And this was probably the best plane of WW2...

I know, hugely unpatriotic!

Not sure if the first plane is a Vampire (i think it is), some of them fly over head in Countesthorpe in the summer. They even tip there wings sometimes if they see you wave from your backgarden.

What the hell is that bottom picture?

If that's a real Bf 109 I'll eat my hat, looks like a film prop to me or some horrible Messerschmitt / Spitfire hybrid with a Merlin engine. :dunno:

Brief research shoes the photo to be a Hispano-Suiza fighter built for the Spanish airforce (under Franco).

Effectively a late model Bf 109 built in Spain with an export Rolls Royce Merlin Engine. They were used as 'Emil's', Bf 109E in the film 'Battle of Britain' (1969) which is probably where this aircraft got it's Luftwaffe markings.

Not at all the real thing.

By the way it is a Bf 109, there is no such aircraft as a Me 109! Anything you want to know about aircraft, just ask.

1:25 is pure porn

A good few years ago we were flying in to LAX in a Continental Airways DC10 (or was it a Tristar, can't quite remember) in a severe crosswind. We must have been as sideways as that 747 and we bounced on landing, the port wing tip getting very close to the ground!

It was all over in a few seconds, too quick to get really scared, but a touch would have caused a ground loop and at 200mph I doubt many of us would have walked away!

Along with a very nasty moment on the ring road east of Madrid, that is as close to an early death as I want to come... :sweating: :sweating:

I'm not American

No and I'm sure Hairy knows that. He was talking about "foot-lovers". (Though I am seriously considering starting the "It's Paedo, Not Pedo, You Halfwits!" thread.)

Now you're just getting geeky!

The last time we were at the seaside I saw parents happily giving their kids over to a bunch of pedalos.

Sick bastards. Someone should do something.

Incidentally, I nearly died coz of a pedalo when I was ickle. 'Death by Pedalo' wasn't really the sort of glamorous end I'd have chosen for myself.

So you are saying that Daggers was right and that pedalos are a form of population control?
