haraven Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 I remember many a time back in the days that especially Liverpool supporters used to cry "get those two murderers off the field" after Taggart and Elliott took care of business in the back four. You could blame their speed, but you couldn't blame their brawl. What is your favourite Taggart or Elliott episode? If you got a photo to enclose I wouldn't mind =)
jonthefox Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 i dont remember the opposition, but one player was shouting at savage , which was not uncommon i know. matty elliot walks over and stands between them which made the player just shut up and feck off. classic.
StanSP Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 I remember when Taggart nearly scored an own goal with a diving header but it cannoned back off the bar .
Matt Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 Didn't Taggart and Elliott have abit of a domestic on the pitch with each other once?
Simo86 Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 I remember when Taggart grabbed Stearman round the throat and bollocked him for making a mistake, it was his 1st season in the first team if i remember correctly. I think he poo'd himself a little bit, but he didn't make another mistake for the rest of the game.
DarkTranquillity Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 I remember when Liverpool came down to Filbert Street and Owen ran into Elliots elbow and knocked himself out!!
Jon the Hat Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 I remember when Liverpool came down to Filbert Street and Owen ran into Elliots elbow and knocked himself out!! And Elliot got a ban of some description.... I also recall the same thing happening to one Craig Bellamy, and no ban ensued...
Edmund Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 can't Walshy be included in this Agreed. On that time of our lives programme, Elliot even admitted Walshy was the hardman at Leicester during the Martin O'neill era. Elliot said people feared him because he looked like a hooligan but was a gentle giant at heart. Walshy used to look after him.
lou Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 I can remember Taggart getting Savage by the throat too! and during an Aston Villa cup game a young Lee Hendrie stupidly decided to square up to Gerry at one point and grabbed his shirt near the neck then his face suddenly dropped as he obviously realised the madness of what he was doing Also remember a young Danny Cadamarteri coming to Filbo being touted as Evertons next big thing and acting cocky all game......... til his head "accidently" connected with Walshys elbow

I thought to myself, 'what on earth is he thinking?'
Matt Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 Agreed. On that time of our lives programme, Elliot even admitted Walshy was the hardman at Leicester during the Martin O'neill era.Elliot said people feared him because he looked like a hooligan but was a gentle giant at heart. Walshy used to look after him. From what i've heard Walshy still looks after him. Few months back someone I know was working at some get together with 'celebs' there, and Elliott, Walshy, Muzzy, e.t.c were there apparently Elliott was hammered - A proper pisshead and Elliott went outside for a fag, and Walshy also came outside to the door with him, next thing you know Elliott ran down the street having a piss up against a wall, with Walshy have to take him back inside and look after him for the rest of the night. All a second hand story so take it or leave it, but that's what I was told
Fox Fan Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 I once went up and spoke to Gerry at one of the end of season awards. He was easily the scariest footballer I've ever spoken to, he just looks like he could snap you in half. Easily one of my favourite Leicester players of my time.

lou Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 Yup, we were playing Arsenal. Cheers! My memories not that good (age)
haraven Posted 18 January 2010 Author Posted 18 January 2010 Chuckling here, brilliant stories. I was thinking of making a Steve Walsh one as well, just thought the dust should settle on this one first
Kilworthfox Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 I remember in our last season in the Prem, I sat in the corner of the south stand & east stand, anyway We were playing Tottenham and I remember Stephane Dalmat was having a good game (he went on to score <_< ) I think he took the piss out of our right back once before probably John Curtis <_< the next time Taggs got near him it was right infront of me on the byline and he gave poor old Steph the biggest boot in the air, Dalmat went up about 3 feet into the Leicester sky and with a ***thud*** horrific arrrrghh***** crash to ground. He received treatment for about 2 minutes before continuing, "I remember saying to my dad, he aint gettin up" but unfortunately he did.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 Love it, the ref looks so nonchalant and chilled out. Waited until Wise was pinned down by the neck!
Lillehamring Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 apparently, taggart was very handy at the old karaoke around leicester....

StanSP Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 Theres quite a famous photo of matty with blood pissing out his head.I cant find it anywhere...help please. Wasn't that from League Cup Final beating Tranmere? Even if it is that, I'm sure there's plenty of other times he's had blood pissing out his head
