samjohnson Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Watford chairman Jimmy Russo has loaned the club's parent company £1m for the club to survive the next month.Russo paid the loan to Watford Leisure PLC on Friday but a statement to the Stock Exchange revealed they need £5.5m more to continue until the end of June. The current loan will only be enough to cover the holding company's cash needs until 22 December. The Hornets could need to sell players in January, with England under-21 keeper Scott Loach likely to leave. If more funding is not available to the club, the board is expected to seek a suspension of trading in Watford Leisure's shares on the Alternative Investment Market. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ord/8387626.stm So... Any watford players that you'd like to see in blue??
The Doctor Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Think we should take Graham from watford and ambrose from palace if they're both in trouble
Sir Fynwy Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Just waiting for someone to say Tom Cleverley If they have no cash they may have to send loanees back to their parent clubs and he could be available again.
Guest Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Think we should take Graham from watford and ambrose from palace if they're both in trouble Like a vulture, picking over the bones already
The Doctor Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Like a vulture, picking over the bones already get in there before anything else comes along e.g. a truck running over the carcass and squishing onto the tyre leaving nothing left.
Super_horns Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Nice to see all our good work on the field this season is likely to all be wasted because the old board decided it would be wise to spend 3.5 million and 20k a week wages on the likes of Nathan Ellington.

Edmund Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 If they have no cash they may have to send loanees back to their parent clubs and he could be available again. Unless the parent clubs are paying the wages.
samjohnson Posted 1 December 2009 Author Posted 1 December 2009 Palace reportedly need cash too. Ive just heard this on Sky Sports News... Neil Warnock bullshitting as per usual.
Samilktray Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 3.5 million and 20k a week wages on the likes of Nathan Ellington. Think yourself lucky you have a great striker like him and not the likes of Steve Howard. Ungrateful fucker.
Super_horns Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Think yourself lucky you have a great striker like him and not the likes of Steve Howard.Ungrateful fucker. I wouldn't mind if he didn't cost so much...Ellington's not the only one we've wasted money on though. How can a club go from having 50 million or so after being promoted to being so messed up in such a short time! All sorts of rumours going around about where the money may have gone...when it should've been used to build a new stand and give us a bright future.
lildave3 Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Think yourself lucky you have a great striker like him and not the likes of Steve Howard.Ungrateful fucker.!!
CosbehFox Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Watford are still owed a few million off Pompey for Smith and Williamson.....
lavrentis Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 I would spare a quid but I'm giving it to the brick fund.
StanSP Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 I would spare a quid but I'm giving it to the brick fund. A far better cause.
Super_horns Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Watford are still owed a few million off Pompey for Smith and Williamson..... Probably part of the problem...we're still waiting and unlikely to get it for a whille.
StanSP Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Dunno if you can confirm this, super_horns, but apparently some of the cash just disappeared which should have been used mainly on your new stand for your stadium??
Super_horns Posted 2 December 2009 Posted 2 December 2009 Dunno if you can confirm this, super_horns, but apparently some of the cash just disappeared which should have been used mainly on your new stand for your stadium?? Yes we had "ringfenced" 9.5 million...to build a new East stand etc. That is the rumour..into pockets of certain people (directors?)
Jon the Hat Posted 2 December 2009 Posted 2 December 2009 Yes we had "ringfenced" 9.5 million...to build a new East stand etc. That is the rumour..into pockets of certain people (directors?) Owners of the business in taking their money out shock? Surely not.
MrSpaM Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Dunno if anyones seen whats happened to Watford, but looks like their going out of business Think we might have to swoop on Cleverly to try and get him back here asap Thoughts?
Zingari Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 reg dwight has been selling off a load of his old frocks recently
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Clearly no one wants to see a club go to the wall, but I think that eventuality is required for the FA and Premier League to sit up and take notice of the mess that the current league structure and Premier League and be in it for 5 minutes and the wrong reason charman's are creating. Wage cap anyone?
Super_horns Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Dunno if anyones seen whats happened to Watford, but looks like their going out of business Well it depends if the other shareholders agree to accept the Russos offer to take over the club as a whole otherwise we are stuffed. Wage cap would be a good idea but clubs and players would never agree to that.
