marbelladave Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Hang on there..... who has hacked MarbellaDaves account and said all this postive stuff?! 'Tis me, in mellow mood this grey and dismal afternoon. Actually that post sums up my view of NP and his management team and has been pretty consistent for about eight or nine months. He has been great at stabilising the football side of the club, good at bringing in decent players for little or no money and the straight forward and straight talking way he deals with the media, the fans and I presume, the players is first class. My only reservation is that he is too conservative in the way that he sends us out to play. He consistently favours experience over youth, defence over attack, caution over enterprise and although he has said that this has not brought the results he had hoped for he seems unable to make the necessary changes. I pointed this out several times last season when we were going through our 'difficult' periods, suggesting that we should be doing better with the players we (then) had but as we were looking odds on for promotion I was generally shouted down. When I went as far as suggesting that with our squad and club set up automatic promotion back to the Championship was the least we should have expected I was given a severe telling off. My main concern is that this caution, so obvious in Pearson himself has become ingrained in his staff and worse still his players.
Edmund Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Offering constructive criticism of the team and the way we play doesn't mean you want Pearson out otherwise you could argue that everyone who puts in a different team selection to the Pearson norm or questions his substitutions must want Pearson out.Just a thought like Nothing wrong with that but you have to draw the line between a pessimistic outlook and constructive crtiisicm. People need to look at the bigger picture. The season isin't even half way through and people are already doubting if our man at the helm is the right man for the job. Correct me if I'm wrong but that translates to doubts about the manager. And in football that only means one thing, bring in a new manager. To be frank there are Ipswich fans who have more faith in Roy Keane than some on here have in Pearson. Ridiculous

Look at the positive attacking style our academy teams display compared to the cautious and sometimes plodding efforts of our senior team. Maybe it simply means that we need to bring this more positive outlook to our first XI? It would appear that we already have the means and know how to achieve this already at the club!
Corky Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Come on lads, let's win 5-0 tonight. Thoug I'm sure some will find a negative view

So are you saying Jon Rudkin or Steve Beaglehole should replace Pearson
marbelladave Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 So are you saying Jon Rudkin or Steve Beaglehole should replace Pearson Not at all. Coaching at academy level is a very different job from managing a competitive Championship side, I think we can all agree on that. But having a degree of input into the training and tactics of the senior squad, why not? We can make cynical comments about old dogs and new tricks and it might even be difficult for seasoned pros to take them seriously but our attacking play needs something to kick some life into it! Any other suggestions out there? (Buying a new forward line does not count! ..... )
Corky Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 NO! Out of his depth. Who would you bring in then?
Fosse Boy Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Good Lord chaps! We're 9th in one of the toughest leagues in the world to get promoted from, after bouncing back from the first relegation to the third tier in our history! Granted, we're not playing some brilliant football right now but save the panic until we're actually in danger of returning to the doldrums of lower league football eh?

It's crazy isn't it. I have no problem whatsoever with frustration at Pearson's stubbornness in team selection and the team's lack of attacking penetration but questioning whether he is the right man for the job is nothing short of fucking idiotic. This thread makes me cringe, I won't be posting in it again.

A few people moan like twats and you think he should leave the club for someone bigger? So every Forest fan has nothing bad to say about Billy Davies?
StanSP Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 NFFC, what's your reason for being here? Like, seriously why?

Some of his decisions are to be questioned, every manager has the same thing. If you did a survey I'm sure 99% of Leicester supporters are fully behind Pearson and what he's doing at the club.
NFFC Chris Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Wasn't you the ****** not so long ago calling for Davies to be sacked Well on a Forest board I post on no one was personally calling for his head though I admit there were early concerns, and the two situations are uncomparable as Pearson has already achieved sucess with you last season and having spent less than we did when we got promotion(where we finished 19th),you should be biting your hand off to be sitting in 8th spot, not looking to criticise. I came on here to wish you lot well initally and to say it's nice to see both of our clubs doing well for a change, but it seems too many are looking for too much too quickly on here so if Pearson does eventually fook off I won't be sorry to see some of you get a much needed reality check.
