Dylan Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 After a 4-0 victory, surely there should be no starting changes unless there's an injury. So i'd stick with: Weale Morrison - Hobbs - Brown - BernerSpearing - King - Wellens - GallagherHoward - Waghorn Subs: Logan, Neilson, Oakley, Adams, Nguessan, Vaughan, Dyer/Kermorgant. The only change to the squad i'd make is putting Dyer on the bench if he's fit, in place of Kermorgant.
RowlattsFox Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 Weale Morrison Brown Hobbs Berner Gallagher Wellens King Dyer/N'Guessan/Adams Waghorn Howard Although I thought Spearing did ok, I think we need to have someone who is going to stay wide because we were way to narrow on Monday, espeically first half. Other option is play Spearing and leave out Gallagher but either way, I think we definatley need some natural width.
Mee Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 Weale Morrison Brown Hobbs Berner Gallagher Wellens King Dyer (If fit, if not, Spearing) Waghorn Howard
marbelladave Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Same team please. Perfectly reasonable. The team must have gained some confidence from the last result, though I would bring in Dyer if fit. So; WealeMorrison--Hobbs--Brown--Berner--King--Gallagher--Wellens----Waghorn-- Howard-- Dyer--
iancognito Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 I wouldn't change it unless Dyer's fit but I've got a feeling Captain Fantastic will be back in place of Spearing. Never change a winning team.
Walshy5 Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Was it a 4-3-3 aganist QPR or 4-4-2? for me it was difficult to tell at times because spearing was drifting in the middle alot and waggy seemed to be wide right at times
Tony Pine Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 dyer back in and n guessan in for howard. none of howards headers for waghorn actually work. edit: spearing in for the first time to set about the midfield..lloyd on second half to punish them, (plus i don't think he's 90 minutes fit yet)
foxer Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 dyer back in and n guessan in for howard. none of howards headers for waghorn actually work. Maybe not but he put on in the back of the net and his header to Kingy definitely worked out.
Tony Pine Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 i do realise that but the the pairing of the two seems to be based on the idea of waghorn feeding off knockdowns from howard. he doesn't seem to be able to direct them from long balls from the back. throw ins by the box and corners might be a different story. we actually look like a good team when we aren't hoofing it at him. scoring a goal in a 4-0 win hardly means an automatic start. he couldn't finish for shit against west brom
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Dyer is a 'definite absentee' according to the Mercury.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Dyer is out he said so when i see him at the training ground today solano is also out Spearing should start in the line up
goal-mangal Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Weale Morrs - Hobbs - Brows - Berns Sp - King - Wellens - Galls Hows - Wags
Bettsj2 Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Weale Morrs - Hobbs - Brows - Berns Sp - King - Wellens - Galls Hows - Wags I'd go with: - Weale Morrison Hobbs Brown Berner N'Guessen Spear Wells Adams Waghorn Howard Whilst we won the game 4-0 against QPR, we weren't particularly convincing in the 1st half. The above midfield gives us a good balance of pace, strength and workrate to hopefully overpower the Posh midfield and give Waghorn and Howard ample chances. Going with the disjointed midfield of Spearing on the right puts us at a disadvantage. I'd give King a break in this game as he tends to go missing in these kinds of game.
milan_foxes Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Dont change it. Im confused why everyone wants Spearing out, he did no wrong...
leicesterseddon Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Dont change it. Im confused why everyone wants Spearing out, he did no wrong... Agree, although it was hardly a captivating performance. Still better than Oakley though.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 I wouldn't change it unless Dyer's fit but I've got a feeling Captain Fantastic will be back in place of Spearing. Never change a winning team. Oakley was born in Peterborough so I bet he will want to face them. But I agree never change a winning team.
Rich Fox Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Spearing has energy and pace what exactly does oakley offer? he is no better on the wing that in midfield is he. People who say drop the lad and bring oakley back in must never look what players do off the ball because that is also important and spearing dragged QPR players around and gave wellens and king more time on the ball.
Mr Happy Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 I wouldn't change it unless Dyer's fit but I've got a feeling Captain Fantastic will be back in place of Spearing. Never change a winning team. Agreed. ' If it ain't broke don't fix it springs' to mind.
Dylan Posted 10 April 2010 Author Posted 10 April 2010 Oakley was born in Peterborough so I bet he will want to face them. But I agree never change a winning team. NP shouldn't care about if he wants to face them-he should want to play every game.
Richard Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 Seeing that Dyer out, same team please Nige. Although i can see Oakley coming in, Nige doesn't like to keep his skipper out the side for too long. Or maybe Dyer to do a Rooney and start?
