Fosse Boy Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Radio Leicester. Please note I was joking re: Pearson out. Cheers guys.
Manderic's pants Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Why play Gallagher on the wing again? Just leave him out of the team, or play him in position. If you're going to mess about with the midfield, how about - I don't know - a midfielder playing there. Maybe even use one of our three wingers on the wing. I realise this is some pretty radical thinking right here.
Ultra Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Disappointed, but not in the least surprised. With no game either last midweek or this, Pearson's decision to rest Wellens and Howard more than a little strange. Kermogant and Gallagher failed to take opportunities available to them. Opponents are starting to suss this team out. Unless new blood is brought in during the next two weeks, what could have been a season of promise will rapidly fade away. At the very least, Campbell, who has a better scoring record than Fryatt and most of our other strikers at Championship level, should be brought back from loan.
Edmund Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 I think a lot of you have underestimated Swansea. Yes we've beaten them twice this season but both times have been at home and tight contests. Swansea are having a good season and play some very good football. Their league position says it all. As frustrating as it is, we've only lost by a small margin and to one of the better teams of the division.

DJ is not fit enough to lace Fryatt's boots. You're a notorious wind-up merchant, so woe is me for biting.
markbsac Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 no we are not good enough but what do we expect ..we were in league 1 last season..we have punched above our weight i think we are lucky to be where we are in this division...some of our players are not good enough to make the push..but are good enough to keep us in this league...and that will do for me this season....but i wish the players would put a little more effort in when fans on prob minimum wage make the effort to travel and pay to watch.....they are highly paid for passing a bag of wind about....so come on city players show more effort !!!!!! UP THE CITY
harpendenfox Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 OS match report talks about our strong second half response. Really? It's not the losing I mind so much, it's the fact we didn't have a shot on target. It's a long time since that happened. A performance as gloomy as the weather. We need a little spark, a little something to get us excited We need Max
Guest Mee-9 Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Let's hope we can pick 3 points up at Barnsley next
Thracian Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 I look forward to some massive knee-jerk reactions... Not from me. The game only seemed to demonstrate the problems that have been apparent for ages and which, only our unconvincing but elevated position has glossed over. You only get the chance to win promotions by creating chances and scoring goals, not by having one shot on target in a match.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 We're not in a that dire situation to be hoping to get players back from loan ASAP but... I've always rated DJ Campbell

Agreed , I've never seen Swansea play at the Liberty Stadium under Sousa but they seems to be very strong at home and able to dictate the game with their passing. We came up against a good team and lost, tough luck, time to just move on to the next game. We've lost games already this season and we'll lose a few more this season, this is no biggie.
Matt Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 We need Max Without sounding like i'm slagging Pearson off - Which i'm not, but NP does worry me on how stubborn he seems to be on these decisions, every manager has their favourites, but he sort of has certain players he won't change, or won't play often, sometimes not a bad thing, but when it's quite clear McGivern needs dropping, or Gallagher doesn't work on the wing, or Gradel should perhaps be given a chance it doesn't happen. TBH I was very surprised to see Neilson had been dropped today, As much as i've wanted him dropped didn't think it would happen anytime soon.
Thracian Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 SACK THE BOARD Ifyou mean the tactical blackboard, I might agree!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 The coolest manager in the division won today, no other Football League manager can pull off style like Paulo Sousa.

Judging by recent history I think it is a requirement of becoming a Leicester City manager. I wouldn't be surprised if they all had to wear blinkers at their job interviews along with their best suit and tie.
stivesfox Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Chris Weale said on radio Leicester he didnt have much to do? Anyone go this game or listen to it as I couldnt get it on the net, what happened in the rest of the game, how do we lose if the goalie is claiming he hasnt had much to do? Where was Wellens just heard on radio leicester a team was picked to play a game, why does a centre forward replace our most creative midfielder. Interesting interview Chris Weale and Nigel Pearson
Edmund Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Thracian did you use to write for the City Fanzine Blue Tuesday?
Shrenchel Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 We need Max Text from Leeds mate said his cameo today was 'ok.betta than wycombe.' If that's what he's doing against teams down the wrong end of league one then I dont think he's going to set the championship on fire.
Thracian Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Thracian did you use to write for the City Fanzine Blue Tuesday? No. Must have been a shameless imitator.
Matt Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Text from Leeds mate said his cameo today was 'ok.betta than wycombe.'If that's what he's doing against teams down the wrong end of league one then I dont think he's going to set the championship on fire. He only had 17 minutes, not really alot of time to do anything that spectacular, especially when they were already 1-0 down, then Exeter scored shortly after Gradel come on. Hearing Leeds fans opinions of him whilst he's been there sounds like he's one of their better players.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Was looking on WACCOE a few days back. Some1 said he was the best thing to come to Leeds since Hary Kewell!
smudger63 Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 The criticism of kermogant on todays performance, may or may not be jusified. Was he playing deep, and so leaving fryatt isolated, out of choice or was he told by pearson to play deep! If he was following the managers orders, then the criticism is a little harsh. Gallacher is a frustrating player for me, he looks like he has real ability, but we see it all to rarely. He gets plenty of crosses in, when out wide, but the quality is normally so poor. Though to be fair, that could be said for the crossing ability of most of our other players too, and dont even get me started on the quality of our corners, they are woeful most of the time! I do believe, if we really want to make a serious push for the play offs, we need some more quality brought into the team, hopefully with a bit of pace, cos we lack pace all over the pitch. Now whether we will bring anyone in, is hard to say, theres mixed messages coming from mandaric and pearson. Mandaric is saying he will back pearson with money for players, if he asks him for it, and pearson is saying he has to sell before he can buy, so which is it?
Ford Super Sunday Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Gotta be disappointed with that. First half we were nowhere, terrible performance, lumping the ball and reaching no-one. Better second half, and N'Guessan really should have scored, but passed it back to the keeper Weale was right, he didn't have much to do, they aren't clinical. For all the posession they had, and for their creativity in Dyer, they didn't really test us.
Anish Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Having been to the game (waiting for the train back at the mo), my thoughts are: 1. the first half was a disgrace - no passion, no fight and no quality. We barely struck two passes together before hoofing it long (to the ineffective Kermorgant who won the square root of f.. all). We made Swansea look like Brazil with the amount of time and space we gave them, not to mention the fact that nobody made a tackle. Morrison contained Nathan Dyer on the right but as soon as Dyer switched to the left he beat McGivern for fun and set up the Swansea goal - which had been coming for a while and was completely deserved. 2. the second half we showed much more fight and desire but still lacked quality. Waghorn made a big impact and went on a tremendous run which resulted in him being hacked down for a clear penalty which the ref waved away. Other than that, we didn't look like scoring and even our closest effort on goal was a Gallagher CROSS which he miscued. 3. the midfield was a shambles. King went back into his invisible mode again and Oakley tried but failed to pick out his passes most of the time. Dyer looked out of his depth and Gallagher is not a bloody right midfielder. Pearson's obssession with playing players out of position is really starting to rile me. Swansea's midfield completely overran us and showed us how to pass and move - with pace. Something which we don't have with the likes of Gallagher, King, Oakley and Howard/Yann in our team. 4. McGivern is a liability. He was skinned so many times today and this led to Swansea's goal. No wonder there were chants of "Bruno Bruno" and "Send him back" every time he f**ked up. On this showing Pearson needs to buck up his ideas. We may be able to scrape past the likes of Plymouth and co with an imbalanced midfield but against the better teams we're found out. Oh, and although Fryatt wasn't at his best today I really feel sorry for the lad. If he was in Swansea's team today he would have scored a hatful - the number of times they pinged the ball across our goal but he nobody to tap the ball in was almost comical. On the other side, Fryatt was just chasing hoofs and the service to him was dreadful.
