Thracian Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Please Oakley Please Please Please. No chance. In fact I'd love to know just how much Gradel's widely predicted departure might be influenced by Oakley's seeming permanance in the side. Most fans see Oakley as a central midfielder and I don't think I've heard anyone praise him as a right winger though I'm quite sure there'll be the odd one or two. But it's always seemed to me that Pearson would find some way of playing his skipper and I doubt that Gradel would have been encouraged by that any more than seeing Gallagher out there on occasions or even N'Guessan who has really shown little aptitude for the position during his time at City either. In fact the guy looks far more a striker than a winger.
Edmund Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Could it be Matthew Charles Fryatt? Most unlikely. It's no coincidence that today Gradel has been heavily linked with Leeds and then this appears. If it's not Gradel, then my money is on Campbell to Derby or Coventry.
nuttytimmy Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Could it be Matthew Charles Fryatt? That wouldn't surprise me to be honest, and I'd be disappointed - but fair play to him [if] he's off to a Premiership side... More likely to be Gradel though, most things in football are usually announced by rumour and speculation rather than by clubs.
Jimothy Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 It's not gonna be Fryatt. He'll be moving to a "bigger club" for a large fee. One of the papers, rumour mill etc will have picked up it. It'd be on SNN now.
DanTheFox07 Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 lets hope its campbell, a big earner off the wagebill and then we might be able to get someone quality in his place?
Tony Pine Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 as long as we get at least half a mill for him
Guest Mee-9 Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Bit too much speculation for it to be gradel after thinking about it. And Grayson's been talking about extending the loan until the end of the season. Plus pearson doesn't want to sell Gradel. Campbell or Dickov could be.
MC Prussian Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 as long as we get at least half a mill for him There's some value to Thracian... but not that much.
Budweiser Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Am I the only one glad Thracian's back? Im glad

Liamlcfc1 Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 if it is gradel i would be sad to see him go such a nice guy and great player met him a few times at the training ground and allways happy to sign things and take pictures with
Wycombe Fox Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Am I the only one glad Thracian's back? No - I'm glad too. Always makes for an interesting, thought-provoking read whether you agree with his opinion or not. back Thracian

Ozwin Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Why are people assuming it's Gradel? Just guessing or has there been rumours of a Leeds bid? It could be Fryatt for all we know, there's been more talk of £5m bids for him than anything for Gradel.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 I'll be annoyed if it is Gradel who is off. My money is Dickov though.
Finnegan Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Couldn't break into the team and I don't see that he's leagues better than N'Guessan or Dyer or even than the performances Adams put in at the start of the year. Working under the assumption they're going to pay half decent money for him I don't see it as a bad piece of business, particularly if we have to buy to sell (which despite Mandaric's nonsense claims about digging deep into his pockets, is likely.)

Yeh, thought about that as well. Out of all the players who are not getting a look in, Gradel is probably the one who will bring the biggest £££££. And that fund is perhaps needed to add a bit more quality to our squad. I don't think we'll get that much for him, but meh.... We're not gonna miss something we never had. Great lad and everything, but I won't shed a tear if he leaves.
