Edmund Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Sheehan will still be a hot topic after he has retired as long as Thracian is still posting.
eleven points Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Sheehan is worse that's right WORSE at defending than McGivern.
Thracian Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 I seriously don't understand why Adams hasn't had a look in this season. We've been crying out for a winger who can run at defenders and create and score chances, yet we had 2 of them and farmed them both out. Pearson's refusal to give fringe players a chance when the incumbents aren't performing is what has driven the likes of DJ, Gradel and Adams out of this club. Meanwhile, we're left with the hapless Oakley and Gallagher supposedly on the wings doing absolutely nothing of any note, game in game out. The more I think about it the more pi ssed off I get.And before people say it's because they're not up to standard etc, how can we tell if they're not given a decent run in the team? Both Oakley and Gallagher have had so many chances to impress this season but achieved nothing, and Adams gets 2 minute cameos if he's lucky. Sometimes you write something that makes me wonder why we've constantly been at loggerheads.
syston_fox Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Sheehan made goals, scored goals, had a hand in goals, was second in most shots chart, and delivered consistently dangerous fre-kicks and corners in The Championship. Any one of those things would be a collectors item from any of our current full-backs. Correct me if im wrong here but he scored one league goal in his career with us and that was a poor free kick that was deflected in. Bruno has already contributed more goals than that in his short time at the club and is a better defender.

I wasn't aware that Berner was even an available option just now and if we're not in the habit of quoting Fryatt's goals contribution in terms of League and Cup then I don't see why it should be applied to Sheehan. Quite apart from the basic stats Sheehan was forever contributing to goal chances and havoc in the opposing goalmouth and however you may wish to dilute that we get nothing like that sort of contribution from any of our back four now - including Berner who is not any sort of dead ball specialist for a start. That's not to say I don't wish Berner was fit and available because he has been sadly missed and there is no question that he makes an effort to get forward and can be quite effective.
eleven points Posted 28 January 2010 Posted 28 January 2010 Tom Parkes got an assist tonight for Burton in their 1-0 win over Lincoln, seemed to be getting forward a bit from reading the bbc live text. Sounds like he might of been playing left back, got his assist from a cross on the left.

The goal was off a free-kick, ball cleared, Parkes collected and crossed. Played cb. I didn't go tho. I'll say again Thrac....a Swindon fan felt the need to declare Sheehan the worst left back ever at his club on national television! You never mention his defensive weaknesses or his temperament - hone debut and red card remember?

I didn't go tho.I'll say again Thrac....a Swindon fan felt the need to declare Sheehan the worst left back ever at his club on national television! You never mention his defensive weaknesses or his temperament - hone debut and red card remember? Of course I remember it - and one or two more. I also remember how often Rooney was sent off in his younger days. I have also mentioned his defensive weaknesses on countless occasions - problems that are not unusual in countless defenders - and have wondered why both failings have not been ironed out by his coaches. As for the fan's view I would confidently bet that I've watched Sheehan far more times than he has and while I cannot vouch for the quality of Swindon's left-backs over the years (non of whom spring to mind) I could readily have shown him worse ones had he cared to accompany me to The Walkers either now or anytime over the last few years.
dpjfox Posted 28 January 2010 Posted 28 January 2010 Chambers was an unused sub as Norwich hammered WycombeKee played 10 mins as a sub when Stanny lost 3-1 Verma & Worley played the full 90 while Crewe won 1-0 Hamilton got beat 3-0 by Aberdeen with Weso playing the full 90 noticed the otherday Sappleton scored for Mac Kee for Accrington McKay for Northampton
CosbehFox Posted 28 January 2010 Posted 28 January 2010 As for the fan's view I would confidently bet that I've watched Sheehan far more times than he has I am sure he can say the same but applying it to Sheehan actually playing in competitive, senior, league Football.

The amount of times you've seen someone/something doesn't mean your view turns from opinion to fact. I've watched Blackadder hundreds of times and I think it is the greatest comedy of all time - but it doesn't mean someone that watches it a handful of times and thinks it's crap has a lesser opinion
CosbehFox Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 Adams set up one and had another cleared off the line on Saturday and tonight he featured for 77 minutes in a 5-0 demolition of Bristol Rovers. Since he's been at Orient they won 3 and drew the other.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 Adams was involved in two goals too, he's making a really good impression there.
Guest Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 Adams was involved in two goals too, he's making a really good impression there. Spoke to a mate of mine who's a massive Orient fan, absolutely raves about the guy, would love to keep him on judging by the first few games he's played

Messi Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 mmmm all at MASSIVE clubs!! Well there only young so its a learning curve for them, what clubs do you expect them to be at?
Simo86 Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 Well there only young so its a learning curve for them, what clubs do you expect them to be at? Only one of them is actually our player
Jimmy Posted 3 February 2010 Author Posted 3 February 2010 think if we kept the system we played against Newcastle Adams would flourish as the attacking cm of the 3
