Just seen the highlights on the football league show. Hard to say if the disallowed goals should have stood - because they weren't bloody shown. :@

I know - ridiculous.

It was a pathetic showing. We're a team who have just achieved a Play Off berth against all the odds and all we merit is a 15 second 'highlight package' showing nothing but the goal and one missed chance.

Oh well, at least we can remain under the radar which is where we wanna be.

Piss poor highlights, and not alot mentioned afterwards either. A shame seen as we've just secured a play off spot having been promoted last year.

Hopefully they'll be shown in the extended highlights on the website on Monday.

fooking joke of a show it really is.

I'm all for being under the radar but we've reached the playoffs after coming up from League 1, that's a bloody good showing if you ask me. I swear because the main presenter is a Leicester fan he's not allowed to talk about Leicester much or something.

Bleh.

Never in my wildest dreams would of i hoped for this at the beginning of the season....

What pearson lacks in experience and tactical nous, he more than makes up for when it comes to some inspired signings, ect...

I love him. like, tons like...

Finally finished drinking.

What a day, this team has done us all proud

listening to nige's interview on RL yesterday evening - why when asked about the gally disallowed goal did he say "we'll have to se whether it stands".

It didn't stand and i'm sure the only thing that happens in a match and can be changed is resinding a red card. :dunno:

still, brilliant result. Bring on cardiff in the semis then blackpool/forest in the final.

And either way that final's gonna be a cracker, revenge on Hollowhead for sending us down or a derby match.

This.

Absolutely delighted with the results this season and to confirm 5th place with a game to spare is an outstanding achievement, just think where we were this time 2 years ago!

I have criticised Pearson's tactics on a number of occasions but I have also, many time, praised his strategic management skills that have completely turned our club around in just 2 years. As MPH says, a little bit more experience and 'tactical nous' and he will be up with the best.

He has maintained squad togetherness with seemingly consummate ease and his low profile approach to the media has kept us out of the glare of publicity and contributed hugely to our success. Bloody well done...

Had a fantastic day yesterday, thoroughly deserved victory with a superb finish to win it. Didn't think much of the ref however, but I'm not going to go on about it.

The manager and the team have been brilliant for the whole campaign, defying the odds to stay in the play-off mix from the first game. We have achieved already, irrespective of if we go up. We are a club to be proud of again, we have a good manager who we need to hold on to.

Looking forward to enjoying the last match next week and then the play-offs. Top stuff :scarf:

I assume that because are home leg will be on the Sunday (assuming we finish 5th) the return leg will be the Wednesday night game?

Yup.

Wayne Brown was immense yesterday. The ref was the biggest tosser in the world.

Can only echo what everyone else has said really.

The ref was a total cockshaft, but it didn't matter in the end.

Brown was rock solid at the back.

The atmosphere was superb.

Gallagher had a great game.

Spearing looks Premiership class and could be pivotal in the play-offs.

Dyer tore them a new arsehole.

Preston fans were silent, including the pre-pubescent chavs in the Invincibles Stand to our left.

Oh, and the bloke who went dressed as Jobber was hilarious.

Have I mentioned that I caught his shirt?

Just got back, great win to cap off a great season on the pitch. Fantastic achievment no matter what happens now.

As a team very solid and well deserved the win, the players celebrations at the end were brilliant also and told the whole story.

Attention now turns to the scramble for play-off tickets, something I'm not looking forward to.

Am I the only one sick to death of this ridiculous deification of Jobber? As far as I'm concerned, he's just another fan (albeit a very loyal one, but we've got plenty of those) who happens to be disgustingly fat and have an enormous tattoo on his back. Oh yeah, and he bangs a drum. The bloke has a blog on the Mercury website, I saw on the club website they had an interview with him about his facial hair. I'm sure he's a nice bloke but from what he writes he's clearly not the brain of Britain. Don't like how the club are now using him as some sort of unofficial mouthpiece for the fans

FAO anyone who was at the game - how did Waggy play? Heard (albeit from second hand reports of Stringer's commentary) that he had a bit of a shocker? Hoping he bags himself a goal on Sunday to give him a confidence boost before the playoffs if that was the case...

He wasn't brilliant and I actually think he's getting a bit tired. For a young lad, to play the amount of games he has this season is incredible and a good chunk of it leading the line on his own. I think it's tiredness rather than quality.

When we did score, I had to triple check he wasn't going to disallow that one too!!

Ball went in, initial celebration, quick glance at the ref, quick glance at the lino, explosion of celebration.

Wayne Brown was immense yesterday.

Actually thought it was his best game for City. Also liked the banter with the fans, when he thanked them for the man on call!

He don't know no more. I don't think he brings the attention on himself, that's just how he acts with his mates. How do you react when someone dresses up like you? Take it in the manner.

What the hell kind of post is that? Yeah I definitely think you are the only one.

Just seen the highlights on the Player, (much better than the shit ones on the FL Show).

Not sure why Gallagher's effort was disallowed. But what an effort that must have been to get that in from there! The camera wasnt on the ball when it was kicked, but after the ref seems to be pointing/gestruing towards the floor probably making up that it wasnt in the right place or something.

Vaughan's disallowed one was also a bit strange. He was putting pressure on the defender and must have clipped his heels as he just slid to on his knees, but I thought he went down very easily. By the highlights shown, the ref didnt have a good game.

Waghorn did miss a great chance. Not quite sure how he managed to really sky that, but it was a great move starting with Dyer's pace on the wing.

Lonergan pulled off a great save to stop Hobbs' overhead kick styled effort, that would have been a superb goal if that had gone in.

Anyway great win, and there was only on PNE highlight and that was a poor free kick so by the sounds of it they never looked like scoring. :scarf:
