Reserves win 4-1 goals for ...

Reassuring to read about Campbell's goals. I'm almost surprised the OS hasn't been banned from mentioning his name. And that of Porter.

It's verging on scandalous that Campbell hasn't got a squad number, especially given our limited options up front and some of those who are on the list.

I guess the City set up is similar to Foxestalk. All is sweetness unless you have conflicting views to the prevailing self-styled intelligentsia (and friends) :D .

It was 4-1 btw.

It shall be sorted....

DJ showed no signs of being a stroppy git; he played well tonight, and deserved his goals. He read the line well, and I don't think he was shown an offside flag this evening. When he did lose the ball, he chased back well, which I was pleased to see. On tonight's showing, I would put him well ahead of Dickov.

I was also please with Kermo, who was bigger than I thought he would be, and played the 'Howard' role really well. If we could sign him, and use him as cover for Howard, I wouldn't be too disappointed based on this showing.

The youngsters played some really good football tonight, and Rowe-Turner, who has never impressed to date, looked more comfortable at centre-half. Levi came on in the second half, and although he showed some good touches, was clearly out of match practice. We did ease off slightly in the second half, another slight disappointment, but at the end of the day, it was comfortable, even if Sheffyoo pulled one back.

The attendance wasn't given out before we left, but it looked like just a couple of hundred. Apart from the website, I don't think this game was advertised anywhere else, although I could be mistaken. One interesting thing to note, the PA announcer said that this reserve cup was in a league format - interesting!!

They could have drummed up a hell of a lot more support for this. Bearing in mind that people have complained to the club about the lack of reserve team football/loss of FNF, tonight's showing isn't going to get them changing their minds. :(

That's a shame, as it was a really entertaining game.

Oh, and Robbie Burns looked like he'd dislocated his shoulder. I felt his pain!!

If DJ can't be moved back into the squad now - with three strikers injured - when can he?

I know you can't judge on one reserve fixture match, but Kermorgant and Campbell could be Leicester''s best duo. Campbell is as good a finisher as Fryatt, and way quicker; and Kermorgant has a lot to offer that Howard. Both of these guys should be in the squad if the main strikers are unfit. Playing Dickov to make a point is ridiculous, DJ could get us to the playoffs.

I wouldn't go that far, but I certainly wouldn't discount him. lol

DJ could turn us into Champions League material to be fair. He's scored twice in a reserve match so we should all change our opinions of him now. It would only be right.

You can't argue with the goals he got for Blackpool. Strike rate of 1 in 2. If he did that for us, I'd be surprised if we didn't finish top 8, considering the defence has been pretty sound.

But we all know DJ will probably never be brought back.

Put them in the squad v Barnsley.

I would too what other options do we really have? Anything is better than Dickov. It doesnt look like we are going to buy anybody at the moment.

:crylaugh: You really do chat some crap! Kermogant and Fryatt pl;ay one reserve match together and your suggesting they could be leicester's best duo is ridiculous! Youve never even seen Kermogant play!

Let's not forget the history with DJ Campbell.

1 reserve game doesn't earn you a place in the first team squad.

If he doesn't go to Blackpool, then i'd like to see him scoring goals like this for 3/4 games before being considered for first team duties.

I think he's only putting the effort in now, as he knows his move away is about to happen, and he's trying to get match sharp.

DJ made the goal for Kermo with some good wing play, cut in from the right and nice pull back. His first goal was made by Gradel cutting in from the left to square for DJ to score from 6 yards. DJ's second saw his pace come in to play as he beat the offside trap to hit into the bottom corner. Sheff Utd were poor though, and only came back into it after DJ was subbed at HT. Kermo is good in the air and his link up play is good....
