Jimmy Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 he's a known Leicester fan so the fact he wants to play for us is pretty obvious really, always thought he was a decent player as well
jonthefox Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 could be a possibility as bruce is refusing to flog waggy.
Sparky Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 he's a known Leicester fan so the fact he wants to play for us is pretty obvious really, always thought he was a decent player as well I remember being told he was a United fan.
tartanowl Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 In all honesty he's not very good. Poor footballer but he has bags of pace and energy. If you want a player who will chase everything, incuding lost causes for 90 minutes, and someone who is great at clapping the fans after the full time whistle, then Luke is your man. In terms of technical ability he is sorely lacking. I sincerely hope Irvine doesn't sign him permanently in pre-season.
Daveaway Posted 8 March 2010 Posted 8 March 2010 If we want to move forward he is not the fella to get in. He is not wanted at Derby neither Sheff Wed come the end of the season, oh course he will put the feelers out.
foxoffderby Posted 8 March 2010 Posted 8 March 2010 He's not very good. Derby fans dont rate him at all.
Walkley_owl Posted 8 March 2010 Posted 8 March 2010 He's a better player than Derby fans give him credit for, I'd hope we sign him at the end of the season
Unabomber Posted 8 March 2010 Posted 8 March 2010 I would also like to play for Leicester City. Now that I had said it the chances of it happening haven't increased.
Dezzee Rascal Posted 8 March 2010 Posted 8 March 2010 He is not wanted at Derby neither Sheff Wed come the end of the season, oh course he will put the feelers out. That's not strictly true. Loads of Wednesday fans (me included) rate Reg and would like him to stay. He confirmed on Late Kick Off last week that he is a Leicester fan btw. Good luck with the rest of your season, let's hope Saturday was a blip for you (although i'd miss the Leicester awayday)
Leicfox Posted 3 September 2010 Author Posted 3 September 2010 Inevitably, every time a transfer window opens and shuts, the possibility returns of Varney one day playing for his home-town club.He said: "It's perhaps not going to happen now. Paulo Sousa is signing different players but you never know. It's always been my dream." http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/sport/Luke-Varney-s-amazing-journey-Premier-League/article-2600723-detail/article.html
Leicfox Posted 3 September 2010 Author Posted 3 September 2010 Yeah maybe not, but he can do a job and i've always thought he was pretty decent. Leicester must of known Varney has always wanted to play here, and if i were a manager thats the sort of player i would be looking to bring in, someone who wants to be here and not just in it for the money. Obviously irrelevent now as he's at Blackpool, where i thought he had a really good debut. I think we missed out on a player that would of been commited to the cause.
Fox92 Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 I like him. I'd take him. He may fit into our system, after all, it can depend on how the club plays football. Lets give Blackpool credit, they play it on the floor and he scored on his debut, thats why perhaps DJ looked good up in Lancashire and dindn't fit into our previous system under Nigel Pearson. Where as (and in regard to the post from the Wednesday fan above), if a team plays long ball stuff like Sheffield Wednesday do, he's not going to really fit into their system is he. Even still, he did score a few there didn't he. In my opinion, he scores goals wherever he has been, and seeing as he is a Leicester fan, I'd certainly welcome the move of Luke Varney to the Walkers.
Fox92 Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 speaking of Wednesday, is Tudgay still there? Yes but I think Holloway wanted him up at Blackpool, along with near enough every centre forward in the country.
Bob Farley Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 It would be good as he WANTS to play for us, unlike some players we currently have.
Aumski Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 he's at blackpool on loan in the prem now, anybody else thinking we should have snapped him up.
poopbutt Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 he's at blackpool on loan in the prem now, anybody else thinking we should have snapped him up. no
Matt Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 It would be good as he WANTS to play for us, unlike some players we currently have. I WANT to play for Leicester, but i'm shit, awful, just because he wants to play for us doesn't make him any better or have more ability than he has got - which isn't amazing.
Mr Happy Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 Least foxes travel would be interesting Sorry to be pedantic but thats actually Reg Varney Anyway as for Luke Varney if the Derby fans say hes crap and if they don't rate him when most of their players are barely championship quality then it kinda says alot about him IMO.
Alexikokopops Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 Sorry to be pedantic but thats actually Reg Varney I think he was just making a joke about the surnames, rather than the entire name.
