MC Prussian Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 We've now officially and mathematically done it - we're in the playoffs and pushing for the third and last spot in the Premier League in 2010/2011. Yes, that's Leicester City Football Club. Won 1-0 away at Preston. Scrappy game, first half not worth the talk (apart from Gallagher's goal that wasn't given). Nevertheless, the lads in Blue and White gave a solid performance, kudos to the defense in particular. Morrison, Solano (as his replacement), Hobbs, Brown and Berner a brick wall against which Preston hardly ever found a recipe. Wasted a few good chances (Gallagher, Vaughan, Waghorn, Dyer and also N'Guessan towards the end), but "local lad" King secured all three points for us today and made it clear to everyone else around us in the league - we're a force to be reckoned with for the playoffs. Well done to all players and the massive 3'000 supporters that made it oop North!!! Must all be going crazy right now!!! TUT TUT!!!
Babylon Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Fantastic.... Andy King, the only thing Thracian has ever got right.
MikeyT Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Absolutely extatic. Been a whirlwind of a season and it still isn't over. Can't wait for the play offs. Could this be our year with a return to the Promised Land. Who knows, but it's been a hell of a ride so far this season. Well done to King with the goal today. Brilliant.
FoxyPV Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 King is a legend. Pearson is a legend. The fact that we even got to the playoffs this season is an amazing achievement - now we can push on and seal promotion.
Ozwin Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 What did they just say, season ticket holders next season get priority? Wtf, what about those of us who've been all this season?
Lillehamring Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 God Damn! This feels good. six pack of beer, stone roses playing loud, missus doing the hoovering and off to a cheap beer 70s party later.... great stuff!
BoneDog Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Over the moon! We're in the frickin play-offs again!!! The squad and staff are a bunch of heroes. This feeling is great and it's still not sunk in properly.
OLD norfox Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Football make me so happy I'm so proud on behalf of the club and now I'm going to get drunk
Foxhateram Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 What did they just say, season ticket holders next season get priority? Wtf, what about those of us who've been all this season? Yer next seasons ticket holders get priority, then this seasons, then those who have kept stumps of tickets from the last 4 games then general sale. Meaning i am not likely to get a ticket as i cant make it to many games, but then again i think those who go week in week out would be rewarded for their brilliant support this season. What a great day for our club! what a great two years for our club. NP is an absolute god! Fryatt to come back next week? then to score the winner vs Forest? You heard it here first!
Ozwin Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 They misread it thankfully. Current season ticket holders and next year's season ticket holders get priority thankfully.
Daggers Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 The birth-rate in Leicester might be spiking in 9 months time.
Narborough_fox Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Absoulty delighted never been able to witness the madness of Paly-Offs but he we go, chuffed to bits. Well done lads and especially Nige!

samjohnson Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Still waiting for it to sink in... This is fantastic vs Stoke 2 years ago, i thought that was it. But... :yahoo: :yahoo:   :bounce:   Nigel Pearson =
Tilley Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Tilley... Cracking performance wasn't it, great finish by King. On a serious note, what an achievement no matter what happens from here, Pearson and his players have done what we all thought was the unthinkable.
lcfc_jme Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 The stats had us down as being in control of the game, I don't think Preston even had a shot on target until the last 5 minutes. The monkey is off the back in terms of securing a playoff place, hopefully the boys go out and enjoy the party next weekend and take some confidence, momentum and a lot of the "feel-good-factor" around the place into the playoffs. Fantastic achievement, delighted with it!
Smudge Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Congratulations and many thanks to Nigel Pearson and his team of players and staff..............Smudge is off to celebrate with Gordon Biersch
