Swansea Away Post Match Thread

Terrible game, just like last week. Started off very, very timid. No drive forward, no passion (from what I gathered from listening to the radio, mind you).

It took 89 minutes for the first real shot on target. 89 friggin' minutes!!!

Where was the midfield? How many created chances did we have? Without proper service from midfield, no wonder the guys up front can't put it in the back. And what the **** was Gallagher doing on the right wing this time???

We had the realistic chance of establishing ourselves in the playoff spots with two games in hand, players supposedly fitter compared to other team's schedules, but blew it twice with two terrible displays against one side we should've beaten and another one that hardly ever threatened.

In the first game, defensive errors and a non-existing midfield were the cause, now against Swansea we just weren't good enough. No team play, no desire to win it.

The club's now out of the race again and they've got nobody else to blame but themselves.

Looking at it positively, I think we were unlucky to lose. They had what, 2 shots on target? Not exactly match winning stuff is it? I know we didn't deserve to win, but a loss was a little cruel. Having only listened to it on the radio, I'm not exactly sure how we played - Stringer can be a bit excitable - but I'd give Kermogant another chance, particularly as it sounded like we fielded a rather strange 4-2-3-1 formation.

Oh and to people like Alexei, what were your expectations at the start of the season? Mine were, for a financial limited club like ourselves, avoiding relegation and cementing ourselves back as a Championship side. Promotion would be terrible - we'd be a laughing stock. I think we're doing fine - win our game in hand and we'll be back up there.

Edit; in fact, 3 points from our game in hand takes us back up to 4th. So terrible...

First shot on target in the 89th minute is absolutely terrible.

My main gripe is playing players out of position. I think Pearson plays Gallagher to try and justify his fee.

I wish this game had been postponed.

Can't say much as I wasn't there but we sounded awful in the first half, most notably Kermogant, Can't really give to much of an opinion though, Second half sounded slightly better, sounded like we had 2 or 3 chances of scoring, or should have scored.

Oh well, It makes those postponed games even more important and must win now.

I had little expectations - probably just hoping not getting relegated again lol, but certainly to perform better than in the previous few Championship seasons with the established nucleus of players we've currently got.

The manager and the players have gone this far and you can't be but disappointed about the recent drop in performances, especially given the fact that they had a longer period of rest thanks to having played one to two games less than the other clubs in this league. All in all, just a shame, really.

I guess I thought since they were this good so far, they could continue the run.

But obviously, I was mistaken.

Not too looking forward to Barnsley now, but we always do well against Barnsley, so...

Poor.

No bumming of Kermo no idea how he played.

No bumming of anyone.

2 out of 3 isn't bad though, lets hope we never have to play Swansea ever again.

I'd like to see Waghorn starting... he always plays with passion, or at least most of the time which is more than can be said for many players.

Other than that, it's a 1-0 loss to a team around us in the play-offs so I'm not too disheartened.

So you're saying that many of our players don't try?

A team that is playing above where many people predicted?

That's a pathetic statement, I'm sorry.

If we were in our relegation season (2 season's ago) fair enough but not at the moment.

sounds like the better team won.

i can't understand why pearson made changes to the attack, the midfield and the defence - that's not squad rotation, that's fucking about, and it sounds like we didn't know where we were at... evident in their total first half domination (61% poss - ouch)

obviously, i'm not in a position to blame individuals, but from what i heard it sounds like more of the same, even when we were playing a more effective game in the 2nd half, it seems like getting the ball into the final third decently is still a major issue. even a complete change up front only generated 1 shot on target...

'Lack of passion, sat back too much, wouldn't put a challenge in. We were crap'

That sounds about right to be honest. It was frustrating listening to the commentary, we just couldn't create anything. Swansea had more possession and although they only managed two shots on target, they managed to score. We've beaten Swansea twice already and really this is a game that we should of won.

I'm glad Neilson was dropped from the team but after last week's performance I'm surprised McGivern wasn't dropped too. I know people are saying that Kermogrant hasn't been given a fair chance yet but today it was clear that the partnership with Fryatt didn't work very well at all! I feel Pearson got it slightly wrong today. Sort it out guys!

Not good enough and a few players short.

Initially, why change an unbeaten team? Ok, it was a 1-1 draw but come on, dropping the man who scored and holds the ball up well :frusty:

Kermogrant too deep as always, thus Fryatt was alone.

Not very good.

Reading a few Facebook status from regulars on here and Mcgivern seems to be taking a lot of flack, hope Bruno is on the mend
