skinnydipper Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 I thought the aggro at the end involved Olson. What did Carson do?
Budweiser Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 We conceded two sloppy goals.McGivern is poor aswell. fook off was he. That is bollocks IMO.
maddog Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 I can't believe the extent of the WBA love in, they weren't that good at all, Preston were a much much better side when they played at The Walkers. We are really struggling to perform at home this season, especially in first halves, it is quite frankly shocking the way we play there at times. Cheaply giving the ball away constantly. Our entire midfield were absolutely shocking, we didn't have one. And continously wasting the chances we did create, and wasting it when in great positions to create a goalscoring opportunity. I find myself more confident of winning away games now than the home ones. Ultimately we were beaten by a poor free kick that didn't deserve to go in, but it somehow rolled past everyone, it was so lucky. And for some reason couldn't get the ball in the net when having a lot of corners and chances, how the fook Gallagher missed that, had he tapped that in everything may have been different, i thought Gallagher was awful today not just because of the missed chance. Waghorn was by far our best player and showed some real Premier League class today with his runs, controls, speed and passes. Such a shame he's not actually our player.
Foxy27 Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Just got back home. Was disappointed today, we started off half asleep I thought and took a while to get in to it at all. Both goals looked really soft but I want to see them on tv before i pass judgement on Weale as he has been so good for us this season. Was a shame Gallagher missed so early on in the second half looked easier to score than miss, think if that had gone in we could of given them a real go. Berner I think it was, had a chance not long after that and could also have done better with his effort. Really not convinced with McGivern again after today's display. Stick with Berner Nige
Karljohn Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 I thought the aggro at the end involved Olson. What did Carson do? Carson pretty much similar to Olson, mouthing off, celebrating the win with the wrong set of supporters. I thought one or two of the lads near me were going to go for him but he backpedalled quite quickly, whilst it wasnt exactly Adebayor v Arsenal, it could have turned ugly.
Father Ted Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 fook off was he.That is bollocks IMO. On your own then.

Saw Olson doing that but didn't realise Carson was at it as well Tools
Fosse Boy Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Must say I wasn't overly keen on McGivern. But we didn't really have much choice following the substitutions did we? I recall he made a couple of decent tackles but that's about it.
Sods Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Carson is a cock, Olsson is a cock and we didn't turn up.
Ozwin Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 McGiven was well good when he came on, some lovely balls into the box.
Guest Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Carson is a cock, Olsson is a cock and we didn't turn up. Pretty much. We gave them far too much time and space for most of the game, unlike the QPR game where we closed them down really well. Disappointed Gally didn't turn that one in from a yard out. No idea how that first goal wasn't stopped at some point, it was horrendous. Ah well. Olsson and Carson, this is for you
easilee Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 a crazy 5 mins cost us todayMorrison needs to come back in for Neilson Adams for Oakley and Fryatt needs to learn when a 1st time shot is required instead of taking 6 or 7 touches and doing nothing Agreed! I've thought this for a while now about most of our players. It's like they telegraph their shots. The opposition can see them coming a mile off. Most of the best strikers, whoever they are, let the ball fly unexpectedly. Saying that, i'm not moaning. Seems to me a bit more tweaking, maybe a couple more players in and we'll have a formidable team.
James. Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Sorry if I'm being lazy but what actually happened with Carson and Olsson?
Guest Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Someone explain what happened, missed it. Basically, as some people have already said, they came over to us in the Kop at the end giving it 'the big un' and calling us something that distinctly looked like 'wankers'. Could have got out of hand but the stewards didn't care what they were doing to antagonise the supporters. Could've been worse but there was no need for either of em to do it to be honest
Ashley Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Disapointed by the Westbrom fans today near N Block there was a disabled lad in N block and he was getting alot of abuse of the westbrom fans near the top, just after they scored there second goal it got abit nasty in our bit with both sets of fans trying to get to each other.

To be fair, we're not exactly saints. The people chanting 'Eng-er-land' should be banned for the rest of the season.
Legend_in_blue Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 You can all talk about how good WBA were etc etc, fact of the matter is this... We gave them too much time, didn't close down, gave away two soft goals and still could have got ourselves a draw. Two seasons ago we would have folded. We kept going and for me we were unlucky not to get a point. Our best spell in the game came when Wellens seemed to be here, there and everywhere. As soon as he went back to sleep, so did the team. It's a shame, because if we'd come out, had a right go at them and closed them down, we'd have got at least a point imo. Too much respect given. We should have had them.
Webbo Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 I think the minute silence thing was just a misunderstanding, as soon as those people realised they soon shut up.
Guest ttfn Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 I think the minute silence thing was just a misunderstanding, as soon as those people realised they soon shut up. Still, chanting 'Eng-er-land' when we're remembering the dead is a bit much isn't it?
Ashley Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Still, chanting 'Eng-er-land' when we're remembering the dead is a bit much isn't it? I think they was only singing it in a sign of respect
Anish Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 Poor performance by us, we gave them too much respect, too much space and too much time on the ball. Our midfield was abysmal today, even before King and Oakley went off so their absence is no excuse. WBA should've been 2-0 up inside the first 10 minutes, Cox was free in the six yard box but their midfielder chose to shoot rather than square it, then Moore missed a sitter from about 8 yards. Our midfield didn't look like getting anywhere near their players and I (along with quite a few others in SK2) thought Oakley was subbed cos he was playing shit... The goals we conceded were poor - how that free kick squirmed in I'll never know and the second goal was as a direct result of our midfield leaving a hole in the middle of the park for their attacker to run straight through, and the defence backing off with nobody making a challenge. Weale really ought to look at himself as he probably should've done better with at least one of them, if not both. As a team we were awful - the only players that can walk away without feeling ashamed are Brown and Waghorn (and possibly Berner when he was at left back). The others were poor - King went back to being somebody else's shadow, Oakley and Wellens were giving the ball away for fun, Neilson was a liability, N'Guessan had no impact apart from barging their defenders from goal kicks, Fryatt was too slow at releasing the ball or shooting. We are still well positioned in this league but we're well behind West Brom, who outclassed us today.
fleckneymike Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 McGiven was well good when he came on, some lovely balls into the box. I assume this is some sort of ironic post. His crossing was piss poor.
Anish Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 McGivern was suspect - as soon as he came on Carson kept pumping the ball up to their right winger, who usually won the ball in the air. As for McGivern's crossing, yes it was at pace but most of them were overhit to the far post. That was the first time I'd seen McGivern and I wasn't impressed, either defensively or going forward (although I admit he had no support in front of him).
fleckneymike Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 I think they was only singing it in a sign of respect They were singing it because they're idiotic dickheads who have somehow managed to grow up not knowing that a minutes silence is how we respect the fallen in armed conflict. Since when has singing England been a sign of respect to the armed forces? The armed forces who are made up of people from Britain and the commonwealth.
