Very disappointing, could not keep the ball at all.

I personally spent all game moaning at Gallagher. He, along with McGivern, was absolutely shit.

Just got in, ridiculously good trip great laugh and top away day.

We didn't perform at all really, 1st 15 of the 2nd half was our chance as we put on the pressure looked a decent side but it wasn't to be and the point wouldn't have Been deserved, Waghorn and Howard made a real difference up top and I feel missed Wellens as the midfield was a bit slow to close down and lightweight at times. I still fail to understand what Gallagher offers wide right.

They were a decent side however, no real complaints about loosing.

I thought Morrison was pretty steady today, his only problem was getting booked early in the first half and when dyer moved over to the left wing second half Morro couldn't really but his foot in just incase it was mistimed and he ended up picking another yellow and getting sent off, then he would have been no good to anybody really.

We can't just pin point individual mistakes for today, its easy to blame Brown, Yann Or McGivern, but as a team, we weren't playing together in stages, we weren't first to the second ball, and couldn't cope with there 5 man midfield, which mean Yann had to drop back which left Fryatt isolated up top. Swansea were paying lots of nice passing football, and there midfielder had free range to go where they want, and we didn't know how to cope with that.

Second half when we got the ball we used it more effectively instead of just lumping it into the channels for Fryatt, Dyer, Gallagher or Yann to chase, which wasn't going to do much good really was it.

Our main problem is we seem scared to shoot, we always seem to do one pass or trick to many and loose the ball, Waghorn was kind of guilty for that, jinxed past a couple of defenders before getting brought down and conceding possession.

Yeah we were bad yesterday, but we were still better than this time 2 years ago weren't we!

Agree with your point about Morrison actually, but like I say, I don't think many Premier full backs would of stopped Nathan Dyer, so I'm not blaming them.

Also agree with individuals, it wasn't their mistakes, I think Pearson got it totally wrong, I'm sorry but against a team like Swansea who can ping it round for ages, you don't drop your top target man, we were never going to outplay them on the floor, and the fact that whenever the defenders got it and turned back to Weale rather than going forward, just showed our negative mentality.

We are quite scared to shoot, agreed. I think Wellens is more guilty of this than anyone, 20 yards out and he'll never try the shot (bar Sheff Utd at home).

I know we're better than 2 years ago, but I we're worse than 3 months ago, thats what gets me. We are absolutely crying out for a ball-winner in there. I said earlier, we have goalscorers, we have midfielders who can create chances, its the fact we can never win it back as far forward as midfield, without the opposition making some mistake. Give us Lee Carsley and we'll make the playoffs.

And your a disabled/boo boy.

No, hes stating his opinions on the game, opinions which I mostly agree with.

I'm not going to comment on the performance as I wasn't there but this is the type of result that shows exactly where we really are at the moment.

Swansea are a decent but not great side. They are hard to breakdown and don't concede many goals at home. To win there you need either luck or quality and it sounds like we had neither on the day. To be a real play off contender these are the sort of matches you need to be winning.

We have come a long way since relegation and I don't think may expected us to be where we are, I know I didn't. The problem is though that to maintain a push for the play offs we will need to score more goals. In my opinion we are probably 4 players short. We have a large squad in theory in real terms many of those with squad numbers are either not likely to feature or are out on loan. We are too dependent upon a handful of players. What would happen if we lost Fryatt, Wellens and Weale to long term injuries, our team would look pretty feeble.

This result shows me that we are close to where we want to be but perhaps in danger of falling short. With the exception of Fryatt our striker look unlikely to score, our midfield virtually picks itself. Where is the pressure on these players? There isn't any because we just don't have the midfield quality in depth.

The transfer window may pass without any additions and I'm not in favour of adding just for the sake of it, but if money could have been found for Davids then surely it could be found for other quality players. For those who say we don't want to go up, I have to disagree, we cannot start to pay down our debt whilst still in this league, with proper management it is possible to survive in the premier league. Also next season holds no guarantee that we will do as well. No the chance is now, it remains to be seen whether or not our management and owner have the necessary ambition to reach out and take this opportunity and give it our best shot.

Just saw the goal - awful.

Majority of the city end were blaming McGivern but it was a catalogue. Oakley wasn't close enough the midfielder and marking all over the shop.

Must say this ranked as the best away day of the season. Reminded me of last season one of the few grounds where I have openly spoken with folk post and pre match. Also, Liberty is the best 'bowl' ground I have been.

I blame Neilson.

lol I actually said to Leese during the game that someone would blame Neilson! (I know youre joking btw!)

Had a good day out spoilt by 90 mins of poor football

Swansea is a hole and too bloody far to drive, found a good pub and mingled with some top ppl throughout the day.

1st half we were terrible and it wouldnt have made a difference if we'd had Torres up front we wouldnt have scored. Bloody lumping balls to no one and giving Nathan Dyer and his colleague on that left hand side as much space and time as their little hearts desired!

2nd half was much better we actually managed to string a few passes together and tried a lot harder but no avail. Few chances we had we fluffed and Gallaghers superb effort was saved so that was that. 7 hours drive and best part of £80 for nothing lol

Lilked the stadium in respect to the fact the stewards left those who wanted to stand do so and allowed ppl to sit in different seats as long as there was space. Even the one message on the tannoy was very polite and requested we "try to remain seated" I tried, I didnt like it so I stood

Parts are, if you go out Mumbles way it's nice.

Yeah fair enough, that was a bit unfair of me, the part of Swansea round the ground was a hole, I imagine there are parts that are nice.

Still think the season is shaping up nicely, a stack of away games coming up and with a game or two in hand.

For me, its how long we stick with Oakley, for a club captain I have never seen one so quiet, the midfield is crying out for Max Gradel and we need cover in defence also as who steps up if someone picks up an injury? Robbie Neilson?

I may be wrong but is Oakley the only player not to have been dropped this season? even Fryatt was dropped for Bristol City at home

I agree that Oakly isnt the most vocal of captains but he has hardly done a bad job of captaining the team last season to the title and thos year to play off contenders. Also I am pretty sure he was Derby captian when they went up so he hasnt got a bad record at all.

I think you're right about being dropped but Weale hasnt been either but you must mean out field player.

We should have been out of the game by half time. Completely awful in the first half, their midfield completely ran the show. As Anish said, Morrison dealt with Dyer pretty well but when he was up against McGivern it was like he'd been thrown into the deep end with a brick attatched to his ankle. Every time the same ball would catch him out and they'd be in on goal or at least with a decent crossing chance, which inevitably led to their goal which was incredibly soft.

Getting in at half time at 1-0 was a blessing for us, thankfully we showed a bit of fight in the second half.

We managed to make Swansea look like World Champions in the first half, but as the second half went on it was apparent they weren't the side we made them out to be. Once they were put under pressure I thought they looked an average side. If we would have got the penalty which was as clear as day, then maybe we would have got something from the game, the momentum was definately with us. However, that still wouldn't have excused the dreadful first half.

As for individual performances, I'm not really seeing what Gallagher is bringing the team. He just seems to pick the ball up on the wing, look up and give it away. I saw him do that at least 6 times yesterday. Even when he did manage to get himself in a good area, his crossing was way below par and rarely beat the first man.

I thought Waghorn gave us the extra speed and determination that was lacking in the first half. Howard and Waggy seemed a decent pairing and both could have maybe had one.

Overall, a dissapointing game that was lost in the first half, I think 2/3 changes are needed to help us go forward.

Lets Freshen Things Up A Bit Nigel

After another game where we had very few chances, and the defence as slow as ever I think Nigel must freshen things up soon otherwise we shall drop to the middle of this league! We must get a new right back in and someone in midfield who can put a ball in the box. I don't care if this person cant run and is at the end of his career. But someone who can put the ball in the right areas! The quality of Oakley and Gallagher set pieces just aren't good enough!

I would go for Morrison/Hobbs combination at centre half. Get Berner back and fit at left-back. Get Gradel back in on the right hand side on a regular basis. Finally stick with Fryatt and Waghorn upfont and lets play some bloody football for a change!!! None of this long ball shite up to Howard!!!

Does anyone actually know what happened with Wellens yesterday? He got stripped off and ready to come on, but then picked his jacket up and went down the tunnel :S

We were absolutely horrendous in the first half, how they got in at half-time only 1-0 up I'll never know. The vast majority of the 1st half was practically a training exercise for Swansea and they were unbelievably comfortable. That said, I do think Fryatt should have done better with that chance he stretched for at 0-0 - any contact for me should have turned the ball goal-wards. But that pretty much summed up our entire game; things that should have happened just, well, didn't.

2nd half we picked up and first 15 minutes after half-time we controlled the game but had no real cutting edge - which is where we missed Wellens in my opinion. As others have said, once Swansea were pressurised, they didn't like it and began to panick, but we were not good enough to take advantage. Even so, the blatant penalty we were denied was unfuckingbelievable and N'Guessan really, really should have scored. It was an awful miss and I don't buy any of this "oh the ball was behind him" crap - it was an open goal for goodness sake all he had to do was hit the target.

Special mention to Bruce Dyer for absolutely destroying us all game, he was monumental out wide. Then again, Harvey Price-Yorke would have been up against McGivern as well.

Overall, think they just deserved to win it, but we practically gave it them with our anonymous first 45.

Oh, and hello Lou  !

Very disappointing. The only people who seemed to give a shit yesterday were Weale and Waggy (when he came on) McGiven is awful, Gallagher is awful and Oakley's corners were beyond shocking.

Disgusting display.

Stringer thought they were trying to coax Swansea into bringing on a sub that would help them adapt to the Wellens change, but then NP introduced N'Guessan and Swansea changed their sub? all a bit odd.

Oh and N'Guessan's control is breathtakingly bad!

Yesterday just reminded me about Hull 2 seasons back.

Nothing went for us, we were shit, outplayed and it was wet, miserable and such a shit hole. Should've had a penalty though.

Plus the ground is a smaller version of the KC.

What puzzles me: In the two previous games against Swansea the pattern was similar. Outplayed by their passing game in the first half, adapted after half time to press them higher up the pitch and spoil their possession game, and go on to dominate and to win. We appeared to start yesterday's game in similar vein as before i.e. letting them dominate from the start with their passing game. Why oh why didn't we learn from the first two games, and press them higher up the pitch from the start?

Tactically, very naive and disappointing.

I thought it was becuase Oakley had taken a knock but then signalled that he was ok. Could be wrong mind.

I felt the only players who seemed to give a damn and put effort in were Waghorn and Hobbs, all the rest i felt lacked motivation, passion and didn't give 100% until the last 15 mins or so. We didn't press them enough, we seemed happy to sit in our own half. Im not sure if it was a lack of effort or the way Pearson had them playing. What disappoints me is Pearson saying the players tried, in my opinon they didn't try and lacked spirit and effort. It has put me off going away games as i really felt let down and like i wasted a day watching a team who really couldn't be bothered and didn't turn up
