DarkTranquillity Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Waste of £30, but thats football. Now we know how Derby felt when we scored 4 in 15 mins! Change of fortune on tuesday night and it will all be forgotten. We are still 4th in the league and it was a one off. A few players should now be dropped though (Nielson, Howard, Oakley, maybe Fryatt?).
Ford Super Sunday Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Ian's optimistic moment of the day in 2002/03, we lost 6-1 away to Ipswich We all know where we finished that year  (That's the best and all I can muster from this thoroughly miserable day)
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Sounds ridiculous, but this might JUST be the 'wake up' call we needed. At least the results went for us and we need to go on a decent run now if we're to cement our place in the play-offs.
Corky Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 We were appalling, got the thrashing we deserved. Defence all over the place, midfield non-existant, Waghorn gained some credit for carrying on with woeful service. All-in-all a dreadful day.

Then if it is a wake up call, and the players could respond positively, it'd be great as we have alot of games this month.
Ozwin Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Just got in, come on then, what the hell happened?!

This might do us good? Also proves to me were no way ready for promotion this season. I dont want to suffer this week in week out. Sense of realism from the fans now please?

Unfortunately not, either we're the best team in the world and about to storm into the Premier League, or we're fooking awful, Nigel must go and we're getting relegated
Flynny Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 I'd completely forgotten that this was an early game, so quite a bit of dismay when I looked at BBC sport just before 3. Ow. I expected a loss to be honest but not a pasting. Hopefully it's a distant memory when I get back up to Leicester over christmas.
The Doctor Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Something we said on our long journey back with a forest fan in tow! This might do us good? Also proves to me were no way ready for promotion this season. I dont want to suffer this week in week out. Sense of realism from the fans now please? At the moment we aren't ready for promotion but strengthn right in january and i see no reason why if we get up, we can't avoid humiliations like this week in week out. The fans aren't likely to be realistic, they believe milans 3 year plan is still in place.
Corky Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Who were the prime culprits today then? Would be unfair to single out any individual, it was a bad performance collectively.

lou Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Unfortunately not, either we're the best team in the world and about to storm into the Premier League, or we're fooking awful, Nigel must go and we're getting relegated Yep sure seems that way
marbelladave Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Jesus, what on earth can you say. Our limitations and weaknesses have been discussed at length over the last few months, little did we expect that they would all be ruthlessly exposed in one game. Just about everything that could go wrong did, and all of them have been repeatedly flagged up on this forum by a small number of contributors, myself included, but since we have mostly managed to scrape wins and drawers we have been roundly abused by the majority. To be honest after watching today's performance, I would rather suffer the abuse…..
Guest Mee-9 Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 I felt bad for Kermo today. Tries his hardest, for 5mins, then gets replaced by the useless Steve Howard. Must be crushing for the bloke.

Well when NP's position becomes vacant and you hand your cv into Mandaric, make sure you don't forget to mention this. <_<
Fosse Boy Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Pearson out simple as, fooking crap and he's been found out. Last week against scunny. Chance after chance and now today. Yeah, fourth place isn't good enough.
The Doctor Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Good point! Lets hope so eh? all depends on whether milan is willing to back pearson with a nice warchest. But still who do you bring in? we need a back up keeper but is any one going to sign nowing they'll sit on the bench until weale gets injured? We definetly need back up for the full backs because neilson's the only real RB we have and McGivern hasn't really shown himself to be capable of supporting berner but then would signing cover in those postions leave us with enough to get a fairly prolific striker which, if any team is to survive in the premier league, is a nessecity. A creative midfielder to provide our attack with chances would be top of the list as well. All in all we just have to trust pearson to make the right desisions.

Guest Mee-9 Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 I think I'd like to see some1 like Jay Bothroyd play for us. Strong striker that can utilise the ball well.
Vlad The Impaler Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 This is only a blip in our season. Still think we'll go up, as i've said from the start.
muffin Posted 5 December 2009 Posted 5 December 2009 Baby Lon I'm glad you find 5-1 a rib tickler, City were as poor today, as your all to numerous posts! You and a few others don't see it yet, but its about to start unraveling big time for NP. I for one just knew we were going to get thumped today, This should of been the second hammering recently, Reading being the first. The ONE thing that can save our season is new signings in Jan. Or you can forget the playoffs. muffin
