leicesterfox86 Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 OK it's only three games, but we're 8th, which is the highest league position we've held in over five years I reckon. I think I'm right in saying that our four years in the Champo saw us languishing in the bottom half pretty much permanently. On top of that by pretty much all accounts we're playing decent football, we're built on a sound defence, have a great midfield, options on the flank, and a useful attack, if one man light. Kudos to all at LCFC for restoring the pride in our Club. It must be mighty tempting to push the boat out on a striker who could get us 20 goals this season, not that anything is guaranteed. That's no disrespect intended to what we have already. Happy days indeed. Long may they last Very pleased with the start. There is a long way to go, but it looks as though we have a group of capable players that are determined to do well. This is all we can ask for. We are not expecting promotion, but a season where we are pushing the play-offs rather than fighting relegaton would be very welcome.
harpendenfox Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 Good post. I think 5 points out of the first 3 games is very good, something we would have all taken. I am slightly annoyed we didnt win one of Ipswich and United but, like I say I would have taken two draws before the game. I think we will easily beat Barnsley as they havent scored against us this decade while we have won all meetings home and away. Being a Leicester fan that's what worries me. We've beaten Barnsley loads in recent years, they're bottom. What could possibly go wrong..........
Durnerz Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 As long as we keep picking up points on the road at difficult places like Portman Road and Bramall lane and make our home games count we won't go far wrong. Very impressed with our performance (ok, I know I listened on the radio) but with the comments as well backing it up even from fans of the opposition it looks very bright for us this season, we have the right mix of youth and experience and a side who want to work for one another which is the biggest thing we've missed for a number of seasons now (bar last season of course) I would much rather us get a striker in on loan with the mindset of the other guys or give an academy striker a chance than play DJ Campbell against Barnsley to keep to momentum flowing.
AyewJoking Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 Good result IMO. I thought we'd lose away to Ipswich and Sheff Utd so its a bonus 2 points and good for team morale

The Doctor Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 not good. waghorn and howard both hamstring injuries. Link
C-man Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 Nige "We've dropped four points in the space of four days which is disappointing but there are plenty of positives as well."
BedsFox Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 is this confirmed both Waghorn and Howard out for a month?
Kilworthfox Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 Sheff U msg board The also love our central midfield Up their own arse, we are only drawing with the likes of Leicester
Matt Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 Bloody hell, some of them have never heard that before? I like keeping the "ARRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHH" going for along time though.
Tilley Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 Brown is a no nonsense animal and is an absolute rock. As Tevez said, Tunchev will struggle to get in this team, Hobbs & Brown are solid. Bruno Berner is great at left back, the guy is calm on and off the ball and he shows his experience, ecspecially in sticky situtions. Neilson on the other hand I am very unconvinced with. Wellens is a cracking signing, him and Oakley look a decent central midfield pairing. Adams looks lively and a completely different player to last season but the same as our right hand side of defence, I was not impressed with N'Guessan at all, he looked clueless at times. Think Fryatt is looking closer to full fitness but we desperately need to get a new striker or use what we have (Campbell) Overall, I am pleased to be coming away from grounds like Bramall Lane disappointed with a point.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 I like the fact they seem to think we are ona par with S****horpe, as they 'should be beating teams like the likes of Leicester!' Arrogant bastards!

The Doctor Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 is this confirmed both Waghorn and Howard out for a month? looks like it The strikers both suffered hamstring injuries and there are fears that they could be ruled out for several weeks.
Katy Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 I like the fact they seem to think we are ona par with S****horpe, as they 'should be beating teams like the likes of Leicester!'Arrogant bastards! They think because we've had season in League One that we've turned into Cambridge United (no offence) or something. Just let all these teams/fans think that, and then watch them weep as we turn them over.

Matches the attitude of some our fans re Barnsley at least Sheff U can refer to the fact we've come from a lower league I'm not sure what excuse some of our fans have.
