AjcW Posted 22 September 2009 Author Posted 22 September 2009 It really is brilliant, someone is talented as Steve Carell working off a script written by steven and ricky, it was never going to fail really was it.
Webbo Posted 22 September 2009 Posted 22 September 2009 Frasier > All other American comedy. Amen to that brother.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 22 September 2009 Posted 22 September 2009 The Wire makes all other TV drama look shit, which is a shame really as there are only 5 seasons of it and what are you supposed to do then? I watched a bit of Waking The Dead last night and although it's far from the worst crime drama I've seen, it just seems so unconvincing in comparison. All the slow motion nonsense, and flashbacks of dramatic incidents, just to make sure you appreciate how HARROWING something was - treating the viewer like a dunce, basically. As for comedy, I've always wondered why US animation so often hits the spot (Family Guy, Simpsons, South Park etc etc) whereas their live action stuff just leaves me cold for the most part (although I do like Flight of the Conchords and Curb Your Enthusiasm). Friends? If they were my friends, I'd set myself on fire
Fosse Boy Posted 22 September 2009 Posted 22 September 2009 It really is brilliant, someone is talented as Steve Carell working off a script written by steven and ricky, it was never going to fail really was it. They only wrote one episode of it I believe.
AjcW Posted 22 September 2009 Author Posted 22 September 2009 They only wrote one episode of it I believe. Sorry i wrote that wrong, meant to say following the concept of those two.
Uncle Albert Posted 22 September 2009 Posted 22 September 2009 All about Friends and Prison Break, they will never be beaten for me.
purpleronnie Posted 22 September 2009 Posted 22 September 2009 Two and a Half Men is the shittest programme in the world. Literally. It's awful. Even worst than Lab Rats. Agreed why its so popular is beyong me, maybe as it appeals to the lowest common denominator? Plus charlie sheen is the smarmiest, smuggest actor ever, he makes my skin crawl, ohhh I sleep around, ooh I cheat on my partner, I should be admired. Fook off you twat.

Fook off you twat. I think that's what annoys me so much, haha. It's like he's trying to convince women he's still sexy and cool and he just comes across as an utter cunt

Daggers Posted 22 September 2009 Posted 22 September 2009 The Big Bang Theory Family guy/ American Dad South Park Trueblood Sons of Anarchy Breaking Bad The Office Heroes Bullshit American TV > British TV I don't know why I have to pay for a licence fee, everything apart from Coronation Street is bollocks...and that is on ITV.
Alexikokopops Posted 22 September 2009 Posted 22 September 2009 I don't know why I have to pay for a licence fee, everything apart from Coronation Street is bollocks...and that is on ITV. What about the radio? License fee goes to that... Think? The place was built for me, the dog and The Archers.
Fox You Forest Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 Completely forgot about Heroes, easily done though after the weak third series. I've read they're making Panettiere's character a lesbian which will be enough on it's own to get me through another series.
lou Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 Is Tim Ross' Lie To Me back? No, neither is Tim Roths!

This series is ten time better, I know theres some people out there that will just think its mindless crap but I think its that, that makes it appealing and easy to watch.
Daggers Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 What about the radio? License fee goes to that... Radio only licences were abolished in February 1971. Radio is free.

Libertine Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 I tell you what I am a fan of since it started showing on E4 - How I Met Your Mother. Yeh they showed some on BBC a few months ago then suddenly stopped. Really like it, guilty pleasure albeit.
Samu Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 I tell you what I am a fan of since it started showing on E4 - How I Met Your Mother. Yes yes yes yes yes. Great show. Neil Patrick Harris who plays Barney is hilarious! It's a very simple but likeable comedy. I've just started watching Season 5 and it's just getting better and better!

Flynny Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 Not one of you bothered about House then? One of the best characters and best casts on TV even if the writing's slackened off a bit lately.
Samu Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 Apparently im Barney..... is that a good thing. Erm, well if you get half as many women as him then yes!
AjcW Posted 25 September 2009 Author Posted 25 September 2009 Just watched season 6 episode 2 of the office. Opening scene, Michael invites Oscar into the office to ask how he can make his impending colonoscopy more pleasurable for himself and the doctor lol
