ramboacdc Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 reality check that we need to get a few players in and if our defence doesnt work as a unit....we get hurt badly
dandannieldanok Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Please can we have a 4-4-2 back, please please please.
Bluefoxtim Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 If only Oakley's shot had gone in at the end rather than hitting the post. Pearson out.
Hitesh Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Poor effort by the sounds of it and to be honest, it looks like Pearson got it wrong from the off! It's been made worse that it's against Forest but this is a wake up call for some of the players and in some respects, something they needed. We need more bite in midfield and the defence clearly struggle against pace! But I don't think we should panic over this one result - we need to bounce back quickly to prove it was a one off!
Captain... Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Perspective people - We are fourth in the Championship, compare this to any point in the last 5 years. 1 swallow doesn't make a summer, and one shocking result doesn't make us a shit team. Now if we line up in the same turgid 433 formation on Tuesday then I will start to worry, experimentation is necessary but quit while you are only so far behind. I will let the moaning commence below see you on Tuesday.
lcfcsnow Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Please can we have a 4-4-2 back, please please please. We did from the moment we went 2-0 down. The problem is players like Neilson, Howard and Brown are nowhere near good enough, where passing the ball is often an enormous task to complete. And Oakley is our captain but hasn't had a good game at Championship level since his debut almost 2 years ago.
Anish Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Tactically we were giving them the advantage from the off. Playing centre midfielders/strikers on the wings simply doesn't work, we've seen that over the last few weeks. Pearson has to sort it out sharp.
Edmund Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Bad bad day at the office. No excuses from what I've heard, sounds like we didn't deserve anything from the game. Poor ref or not Earnshaw was on fire. Finnegan will be having a jizzfest tonight I'm looking at the positives, hopefully this brings everyone back to earth. Still a long way to go in the season. Still think our own success could be our biggest enemy this season as some fans expectations seem to be somewhat unrealistic.
Salieri Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Dont put your cap locks on to me ever again. Shambolic performance/result. A reality check that maybe was needed, shame it was against Forest! Here's hoping Nige reverts to playing with some width, using proper wingers (recall Gradel?). There will be some massive over reactions on here i'm sure but we will bounce back from this. I feel for the fans who made it to the City ground.
City_4_Life Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Depressed. Sounded like we was never there today, very poor. Lets just hope they forget about his, and bounce back on tuesday.
teblin Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Get Gradel back for tuesday. Play Gallagher up top with Waghorn, play 4-4-2 and show some desire!
Karljohn Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 I am looking forward to the starting line up announcement on Tuesday. How can NP now justify starting Fryatt, Kermo, Howard etc....Waggy and Gallagher up front against Bristol. I wish Tunch was fit. Think Nicky Adams and N'Guessan should start. Max Gradel please come home soon.
Ultra Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Too many of the current side proved today they cannot take us to the next level. Oakley and Howard in particular should be shown the door now. Only Waghorn came out of this game with any credit for us.
purpleronnie Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 My brother in law has just left a message pretending to be from notts forest asking if i wanted to become a member, it was quite funny actually, a few days after we got relegated he came round my dads house dressed head to toe in a southampton kit.
wignalll2007 Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Cant wait until monday i work at a college in nottingham so im going to get some right stick!! All week ive been told they were an awsome team and i suppose in the end they proved it, Milan needs to get some money out we are in need of a decent striker and a couple of midfielders.
Dames Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 We needed this spanking. We've got lucky recently with playing players out of position hopefully this puts an end to Pearson's stubbornness.
Edmund Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Wouldn't like to be on the end of Pearsons wrath after todays game. Bet the boots and pizza is flying around as we speak.
Koke Posted 5 December 2009 Author Posted 5 December 2009 Let's be honest though, we were playing a VERY good Forest side at their backyard. This could give us a right kick up the backside. This could go either way. Either our confidence will be shattered and we go on a freefall, or we go on a right winning run. The reaction to this is vital. Absolute vital.
Babylon Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Wouldn't like to be on the end of Pearsons wrath after todays game. Bet the boots and pizza is flying around as we speak. Hopefully he gives himself a good talking too first.
