Genuine question here... wonder if anyone knows or have been in the line behind people who where the niqab ... when at an airport do they remove them to reveal their face? im assuming they do of course but would be interested to know if anyone saw this kind of thing happen...

In my experience no, but that was one time, One time against however many people in world wearing this dress isn't a very in depth study.

I was behind someone wearing a full veil they went through, no questions asked, yet I was asked to remove a cap, That was about 5ish years ago I think, I'd like the think security has heightened, but I don't know.

As for people saying 'Well this hasn't been used as a form of terrorism, or disguising identity for crime, or terrorism', It only takes 1 time, and i'm surprised it hasn't been used as a form off illegal activity yet - and led to serious trouble, Equally it is down to security control to do these checks, Something I hope has been tightened as I said.

My main argument was you could see my face even with a cap on, How can they see their face/check their passport's, e.t.c, with a full veil on? :dunno: Yet I was told to remove my cap.

I flew into an airport a year or so ago at the same time as a flight from Pakistan and anyone with a covered face was just waved though. Whether than is general practice or because it was absolutely rammed with people, I have no idea.

I was also in a queue behind a lady wearing one last year, I must admit I was somewhat miffed at having to take off my shoes, coat, hat, hoody etc and padded down, when they only had to walk through the metal detector. Again, whether that's general practice I don't know.

I still managed to get a bottle of water onto the plane that I'd bought outside the airport though. I forgot it was in my bag and nobody said a thing, I'd probably have been anally probed if they had found it

People can wear what they want as far as I'm concerned, if I have to remove items of clothing though then so should everybody. We should all abide by the same rules.

I remember when I flew into Australia a few years ago, and they are very strict on what it took into the country, you are told to declare anything, Biscuits, Sweets, Food, Drink, anything, I forgot I had some biscuits in my back, until a sniffer dog came running up to me, If you get caught i'm told you get a huge fine/investigation, It was only biscuits but was told I was very lucky :giggle:

I'm a mastermind smuggler

I'll keep my eye open for you on that Aussie border control programme!!! The number of Chinese who try and smuggle in a whole supermarket in their bag is amazing.

On our way back from New York a few years back a woman wearing a veil and her family were taken to a side room before being allowed on the plane. I obviously don't know the ins and outs but it did seem like a security check as they were ushered straight onto the plane from the room.

Everybody should have their ID ok'd like everybody else. Wearing a niqab shouldn't prevent that.

Mr's G had her nail scissor confiscated, probably reasonably and a number of cosmetics and as a result was physically grope searched. We also had a tin of tuna (she's frugal :P ) we were bringing back from France confiscated.

As stated earlier I'm extremely offended when asked to remove my baseball cap exposing my bald head for all to see on entering a pub but only on match days!

Those are both really worrying...

you forgot, did you say?

I wonder if the states are alot stricter on stuff like that since 9/11... although really... everyone should be careful, of course...

When I went on holiday last year I noticed that in the departure lounge (after all security checks) they were selling small scissors and tweezers in Boots.

Also I had a lovely pizza that they gave me a steak knife to eat - could have easily stuck it in my pocket

After you've taken over Asia, you'll be doing stand-up in China town.

Nothing really of any great relevance but are you seriously hard over Finners or something? Most places I look that he has posted you seem to pop up afterwards, pretending you hate him but putting an air of stroking one off over him in replies. :dunno:

I think you'll find it more a case of tit for tat. Obviously you haven't seen the references made in certain topics where my name has been mentioned (Tiger Woods thread being the last I saw) by him.

On a side note, not sure where you're getting your porn material from, but mine certainly doesn't consist of fantasising over text based material. Maybe you should give hustler braille a go, you might find the little lumpy areas more appealing. :dunno:

Aren't porn mags full of erotic stories? That's text based material.

Uhm, someone asked me about you in that thread. Granted they had you confused with fox92 but that was their mistake and an easy one to someone who doesn't read the forum often, given the similarity in name.

A woman forced to wear a niqab is a disgusting thing.

Its a male domination thing, because its not part of the Qu'ran.

But a ban? I saw an article titled "The burka is ugly, but not as ugly as a ban". That's spot on. Since when did this country start forbidding people wearing anything?

Is it law that you can't wear a balaclava? Banks don't allow helmet wearing in their shops.

Inane idea from a party which will never earn the right to govern this country.

The irony of that is, a prominent member of the government (Jack Straw), asked a muslim woman to remove her hijab when she visited his surgery in Blackburn Rovers a few years ago. Its a vote winner.

Know many Muslim women?

I know Muslim women who choose to wear them.

So boo ya sucks.

The majority do...... Like Ive said a few times on here already all the Muslim girls I know are far from oppressed! In fact they are amongst the strongest women I know.

Wasting your time trying to get through to some people though, Lisa, their prejudices are too deeply ingrained.

Last week on the politics show when the BBC were trying to swap votes from one party to UKIP, Nigel Farage told us thousands of muslim women are forced to wear it, was he telling us porky's?

Is that because Leicester isn't a muslim stronghold like say Blackburn, Whitechapple (London) or Dewsbury is?

A politician lie?!! Never! :o

Anyway any woman who is so oppressed that she wears a veil against her will is hardly likely to go and tell someone about it, especially her local UKIP MP!!

Seriously, read back what you have written, and go away and think about it.

I await your musings.
