BBC Unveils new Regional Football League Show

It's going to be shit

Might have been good had it been as East Midlands one, but to lump 14 teams in, to have alleged 'punditry' in addition to the highlights... it will just end up being 15 Minutes of 'OMG HOW GOOD ARE FOREST, AREN'T THEY BRILLIANT COS THEY WON THE EUROPEAN CUP!' and then a round up, and they'll probably just show the same length of action as they did for the normal FL show.

And my hopes of getting bulkier highlights from the Welsh show are dashed because they don't even do a Welsh region, they're contractually limited to 5 minutes of action per club, so the show couldn't be justified apparantly.

I for one will not be watching this......It will be a Nottingham Forest Love fest!!!! Uck No thanks.......

considering it will have savage on the sofa and his almost infamous interview on the bbc radio last week i think it might have a fair chunk about Derby too...

" and is it good to see your old team leicester doing well?"

" yes, pleased for the lads"

" right thats it for this week , please tune in next week for unbiased in depth coverage of the whole region...."

What's with all the negativity. I agree half an hour is pushing it to cover 14 teams as I raised the point earlier but I highly doubt it will be biased or solely based on one club. They might have little features on certain clubs each week but I can't it see becoming a wank fest as some suggest. The BBC football league show has proved this already.

How you lot can judge a programme that hasn't even started or aired is just laughable. Another classic British moan.

I don't think they can get that in Norway.

My dad said he wished he was a Forest fan this season earlier :nono:

I'm going to slip some arsenic into his tea.

I wish you were a Forest fan.

Yes it's not the best football show in the world but The Football League isn't the biggest league in the world and for the BBC to have 2 programmes i.e. The Football League Show and Late Kick Off well...credit to them. We had to cope with shitty ITV coverage for a number of years and just thinking about that gives me a headache. Here there's much more going on and they are trying, they've also got coverage to some live games so I think they've done a good job. Put it this way, I much rather watch City on the BBC with Manish and Steve Claridge's thoughts than on ITV who only showed like 20 seconds of the City matches, and their presenter was a loud of crap!

Did we actually get a mention?

If yes how far in?

If yes how long were we 'on'?

Is it worth me watching if I'm not interested in the Geordie V WBA game or Notts Forest?

I fast forwarded through it this morning, so this may not be right.

From what I could gather, we were the second game shown, after 5-6 minutes of WBa-Newcastle highlights (which is good to note if we're ever a Monday night game in future)

How long were we on for? I don't think it was much longer, if at all longer than the goals shown on the FL show

They then had a bit on Forest, and then had a feature on Derby. Stopped FFing it then.

From a Leicester POV it wasn't the best, and if you don't like Robbie Savage, then this isn't the show for you.

Yes.

Near the end.

The goal.

No.

It was dreadful.

Thanks, saves a little of what time I have left on this earth :P

I saw the East Anglia version - awful, awful, awful. Presented by Matt Holland (ex Ipswich)... again - awful.

Mind you, I did get to see Norwich play pretty well. Doing a similar job to what we were last season in terms of bouncing straight back.

Excellent watch, did exactly what it said on the tin. Great for those who are out on a Saturday night and missed the goals.

Only downside was watching DJ run the show at Peterborough for the second time. :D

Well done BBC, was a good watch.

Spot on.

Christ knows what people expect, FL coverage as come on leaps and bounds this season by switching from ITV to BBC.

Absolutely. It has it's faults (like the text-in) but the fact the BBC actually seems to give a fuck about the FL (having the goals on the website, a show this weekend when there aren't Ch'ship games) means it's a far better service.
