teblin Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 Mirror At the bottom of the page. If Sullivan fails to buy West Ham other targets include Norwich, Ipswich, Cardiff, Leicester and Charlton.
hairy Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 Why the hell would you buy West Ham? £100m debt, £30m operating loss last year and a £20m one this year! On topic: Cant see Mandy getting what he would want of Sullivan
Unit Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 before anybody jumps in with pointing out it's a tabloid, the original mandaric takeover was in the mirror.

Sir Fynwy Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 I'd guess that Milan won't sell yet, he'll want to make more money on the sale but then again he's spent about nothing so far and maybe would cut his losses.
davieG Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 So that's everybody on his list then. He wont like our £20mill+ stadium debt but there's plenty of function rooms to put on lap dancing and the like What puzzles me is why people are so interested in buying Portsmouth
Webbo Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 What puzzles me is why people are so interested in buying Portsmouth Still in the prem with a (slight) chance of staying up and 2 years parachute payments if you don't. I'd think Milan would sell for any kind of profit but it looks to me like the Mirror is just pulling names out of the air.

But why not any of the other fringe Premier teams?
jonthefox Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 i dont think we would be any better off under sullivan than mm. He was hardly reknowned for splashing the cash at brum was he.
Guest Bilo Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 If this happens I imagine our monthly ST holder benefits really will be exciting. Tug Mag anyone?
Fox You Forest Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 Also on that site, 'Nottingham Forest target Leeds striker' referring to Alan Sheehan.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 I saw an interview with him last week (I think Sky Sports) and he mentioned that he would only be interested in getting involved with a southern club. He is also a Hammers fan so I would imagine that the West Ham link would have some credence.
FoxyLady85 Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 I am not a fan of Sullivan and wouldn't welcome a take overbid from him if he showed an interest. I am not a fan of Mandaric either but would rather keep him at the helm of the club.
Thracian Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 Rather stick with Milan to be honest. Me too. I hope I never regret saying this because I don't like any of these outside owners to be honest. But if Sullivan arrived that would be my season ticket ditched. I worked for the bloke and remember how his shitsheet of a newspaper wanted to slant a story about Sir Bobby Robson's England. Fortunately I was sub-editing the story and could do something about it.

Sooper Steve's shin Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 But why not any of the other fringe Premier teams? At a guess, I would say £££. Any Premier team must be more valuable with the Sky money and other incremental income that comes only from being in the Premiership. Even if they are fighting relegation, they have a couple of years' parachute payments that makes getting back again strongly weighted in their favour. This must make them a more valuable asset than a team outside the Premiership (and that has no guarantee of getting there). That's why Madaric bought us - we were cheap but with a reasonable infrastructure, good crowd base and (objectively) a decent bet for getting into the Premiership in a few years. He had success with Portsmouth by taking them over in a similar position, getting them up and selling them. No doubt he gambled on doing the same with us, but events didn't quite turn out as planned. Ours is a perfect example of why non-Premier clubs are worth considerably less than Premiership clubs, so if Sullivan's ready to take a gamble for a much bigger return then that's what he would look to do. The only Premier clubs worth buying would be the ones currently worth nothing - i.e. West Ham, Portsmouth.
Thracian Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 What was wanted to be said ? England were underperforming at the time and, basically, they wanted to hang Robson out to dry. Imagine it. A bloke who probably knew more about football than Sullivan knew about porn.

norfolkfox222 Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 I live in Norwich and most of the Norwich fans i know are 100% Sure hes going for Norwich, but then again they are Norwich fans and havent got a clue about anything else other than Norwich City
Guest Bilo Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 I think we can kiss goodbye to the 'family club' label if this happens :w00t: No bad thing, maybe have this as goal music too. Nothing like a bit of porn and sexual French to clear the Family Stand.

Lillehamring Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 better the devil you know, than the devil you don't....
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 October 2009 Posted 6 October 2009 I dont think MM will sell and I really hope he doesnt. We have consistency at the moment and I really like MM as a chairman. And I dont want that dick as a chairman anyway.
