The Doctor Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 i'd say Hume. always gave 100% and looked interested in playing for city (unlike those last night). Hignett for that goal against arsenal as well.
Wycombe Fox Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 'Mad Frankie' Sinclair - nobody scored own goals like our Mad Frankie!
davieG Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Sorry Webbo but I think we should consider renaming this topic Shit players of the noughties because with one or two exceptions most of those listed were and many didn't have anything cultish about them. It makes me feel ill reading some of the names.
Jimothy Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 A positive thread to change the mood a bit. As the decade is coming to a close lets look back at fans favourites of the last 10 years. Not necessarily the best player but a player who could make you smile or get you going. Try and say a few words why as well if possible. I'll go first; Danny Tiatto; What I love in a player and just what you'd expect from an Aussie. An up and at 'em, hard tackling, have a go type player. I remember when I first saw him playing for Man City on MOTD thinking I wish he played for us and then Mickey Adams signed him. I know he wasn't everybody's favourite but I thought he was great. My problem with Tiatto was simular to the Oakley thing right now. He was stuck out on the left, but spent 99% of the game in the middle of the park. Was very competative and never pulled out of a tackle, but when we needed an out let on left he wasn't there. I used to get really frustrared with. Same with Oakley on the right wing now. Some people might say that being played out of position is not fair on a player, but if you're told to do a job, do it. So for me, Tiatto flattered to deceive. Put his foot in a lot, very competative, but caused problems in the balance of the team for me.
Fosse Boy Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I guess Muzzy still counts Sir Les Huuuuuuuuuuuuume. Brian Deane Most of the 02/03 promotion squad probably deserve a mention...
Finchy Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Still Muzzy, was great in the 02/03 season. God how we need a player like him now.

Tbf there hasn't been many players in the last 10 years that we could appreciate for their skill. We have to dream up some excuse to cheer them.
Fox92 Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 Gareth Williams Always wanted him to sign. Shame we always played the ball in the air, because he is a fantastic footballer - uses both feet and his control was brilliant. Never forget his goals against Norwich, Hull and Bolton. He would have been an awesome player if he got stuck in more than what he did. Bit like Andy King James Scowcroft Brian Deane Ian Walker

Hugo Sanchez Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 Martin Keown Keith Gillespie Charlie Miller Gunnlaugsson
City_4_Life Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 How hasn't anyone mentioned Trev??? I will, Purely for his Ronaldo-esque run and cross at Sheff Utd away.

Captain... Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 I would go for Stef Oakes - Always great to see local talent in the side and I used to work with his mum in Kwik Save in Birstall :-) One of many promising youngsters in the noughties that never quite fulfilled their talent. Alan Sheehan Matt Heath Matt Piper Stuart Campbell Stuart Wilson Tommy Wright That was depressing looking up their careers on Wikipedia.
Ultra Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 Ian Marshall Theo Zagorakis Matt "last goal at Filbo" Piper Ben Thatcher Les Ferdinand Joey Gudjonsson Dion Dublin (for that goal against Charlton) Lee Hendrie Chris Powell Max Gradel
Ultra Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 Currently not attached to a club Has he retired? It'd be a shame if injury has forced him to quit.
ACF Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 Surely it's either Big Barry, Sappletizer, DJ or Levi.
