Which ground has proved the most difficult to get to and why? Can be due to location, or maybe because something just makes it difficult.

Jimothy Posted 2 October 2009 Posted 2 October 2009 I found the Ricoh completely by accident a few months back when bringing a car I'd just bought back from Cov. I never actually went but a mate told me years ago the Baseball Ground in Derby was a right bastard to find. Said you'd drive towards it and next thing you'd you know you couldn't see it and then it was behind you. You'd turn round try again, lose it and the it'd be over to you right or something. I do remember Nick Owen of Good Morning fame saying once he found Filbert Street really hard to find. I have no idea what he was on about, it was easy.

Zingari Posted 2 October 2009 Posted 2 October 2009 obviously a lot depends on your starting point , but as a general rule of thumb, most grounds are easily found on non match days with parking in the area usually quite easy . but just the opposite on match days . hope this is helpful to you

Especially if you miss two junctions whilst talking about nautical terms. I'm still not sure how we made it to Plymouth with half an hour to spare. Lincoln to Plymouth via Leicester and Northampton and back, all in a day. What was I thinking? Reading's supposed to be a bitch, in the middle of nowhere. A stone's throw from the motorway but pissing annoying any other way.

dandannieldanok Posted 2 October 2009 Posted 2 October 2009 All depends on how you travel, the ease of getting to a ground varies massively if you're using a car or public transport. The likes of Cov and Reading are so easy in a car but a real pain in the arse on public transport, whereas Forest's ground is fine on public transport because it's central, but a pain in the arse in the car.

Guest Bilo Posted 2 October 2009 Posted 2 October 2009 City centre grounds are easiest and best in my opinion, especially if you use the train or public transport. Out of town grounds are an absolute ballache however you get there as car parking is often very limited. The Ricoh is surely up there with the most difficult grounds to get to, and that's reflected in Coventry's poor attendances which were on a par with ours when they were at Highfield Road.
Tommeh Posted 2 October 2009 Posted 2 October 2009 Yeovil is an absulote c u n t to find on a Monday night. 20 minutes late and a trip to Bath proves this. As for coming home, Brighton can be a bit of an arse if you accidentally miss the M25 and plough straight into London with no sat nav.
Ultra Posted 2 October 2009 Posted 2 October 2009 The Reebok at Bolton is a real hassle to reach if going by train. In my youth, I got lost TWICE when trying to find Highbury.
