Craig Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 It's quite ironic and funny how things have come full circle. The 2 missing links from last seasons game at P'Boro, Howard and King missing through injury and suspension, were the 2 key players to the victory this time around. Win next week and the playoff place is in the bag, hopefully the players should relax for next week though, after this result and others going our way we can afford to draw to Watford now, this is no longer a must must win game, i hope this has a positive effect on the performance and not a negative one. And have Blackpool potentially 2 points behind us? With us having to go away to Preston and playing Boro on the final day? No thanks. Must win, must secure our spot as soon as possible.
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 For those who couldn't make this game, this is what you missed For those that were there, enjoy again
Sylvie85 Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 Masive, massive result, just keep focussed on the next game. 3 points against Watford and we can almost guarantee it. Would have to fancy us to beat them with there dismal away record but after 24 years of supporting city i know how difficult we like to make things. Come on boys!
marbelladave Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 My quip pertained to the summative report written by yourself not so long ago which was a little off the mark, (somewhat unusually I may add) subsequently you were asked if you were at the game. And no you were not - your summary came from the radio. Then you backtracked. I have not written a Posh Match Report - because I wasn't at the game. Actually as I recall I said upfront that my comments were taken from the radio but was criticised although I thought I had tried to keep my remarks of a 'general' nature. As I said the other day I could not get to the game yesterday for family reasons and the 'report' was a somewhat lame attempt at a piss take and I was totally surprised that anyone would have taken it at all seriously. As it turned out, despite being told my attendance was required on saturday, the womenfolk took themselves off shopping soon after lunch so it was Stringer on the laptop for me. Great result and our traveling support sounded amazing... :appl:
Shrenchel Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 For those who couldn't make this game, this is what you missed For those that were there, enjoy again Sound videos them. I'd play those cvnts every week.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 Just listening to Sportstim from yesterday on the I-Player, and the way John Sinclair commentated on King's goal was a joke. Like someone already said on here, it was like he had just scored an OG rather than put us in front.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 Sound videos them. I'd play those cvnts every week. Refering to thee videos, I take credit for the carnival de paris. .. Great away day easily the best atmosphere of the season. Carnage when we scored !
lavrentis Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 Great win, good atmosphere loved the When your smiling chants, seemed to be quite loud
Fosse Boy Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 For those who couldn't make this game, this is what you missed For those that were there, enjoy again Great work on them chap. at the bloke at the start of the second vid shouting "now score ya bastards!"
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 Great work on them chap. at the bloke at the start of the second vid shouting "now score ya bastards!" Cheers, I've watched that one a few times and I have a sneaking suspicion it's my Old Man Though had me in stitches all the same. Yesterday made me realise how much I've missed out on at Filbert Street. I was never old enough to go in the Kop, let alone when it was Pens 123 etc- usually went in the South Stand Upper. Oh how good it must have been!
Lillehamring Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 Now that I can get to a few games I post my 'reports' for other expats and for those unable to get to games. and most appreciated they are
sdb Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 i'm gonna be spending all week thinkin about Watford. We've gotta get the 3 points, otherwise it's squeaky bum time
Muzzy_no7 Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 i was there yesterday, good solid performance against a half-decent Peterbro side. Wasnt an exceptional performance but at this stage of the season only the points matter. Keep spearing in for Oakley he pulls the strings in midfield with Wellens and gives King the freedom he needs as an AMC.
lou Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 Yesterday was great; great result, great company, I would like to thank LCFC for the win, and everyone else I saw yesterday who contributed to a great day out (too many to name). Bonus is, I don't even have alcoholitis today!! Lucky you, I felt like shit when I got home and straight to bed with a bucket on the floor just in case Every time I think about booze today I gag Shit game on the whole but delighted with the win. No one played brilliantly Vaughan is clearly not fit and shouldnt be playing at all. He looked distraught after the final whistle and went straight down the tunnel after a hug from NP. Hes not shit, hes just not fit.
Bert Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 The only thing I thought was strange yesterday was why on earth were the punts being aimed at Waghorn when he was being marked by the biggest man on the pitch?
Edmund Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 In Pearson's post match interview he did praise CMS IIRC, said he was a handful and never gave the defence a second. Didn't think much of it really but I suppose he doesn't normally name players after games does he? Maybe there's something there I ono. I noticed that as well. Sounds like CMS has already signed a pre contract with us or a fee has been agreed with Peterborough for a move in the Summer.

Shrenchel Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 howard was suspended and king missed the game for international duty - neither was injured Thank god you cleared that up.

Salieri Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 we can afford to draw to Watford now, this is no longer a must must win game Utter bollocks. There's a good chance we won't get anything at Preston, do we really want it to go down to the wire and have to beat Middlesboro? Beat Watford and I don't think we will have to beat Middlesboro regardless of what happens at Deepdale.
foxaholic Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 I was talking to some Posh supporters before the game and they said 2 things always happen at home 1. If they score the other side scores within 5 minutes 2 Gate always underestimated by 2-3 thousand . Bearing in mind capacity is 16000 couldnt believe ground was just above half full most people I know who went thought gate consierablly higher wondered what other people thought

Disagree- 1) We still only have a 4 point gap, we lose next week and it could be down to 1 point with 2 to go. And Middlesborough will be tough- rather be going to that not caring about IF we play in the playoffs, but WHO we play. 2) Every match we should be looking to win as a football club, and not relaxing, whether already promoted/relegated, or fighting for a playoff place. No game from now till the end can we relax. 3) We can't be too complacent. We need to secure the playoff place, and keep up our form.
