Fox92 Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Promotion CAN be a good thing - it all depends on how wisely you spend, how you operate on a comparatively slim budget (*OXYMORON ALARM* unless you get some trustworthy investors on board *OXYMORON ALARM*) and what sportive goals you set yourself as a club.Birmingham and Stoke are currently two good examples, and they represent a model Leicester City should strive for. Just thinking the same thing.
Mort Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 But what about us??? The management doesn't worry me so much as what happens if MM finds himself owning a club that's suddenly returned to the promised land... I have no idea what part he played in the Pompey debacle and no reason to suspect that most of the damage wasn't done after he left, but it'd still be a worry.
Ozwin Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 I think the automatic spot will go down to the wire. I said we'd finish 2nd at the start of the season Having said that, i do think we'll end up in the play offs You must be the most optimistic person in the world.

Corky Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Would promotion be a good thing tho? If we used the money to pay off some of the debt and invested in the academy to keep the youngsters coming through, giving us a stable future, then that would be a good thing. It's how we use the time and resources whilst we're up there.
Maybes Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Jesus Christ.A huge line up of Fox Travel coaches under a heading "play offs" is a fear I have. Yep, too right. We get given 40,000 tickets and all the part-timers come out of the woodwork. Would be disabled-o-rama at wembley. Also it would be 100 times better to get Forest in the semi's, two games against them another 5,000 in the Bridgeford and a sell out walkers would be special. Then who knows maybe the Welsh at Wembley.
Bert Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Yep, too right. We get given 40,000 tickets and all the part-timers come out of the woodwork. Would be disabled-o-rama at wembley. Here's hoping they have a special disabled section then.
Guest Bilo Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Here's hoping they have a special disabled section then. Apparently they have one at the Emirates.....
Maybes Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Apparently they have one at the Emirates..... Possibly the gayest chant in football
samlcfc Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Apparently they have one at the Emirates..... , don't even have to watch the video. The picture before you press play is a portrait of disabled

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 If we do get promoted, just how would we cope next season? Any opinions?
Guest Bilo Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 If we do get promoted, just how would we cope next season?Any opinions? If promoted, Milan would have to hand over a sizeable chunk of the £60 million prize money to Pearson for us to survive. We'd have to strengthen all over the field and in depth to avoid doing a Derby unfortunately. Having said that, I would trust in NP to invest wisely if we were to be promoted.

Guest Bilo Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 The what now? Teams getting promoted get a £60 million chunk of the Sky TV money from the Premiership. At least I always thought they did........
shen Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 Teams getting promoted get a £60 million chunk of the Sky TV money from the Premiership. At least I always thought they did........ "Promotion to the Premier League can be worth up to £60m to a football club, it has been estimated. The second-flight Championship teams who win a place get £30m from TV rights, as well as £5m from extra sponsorship and merchandising deals each season. Even those who are relegated after one season get £24m over the next two years, taking the total to about £60m, according to accountancy firm Deloitte." link Is this your source?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 we are going to pitch the tents outside the walkers now to get the tickets. There's a lot of people who have already pitched a tent..........in there pants.
