he is due to sign for us when Mattock leaves Their OS suggests he was ill but rumour has it he will be signing next week only a rumour but living in MK I rarely get much City gossip hence the lack of posts!
Flynny Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Doubt it, but would quite like it. We don't have enough luminous ginger players.
BedsFox Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Would be a fantastic signing. A real leader, and hard as nails Believe it when I see it!
David Guiza Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Would be a great buy if it happened. Much better then Mattock. And he looks like Ronald McDonald what more can you ask for?
Toby or not Toby Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Suprised Di Matteo didn't attempt to sign him over Mattock
Jay Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Suprised Di Matteo didn't attempt to sign him over Mattock except he isn't the one pulling the strings at WBA, They have a recruitment team or something in place and Di Matteo is only the Head Coach not a Manager which suggests while he would have some say but the overall recruitment is handled by someone else
flanimal Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 I guess we have Berner, then the only cover in that position is a 40something coach, so it would be a decent signing.
David Guiza Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 I guess we have Berner, then the only cover in that position is a 40something coach, so it would be a decent signing. O'Neil can play both left and right back can't he? Would still be a good signing though.
Cropwellfox Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 MK Dons forums have got themselves in a right flap about this. Probably nothing more than one of their lot found something on this forum about it, they believe it's true, spend 3 pages discussing it, therefore yet another completely unfounded rumour is born. That said he'd be an excellent addition to our squad, future captain.
Guest Bilo Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 One of my friends went to school with him AND he is the only player who has been there since the move to Milton Keynes. Both true stories. Moving on to more relevant matters, he wouldn't be a bad signing so long as we didn't pay silly money. Competitive, strong and decent moving forward. He certainly looked fairly strong against us at their place.
Ozwin Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Berner, as much a I love the bloke, was probably our weakest link today. I'd happily see this guy come in.
CosbehFox Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 That IMO was one of Berner's finest games at the club.
Granno Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Berner, as much a I love the bloke, was probably our weakest link today. I'd happily see this guy come in. Seriously? You thought that Bruno Berner was the weakest link? Today? Fair do's.
Ozwin Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Obviously not then haha. Just strikes me as a bit nervy sometimes and makes me nervous.
Lcfc1884 Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 except he isn't the one pulling the strings at WBA, They have a recruitment team or something in place and Di Matteo is only the Head Coach not a Manager which suggests while he would have some say but the overall recruitment is handled by someone else They do have a recuitment team but they are all Di matteo's signings. The recuitment find clips f god and bad points from names given from scouts. Ruban Reid for example he wanted him for MK Dons.
Unabomber Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Berner, as much a I love the bloke, was probably our weakest link today. I'd happily see this guy come in. He won a pen and made an assist while looking solid against two fcking quick wingers. He was far from the weakest link.
maddog Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Obviously not then haha.Just strikes me as a bit nervy sometimes and makes me nervous. Berner was superb today. He's one of the players in our side that doesn't make me nervous. He was very solid when defending, set up Waghorn goal, won us the peno, didn't look tired at the end. I think he deserves more credit for his performances last season aswell, because he's so solid every game he's rarely noticed, especially last season when even the midfield bagged loads of goals. Another amazing signing by NP.
Bryn Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Thought Berner looked tidy today but I would definitely take Lewington.
Calum McDermott Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Berner, as much a I love the bloke, was probably our weakest link today. I'd happily see this guy come in. Clearly you werent watching morrison.
haraven Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 He looks like one of the older brothers of that mate of Harry Potter ,that ginger one...
Ozwin Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 I didn't realise Berner got the assist, I take back my statement. I'm probably being picky anyway, just always have a nervous opinion about the left back spot for some reason.
Koke Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 After the Martin Allen fiasco, Franchise owe us this one. We took Dyer and we'll take Lewington as well, and then we'll call it even. We definitely need a left back.
