Alexikokopops Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 If the new rules were in place and he'd actually wanted to...
Matt Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 I thought Giggs could have always played for England, Somehow, Don't know on what basis? Grandma/Grandad maybe, Not sure but i'm sure i've heard or read somewhere Giggs could have always been eligible for England, Infact didn't he play for England Schoolboys or something?

Alexikokopops Posted 13 October 2009 Author Posted 13 October 2009 THANKS FOR LETTING US KNOW. The news was so urgent that I was having an Ultra moment. I thought Giggs could have always played for England, Somehow, Don't know on what basis? Grandma/Grandad maybe, Not sure but i'm sure i've heard or read somewhere Giggs could have always been eligible for England, Infact didn't he play for England Schoolboys or something? Oh Good Lord. You actually have to be joking.

Yeh he qualified by going to school in England. Im hiding behind the settee when Finners gets here
Alexikokopops Posted 13 October 2009 Author Posted 13 October 2009 Evidentally, Matt, it seems you're not joking. He isn't eligible to play for England. Yes he played for England Schoolboys. In fact, if you read the article you'd see that he played for England SCHOOL BOYS because he went to SCHOOL in ENGLAND, which is why under the new rules STATED IN THE ARTICLE ABOVE he would have been eligible to play for England but, and I quote FROM THE ARTICLE ABOVE "he was ineligible to represent England's senior teams". His mum was Welsh, his dad was half Welsh, half Sierra Leonean. He could have played for Sierra Leone, BUT NOT FOR ENGLAND. You have to laugh really. The whole reason I made this thread was because of the amount of times Finnegan and I have ended up telling people on this message board that Giggs couldn't have played for England and it took until the second reply for it to crop up again
StanSP Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 at how Michael Owen could have played for Wales!
Alexikokopops Posted 13 October 2009 Author Posted 13 October 2009 Im hiding behind the settee when Finners gets here He passed the torch to me a while back through complete and utter despair
