MPH Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Thought Bernie looked tidy today but I would definitely take Lewington. you mean he had a wash?
Bert Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Berner, as much a I love the bloke, was probably our weakest link today. I'd happily see this guy come in. I know it was hard to see him yesterday, but Andy King was playing.
Jimmy Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 we definatly do need another left back, Chris Powell has said he's basically registered for emergencies only, can't see this lad coming cheap as their captain and they ain't exactly poor as a club, maybe signing Michael Ball who's available for free and allow the money to be spent else where would be the better option
Legend_in_blue Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Difficult one this. Powell will do a more than adequate job in an emergency. No doubt of that. Berner is a clever, tidy player but he'll struggle to keep up the consistency needed for a full campaign surely? Lewington is another tough player and we could certainly benefit from another of those. We've been crying out for a nutter for years and have Brown now, so add another one. One thing is for sure, all the above are better than Mattock.
Fox92 Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Berner was great today but I would take Lewington. Not sure if he'd leave though, having been there for all his life including Wimbledon!
eaststandtom Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 That IMO was one of Berner's finest games at the club. agreed i thought berner played very well. i wouldnt feel so pissed off about mattock if we were able to get lewington in. he is a good player.
Webbo Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Berner's 1 of the most reliable players we have. I can't really remember him ever having a mare.
dandannieldanok Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Lewington would be a very decent signing in my opinion, always rated him.
Bryn Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 you mean he had a wash? Haha, no idea where I got Bernie from! Rest assured it's not a lame nickname I intend to use for Berner.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 You stay away from our Deano  --------------------------------------- Edit - He was missing with Flu, same as several members of our squad, this is not a cover story, he dismissed going to Fulham, why go to a Championship club?
Jimmy Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 You stay away from our Deano  no, but in return we will send you 2 strikers of your choosing so long as they are from the following, P Dickov, D Campbell or R Sappleton
flanimal Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Anyone honestly think Leicester will sign anyone else before the deadline? I mean, aside from loans.
Jimmy Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Anyone honestly think Leicester will sign anyone else before the deadline? I mean, aside from loans. maybe but it won't be a big name, probably a promising youngster from lower league or a journey man just to give more depth
flanimal Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 I think the squad is alright, could probably do with another fullback. Maybe a goalkeeper. And of course a big striker in case Howard gets crippled. If Kermo is signable, the squad is pretty much sorted.
Jimmy Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 speaking of keepers with Stockport in admin, Owain fon Williams wouldn't cost much
Ozwin Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 It struck me that our squad isn't that big yesterday when lined up alongside Swanseas on the back of the programme.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Wouldn't say no. Expect Red on Red to pop up on this topic.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 no, but in return we will send you 2 strikers of your choosing so long as they are from the following, P Dickov, D Campbell or R Sappleton I'd take DJ Cambell for a league one any day. Just leave lewie be and we will take him off your hands
theoxonfox Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Lewington was ill so they say,i would rather have McGivern, more versatile, left back, central defender, left sided midfielder and a full international!
Bryn Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 speaking of keepers with Stockport in admin, Owain fon Williams wouldn't cost much Will only move for first team football. I think another fullback and perhaps a backup goalie. Weale is the real deal (), trust me. And a striker but we know that they're likely to still be looking at that. Don't see a reason for any panic buys though, maybe hold back the Mattock funds til our situation is clearer in January, I think in the lower leagues January is a more effective window than it is in the PL.
Candidcamera Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Interesting situation but O'Neil may be the best option. He seems to have already started the stepping up process. I would give him the chance.
Vlad The Impaler Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Interesting situation but O'Neil may be the best option. He seems to have already started the stepping up process. I would give him the chance. Yeah, but he's RB
Flynny Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 It struck me that our squad isn't that big yesterday when lined up alongside Swanseas on the back of the programme. "Tight knit".
The Doctor Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 "Tight knit". "portuguse Ian Holloway at swansea"
CosbehFox Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Yeah, but he's RB He fills in at LB often. Did during the pre-season friendlies anyways.
