Trav Le Bleu Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 If DJ is so brilliant, why did they let Adams take the penalty? Hmmm? Tell me, tell me now! He's hit a purple patch, good for him, but all the moaning in the world isn't, a) gonna stop him scoring b) bring him back and most importantly c) going to make him a consistantly good player. I'd beg one of the admins to close this thread except I'm sure they know like me that some idiot would only go and start a new one.
Guest Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 DJ Campbell can juggle seventeen balls while making a beautiful boeuf en croute. Cow Pie with a posh name? Pah! Mine wins every time.
GLC Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 Cheers. Now where's the "grr, Barrowman" emoticon? Barrowman!!!!
Aeropars Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 Who gives a shit? He's had more than enough opportunity to show his colours at Leicester and failed miserably every time he was called upon. Any other player waiting in the wings would have grabed their chance with both hands. If Blackpool did ever get a chance at the Premier League, DJ (provided he was signed perminantly) would not get a lookin in a premier league team. It riles me that anyone thinks DJ would be an answer to a problem at Leicester
Daggers Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 This is a zombie thread - it will not die unless someone cuts off the head of the OP.
danielpholt Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 I'v not heard anyone saying that they'd play him (not that i'm saying you've not). The only reason i'd look to recall him is to stop him scoring vital goals for Blackpool. I mean, its a bloody good job we're ahead of them at the moment, his goals could yet keep us out of the premiership.
flanimal Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 For a start, DJ can't be recalled - the contract terms state he can't. But, sorry if this has already been mentioned, if Blackpool and Leicester were to qualify for the play offs (it could happen) would DJ be able to play against Leicester were they to meet?
Anish Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 Well, you can look at it from a different angle (and I'd agree with Nick for most part here). Yes, DJ Campbell has scored a few goals for Blackpool, but the point is: They've hardly been strikes that were that influential on the Tangerine's recent rise from mid-table mediocrity to playoff contenders: vs. Middlesbrough: Campbell's goal (a cheap tap-in) came way late into injury time in the second half, when Blackpool's win was already sealed. MOTM here for the Tangerines was goalkeeper Gilks, who saved a penalty. vs. Reading: The Royals were still in a slump at the time, and MOTM for Blackpool was clearly Charlie Adam (who scored once and assisted on Campbell's goal). He didn't play well against Barnsley, had no hand in their 1-0 home win against Ipswich or the two following losses against WBA or Sheffield United away. He then did not even make the bench for the games against Plymouth away, as well as Crystal Palace and Swansea at home. @ S****horpe: DJ's brace (and those were two easy goals) came late into the game, when Blackpool were already leading 2-1 and "cruising to victory" (according to an official match report). vs. Doncaster: DJ scores the first (set up by a lovely cross by Craney), the Rovers could've equalized in the 2nd half. Dobie's goal essentially sealed the win for them. To me, this means, either Craney or Dobie as match-winners, not DJ. All I'm trying to say here (and I guess I'm in accordance with what others have mentioned before) is that DJ has hardly been that great for Blackpool as the ones with the panic button on their forehead are trying to make out. He's essentially just added some icing onto the Tangerine cake and profited heavily from the skills of his teammates - special mention to Adam and Dobie. It's not about the DJ, it's about how well Blackpool have been playing even before Campbell managed to score three times in two games recently. They're on a great run at the moment, yet he's just the on-loan sidekick, getting some of the treat himself. So, would the moaners please shut up and stop making an elephant out of a fly. DJ who? Suffering from amnesia?

Daggers Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 I heard from a source that the trouble in the Watford end was as a result of stewards moving swiftly to stop the "DJ! You should recall DJ!" chant.
neiltheblue Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 There could be a strange twist in the tail of this. Should Blackpool and City make the Play offs and face each other he would not be able to play so he could score the goals to pip Swansea to 6th place and then do the same to beat Forest in the Play off semis before being ineligible to face us in the final. Lots of ifs I know, but stranger things have happened.
Tom_LCFC Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 People have probably already mentioneed this but there isnt a recall option on his loan because blackpool paid a fee to loan him making the loan unrecallable (if thats a word) Recalling him isnt important, i hope he carries on scoring so they sign him next season and he can be a flop for them like he was for us. he isnt a consistantly good striker, hence why we have loaned him out and got Waggy and Vaughan in. I am guessing but i would assume his one of our top earners, along with oakley and howard.
Edmund Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 It probably hasn't been mentioned yet but DJ can't be recalled guys.
maddog Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 There has to be some sort of clause or someway we can stop him playing for them. He isn't tied to them by lock and key he's our player. If there isn't maybe a few fans should kidnap him.
Fox You Forest Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 Any chance we can change his name on here à la Sheehan.
Guest Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 Any chance we can change his name on here à la Sheehan. What to this time? 'Offside!'
flanimal Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 Anyone think DJ will still be a Leicester player next season, and still get loaned out? I'm not sure when his contract ends.
The Doctor Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 Anyone think DJ will still be a Leicester player next season, and still get loaned out? I'm not sure when his contract ends. end of next season i think. try the archives. Edit: Yep next summer source
Fox You Forest Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 What to this time? 'Offside!' 'Hauser' from the movie Total Recall.
MC Prussian Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 So, can DJ be recalled or not? He's currently in bed with Madonna - she's urging him to turn the record on.
