StanSP Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Overall I am very pleased. A good draw at a very hard place to go, where many teams wont get a point. And Posh and Forest lost! Get in...
Uncle Albert Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 5 points against 3 good Championship sides! Great stuff.
Corky Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 I'd have taken a point beforehand, and I'll take a point now. Solid start, seen out two away games with decent performances, hopefully we can get a win against Barnsley.
StanSP Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 And Derby can only manage to draw. And Cov lost their winning start. Drew 0-0
Collymore Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 This is nice to hear A word on Leicester - very well organised, passed the ball well and looked tactiaclly very good. One of the best Championship sides I've seen at the lane in the last few years and deserve a lot of credit for just how desperate they made our play look at times http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=4...;mid=2124920324
Cropwellfox Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 There's no way DJ will play for the club again. If, and it is an if, NP is concerned about Fryatt's fitness in addition to Waghorn and Howard being injured we'll have at least one new striker in by Saturday. Could even be one on loan and a permanent signing. Better we have this situation now rather than the week after the window closes. In Nige we trust

fatboy Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 is he out of contract now? Yann Kermorgant is a free agent, hope he puts in a blinder for the reserves 2mrw
flanimal Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 If DJ returned and played well, and scored... he'd become my new best player!
fox123 Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 I'd have taken a point beforehand, and I'll take a point now.Solid start, seen out two away games with decent performances, hopefully we can get a win against Barnsley. Yep very happy with that, I'd have taken a point too. I'd have also taken 5 points and still be in the cup at the start of the season. A good confident start is what we have needed, carrying on the momentum from last season and we can build on this like you say (hopefully) with a win against Barnsley on Saturday.
Kilworthfox Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 On my bb so apologies if mistakes! 2 points lost! Anyone who says otherwise did not go tonight. We were a goal up deservidly even though it was a deflection and a tap in, but we were well worthy as we were all over them for 55 minutes from my drunk position! They only livened up when we dreopped deeper for no reason at all. It baffles me as to why we drop deep when we can clearly out pass teams and keep the ball, we just ended up lobbing the ball out aty evewry opertunity. We deserbed to concede because of our approach after we conceded! 2 points lost and I am pissed off.
Cropwellfox Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Yann Kermorgant is a free agent, hope he puts in a blinder for the reserves 2mrw don't think he's match fit yet? That's be the same problem with DJ even if Pearson did thaw, and I cannot see NP thinking Dickov could lead the line in the Championship...
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 And Cov lost their winning start. Drew 0-0 Cov always get off to a good start because they always get an easy start. I would only consider playing Dickov if he told NP he will play, and play for the shirt rather than play and do fook all. 3 strikers are injured but I cannot believe for one minute that they are all out for a while. Hopefully Fryatt has just a knock and Howard has pulled a muscle and wil be ready in a few days. Waghorns sounded the most serious, but I'm sure one of those 3 at least will be in the squad on Saturday. Barnsley have had a terrible start and we should be looking to win this easily regardless of fit strikers. I am concerned at Wellens though. Yes he is a great player and was the boss of midfield for most the game tonight, but he now has 3 bookings I think, so he needs to be careful or he will be out for the first game of September at this rate.
Hackneyisblue Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Yann Kermorgant is a free agent, hope he puts in a blinder for the reserves 2mrw I thought he was well short of match fitness and nobody expected anthing till September As Berner
DeclanMC Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 don't think he's match fit yet? That's be the same problem with DJ even if Pearson did thaw, and I cannot see NP thinking Dickov could lead the line in the Championship... Pearson might have no choice!
Tevez Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Absolute unstoppable goal from Sheff United other than that they didn't threat much. N guessan was poor, Neilson was shaky but his throws give us another attacking option. Wellens was the buzz of the side tonight, gets the ball and passes about. A shame for Tunchev, because Brown and Hobbs were also good tonight. Oh and Mark Bunn, your a c unt.

Lillehamring Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 if 2 of the 3 strikers are out for saturday, i really wouldn't be surprised if dickov plays... pretty sure it won't lead to a permanent signing, as none of them sound like long term injuries - so a loan signing is pretty likely - wouldn't be surprised if it's someone fairly handy from a relatively big club.... ooh, is heskey playing much these days... if so, i suggest he becomes the star of a 15 page thread overnight!
BoneDog Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Typical of us, can't hold a fooking lead. Why did we sign that shite keeper ? You've got to be joking!! I reckon so. Anyways, if we can get this striker situation sorted out and sign one or two this month then we are in with a great chance of success this season. For too long we have not had enough quality up front and it's been our only problem imo. I'm happy with Howard, Fryatt and Waghorn but we need one or two more and we'll have a solid team. Happy with the point tonight but a bit disappointing not to win after the dominance we had. As said above, why bother starting to sit deeper when everything has been going so well? Stick to what's been working best
Unabomber Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Well the untill we scored it was one of the best performances I have seen for a while. Especially considering Howard going off. As soon as we scored they battered us, and although we should have scored a couple in the first half, it was a relatively fair result. Great point at a tough place to go, but we should start turning these sterling away performances into wins.
foxoffderby Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 just got back from work. Didn't know the result till 10 mins ago. Im so proud of the the team cant tell u. Was expecting a convincing defeat. Wow so shocked comon city. The only thing is now my expectations have gonne up up big time after ipswich and now sheff u. Lets get 3 points aganist Barnsley and crack on. Blue army!!!!
StanSP Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Play the Tunch up front on Saturday!! Tunch and N'Guessan upfront. Gradel/Dyer on one wing. Adams on the other.
