Jimmy Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 a crazy 5 mins cost us today Morrison needs to come back in for Neilson Adams for Oakley and Fryatt needs to learn when a 1st time shot is required instead of taking 6 or 7 touches and doing nothing
Guest Mee-9 Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 All the idiots around us in L1 who started all this "Ingurlund! Ingurlund! Ingurlund!" bollocks really ought to be ashamed. There were people just generally deciding to have a chat all around the stadium too. Disgraceful. Was awful mate. Sounded like all the baggies were being noisey too. Another point? 9) Scott Carson is a cvnt 10) Battered sausage from the chippy near Welford road, gives u the shits
Ozwin Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 I couldn't tell who was chanting at the start of the minutes silence, I thought it was the West Brom fans. Shocks me that it was L1, our fans are usually quite good at things like that. Tbh I don't think it was arranged too well, there should have been a whistle or something.
dandannieldanok Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Yeah what was with the minutes silence? Was shambolic, so poorly observed? The family stand was actually louder in the minutes silence than at any time throughout the match, it was pathetic. I'm all for having kids come and enjoy the football but why can't the parents get them to shut up for just one minute.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Not sure how the minute's silence was "disgracefully observed". It was quite clear that the intended series of events wasn't conveyed properly to the crowd. I don't think those who were chanting knew they were supposed to be observing a minute's silence at that particular time.
Ozwin Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 You can't blame kids, there's always one or two crying or something. It's when people start chanting when it's disrespectful. Cudos to whoever shouted 'SHUT THE **** UP!' in the stand near L1.
Budweiser Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 I thought that we didn't play too badly. The first goal was poor, defensively, it just seemed to crawl in. The second was a joke. It was a quality strike but someone should hae closed him down earlier. Oakley and King are both injured now, so I wonder who will play in midfield? Wellens & Clemence If Gallagher had of scored a minute into the second half I reckon we would have stole a point. Credit to West Brom though, they have a very good side and if we look at it, they have a much better team. On reflection, no body can have any real complaints, and Mattock didn't look very comfortable at all
C-man Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Yeah what was with the minutes silence? Was shambolic, so poorly observed? Problem is, people can't follow simple instructions. The PA announcer clearly stated at least twice that the Last Post would be followed by a period of silence. Not a round of applause. Clowns. One thing I'll never understand about minute silences is that if someone says one word its followed by 500 'fuck offs'. Cheers then, that helps.

Birch even said before the team come out what would happen followed by "If you have any applause please save it for after"
Fox You Forest Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Highlight of the day was Waggy taking out rat face Roberto with that slide tackle.
C-man Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Birch even said before the team come out what would happen followed by "If you have any applause please save it for after" I missed that, but wow.
Suffolk_fox Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 I didn't see this game, but from the Radio Commentary we just lost to a better team. No disgrace, we won't win them all - and I'd sooner lost to WBA than Derby or Ipshit! Happy with 6th!
davieG Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Birch even said before the team come out what would happen followed by "If you have any applause please save it for after" They problem is that make these things too complicated for your average fan to follow. A minutes silence would have sufficed without the last post as worthy as it was.
Milky Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Highlight of the day was Waggy taking out rat face Roberto with that slide tackle. It was his assistant Eddie Newton.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 If only Gallagher had scored in the 2nd half it could all have been different. Fryatt did fook all, we bring on Howard and most of the long balls go to Waghorn and Wellens had the worst game I have seen him play in.
Tommeh Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 A whistle should have signalled the start of the silence just as it did the end. People applauding the song was always going to happen. Anyway good entertaining game I thought, they wern't too much better than us but certinly with Thomas and Moore had the pace up top which troubled what is a slow defence of ours. Certainly 2nd half we were better and if Gallagher puts that chance in on 50 we've got a real shoutl. Only thing that got me is the reluctancy of Wellens and Fryatt to get shots off around the box Waggy was Carsons first test just befroe their goal also both their goals were soft as fu ck. Waynes last man challenge in the final minute of the first half stopped us from being thoroughly dicked on, absolutely heroic. Bit disappointed we couldn't have forced one in earlier and realy pushed for the leveller but on the whole its the reality check I feel many needed, we're still in the play-offs and far surpassing my pre season expectations. Oh and I had a nugget on Bruno 1st goal in 2nd half at 50/1. Plus for the numbers they brought and nature of the game WBA fans were shite.
Fox You Forest Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 It was his assistant Eddie Newton. You've just ruined my day completely.
Karljohn Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 We need to sort the midfield out, backing off again like we did at Newcastle has cost us..I actually thought Weale could have done a lot better with both goals, the first a daisycutter and then second which he had a good sight of but seemed to dive the wrong way. Neilson started well enough but then faded back to his usual 4/10 performance, Fryatt doesnt get his head up enough and his first touch at times is abysmal, caught offside 3-4 times today. As for Scott Carson, what a tough guy...many of us complained to stewards about his conduct but to no avail, "we are paid to watch you not them" was the generic response.

fleckneymike Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 The request for silence after the last post was made at least 4 times during the 10 minutes I was in the ground, if that wasn't enough a great big Helicopter landed to drop off the ball, there were soldiers and Poppies everywhere and Alan Birchenall explained in great detail what was about to happen. Why anyone thought that they should begin singing is beyond me. Even if there hadn't been an announcement common sense would have dictated that silence was required. Also why sing England, England? It's called the British Army and Poppies are sold by the Royal British Legion. Those that made the most noise are the same sort of idiots who do all the patriotic tub thumping during World Cups and bemoan the influence of 'foreigners' etc.
Father Ted Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 We conceded two sloppy goals. The first one being a slightly fortunate free-kick but nevertheless poor defending. The second one, Weale should probably have saved it and where on earth was the midfield?? Despite average/solid performances in midweek by Nielson, he is still really shit and Morrison should start. McGivern is poor aswell. RIC FLAIR WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Ozwin Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 I think it was aimed at the fact their team is full of foreign players. Might be wrong.
Fosse Boy Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 I think it was aimed at the fact their team is full of foreign players. Might be wrong. Yeah. You are. It was a misguided attempt at patriotism which was totally inappropriate for the moment.
