Nottingham Forest Post-Match Thread

They don't care anyway.

Tuesday night, onwards and upwards, we're going to lose a few along the course of the season, it's the fickle fans that are going to be all over this like the preverbial fly on shit with their SACK THE BOARD rants. Not saying a 5-1 loss is acceptable (especially to those that paid good money and went), but it was going to happen sooner or later. The squad isn't too great, in all honesty. It's average. Not quite relegation material but certainly not promotion material. Hopefully the "pie in the sky" fans will now have more realistic ambitions after this shocker.

It's that it's against Forest that's a bit gutting.

I know you can, then again you've had the practice.... Burnley 5 v 0 Nottingham Forest 14.03.2009

Don't forget the 5-1 result against Wolves as well when we won at Cheltenham.

That was 5 wasn't it?

What a load of shit. Men against boys. Waghorn is the only one id give the time of day to tonight. We had fvck all idea wat was goin on. Support was gash too,we were doin a pretty gd reanactment of my nan's funeral even before we went a goal down. What a shit day. Seeing a few forest get put on their toes out back of the station has only mildly cheered me up.

Gutted, obviously, the biggest thrashing of the season (touch wood) had to be against Forest didn't it.

But maybe, just maybe, it's something we needed to happen. Something to make Pearson have a serious think about the team. Good news about them being in training 2moro.

Yeah, no pussyfooting around it by him at all. He made no excuses. He was quite honest. As always.

The reaction on Tuesday is hugely important.

Very true, but I was hoping for a reaction today from the lads after the bitter disappointment of conceding late last week against Sc.unthorpe in a game we should of won.

We've got to be happy with our position (I aint complaining) after recent years but I think we could be even better off if it weren't for some strange managerial decisions at times

Why does anyone in their right mind support leicester city?

Ashamed of the team today, didn't look up for it and we were cack for 90 minutes

Gutless, powerless, toothless, useless

Oh and cheers referee, if the TV pictures say otherwise then sorry, but that looked DEFINITELY in the penalty area, absolute shite.

You just spanked us 5-1 and you are spending your Saturday evening on a Leicester City forum.

Go out and get wasted you dimwit.

Barring the QPR game we have been hot and cold in games all season. Unfortunately today we were cold all afternoon, pretty much everyone today sounded like they had an off day, including the manager. Yes we haven't been great this season performance wise, but we've still looked better than or matched 95% of the teams we've played.

It's bitterly disappointing today, more so because it's a local rival. We're still fourth though and but for a last minute goal last week we'd still be above forest. We'd all have taken that at the beginning of the season if it was offered.

The teams above us have expensively assembled teams, as I mentioned in the match thread all three of them have one player in their team who cost about as much as our whole starting 11. With a bit more financial backing in January we could still be in with a real chance of achieving something this year.

What we're doing this season is still a massive achievement considering the drama of the previous 5.

having just spent quite a few quid and hoping to be going to a game that was excitin, full of passion and close, I have to say that that performance was just about as bad as it gets. This has been coming, lets face it, because our defensive solidity had to crumble one day, and surely even the most hardened Fryatt fans must realise that we are not strong enough at the other end.

Unfortunately, the game ended up as a farce and was effectively over when their third goal went it. Although I hate to say it, Forest were faster, better tactically, and in Earnshaw, had a striker that turned Brown inside out from start to finish.

Yes, you are right, our position is still a massive achievement. However, and here's the paradox, I can't remember a worse City performance for years.

Fryatt fans need to stop being delusional and accept that he is, at best, a good League One striker..... Brown needs to bounce back and quick, because if he doesn't, this showing could really knock his confidence...and Pearson MUST stop being so stubborn and start to introduce some pace into this City side, even if it means he has to play players he doesn't like personally.

Its a good thing that the Bristol game comes so quickly and it will demonstrate whether this squad really are as solid as we have been led to believe.

But this is royally entertaining me

Did we do it to you though after that sensational comeback in the last few minutes the other year?

Come on man, be fair. Don't think we would do it to you - well, I wouldn't!

If you're interested in an appropriate post-match debate, you're more than welcome to stay.

If you rather troll around, leave and let the grown-ups continue debating.

At the end of the day we didn't turn up.

And in my opinion the only players who can hold there head up and say that they actually tried today were Waghorn and King, and Waghorn wont get the praise he deserves.

Wayne Brown needs to start standing up players and not backing off, because if he does that against quick players, like he did today he will just get ripped to shreads.

We cant really say we didn't deserve to get a pasteing today as we did we were shit but hopefully we can bounce back and give Bristol City a thumping.

I would love to see Gradel recalled but i dont think it will benefit anyone so while he is playing games and playing well at leeds leave him there.

On Tuesday i don't think wholesale changes are needed but changes deffinetly are

My team would be:

Weale

Nealson

Hobbs

Morrison

Berner

N'Guessen

Wellens

King

Dyer

Galle

Waggy!

You lot were shocking today. I'm fairly certain you won't be that bad again for some time but credit to us we played some great football.

Dyer (I think) looked your most dangerous forward but he didn't really have anyone to give it to. Your front two couldn't get past Wes and Kelvin. I couldn't be certain if you had anyone in centre mid area, your full backs were terrible and at centre back neither of your lads got close to Earnie and Dex threw himself around well.

For the record I thought the first penalty was in the area and should have been given.

To be honest, I think this has been coming for a while and a bit of a reality check. I do support Pearson but think it applies to him also. Last seasons success was built on trying to keep the same team and playing with width, albeit at a lower level. They got used to each other and how each other played. Pearson in recent weeks seems to be doing a bit of an 'Ollie' i.e. due to the availability of more personel, tinkers with different formations, different players and playing them out of position. Out of Hayes, N'Guessen, Dyer and possibly Gradel if we got him back, surely that would be better than playing Oakley, Gallagher or even Fryatt today for a short time, out on the right. I don't think we can afford to have Wellens, King and Oakley in midfield, imo, perm either one of King or Oakley in centre midfield with Wellens. We need to create more and give oppositions more to think about. It's no good blaming Fryatt if he's not given the opportunities. I'd personally like to see Gallagher given a chance alongside or just behind Fryatt or Waghorn.

Cheers.

Also, this hugely expensive thing is a bit of a red herring. Most of our side have been bought for bargain prices as their team didn't want them. It's only Earnie and Gunter who have cost anything like big money. Our wages are structured so that the players only get big money when they win. We have a basic wage but we have large performance based remuneration.

Also, we're in a position to spend because we've spent the previous few years sorting our finances out after Platt emptied the coffers, so we've earned the right to throw a bit of money around. There's no sense in throwing money you don't have at a problem....as we know better then most.

When was the last time we won an early kick off ? or at least played well & got a draw. Last season we went to Peterborouh for a top of the table lunch time clash & didn't turn up. Something seems fundamentally wrong with early kick off preperations. If we were a sunday league team then at least you could blame it on being p****d up still from the night before.

I seriously hope we get our money back from Milan.... That performance was the worst ive ever seen, and ive seen mansfield play :l
