C-man Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 If the ball is hit right, it allows us to gain some territory by getting a throw, or by one of our players picking up the second ball away from the centre of the pitch. As Cobbo said, if Weale had opted to hit kicks straight down the centre then Waghorn's got little chance against two defenders. The opposition get the ball and go again. Exactly. So there are bound to be ocassions where he doesn't quite get it right and it goes sailing out of bounds. To be fair to him in that second half, the wind wasn't exactly helping him.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Best keeper since Walker - I think I might have said that elsewhere, but I'm close to 3000 posts so I'm posting in any thread I've the slightest interest in
Corky Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 His kicking isn't the main part of his game. The vital parts- shot stopping, catching, being brave (as shown at Qpr) are all spot on.
milan_foxes Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 After Wellens he's been our best signing of the summer IMO.Quality WHAT ?!

Important part of any keepers game is the kicking - and Weale's is not bad at all. WHAT ?! He said it in October relax
maddog Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Class saves, one of the best keepers we have had. Better than Fulop.
Guest Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 WHAT ?! That was written months ago. I have since changed my opinion judging by performances over the last 2 months. Still think Wellens is a solid signing but has dipped in form of late and Weale is running away with it presently. If you're gonna rip people at least look at the date of the post before you do
Ozwin Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Wellens hasn't been a bad signing by any means though. Get's a bit more stick than is deserved imo.
dandannieldanok Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Better than Fulop. I agree although plenty will disagree.
leftsideoverhere Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 He was MOM for me on Saturday, with a succession of quality saves in the second half to keep the point. On a very poor pitch he did basically everything right. Sounds like he was quality again last night. Haven't seen a better keeper all season.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Class saves, one of the best keepers we have had. Better than Fulop. Not fit to lick Fulop's boots. You're a crazy skank!
Scow Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Sounds like he was quality again last night. Haven't seen a better keeper all season. Coventry believe they have the 'best goalkeeper outside the Premiership.' I believe they're wrong. That goes to Steve Harper. In all fairness, sometimes bias can get in the way of judging player ability. However, Weale is certainly up there with the best this season.
MrSpaM Posted 25 February 2010 Posted 25 February 2010 How the hell did Bristol not see the potential in Weale, His miles ahead of that Gerkin guy they have, they've even got some Brazilian goalie who's nowhere near Weale in terms of quality. Either way he's been one of the best signings we've had for years (Morrison being another) Lets hear a small cheer for Conrad though, i don't think i've seen him outside the warm up all season, and although he's not on par with weale, i never thought he was a bad keeper.

Cobbo Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Stringer on his Twitter has said that there is a feature on Weale on Late Kick Off (I assume) that he has put together - BBC 1, Monday 11.35pm
Paulmot Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Has to be our best signing under NP Hobbs we saw play and looked to have potential Weale third choice keeper at Bristol City WTF Weale at LCFC Outstanding
CosbehFox Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Has to be our best signing under NP Hobbs we saw play and looked to have potential Weale third choice keeper at Bristol City WTF Weale at LCFC Outstanding No, Weale was no.2 at Bristol City.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 chris weale and jack hobbs inseparable for me at the moment in terms of player of the season contention. best keeper in the division? i reckon he's got lee camp's number at least!
Jimothy Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 chris weale and jack hobbs inseparable for me at the moment in terms of player of the season contention. best keeper in the division? i reckon he's got lee camp's number at least! My Newcastle supporting mate reckons that accolade goes to Steve Harper. Oh how I laughed
Ozwin Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Put him in front of a crap defence and then see how good he is. Coloccini alone cost £10m-ish. That's more than most Prem sides can afford.
