purpleronnie Posted 14 January 2011 Posted 14 January 2011 There's plenty of older songs that give me goosebumps but there's nothing like hearing something new or something that you've never heard before and having that feeling, a recent song that did this to me was :- Cara Dillon with Sam Lakeman - Garden Valley
gazfox9 Posted 14 January 2011 Posted 14 January 2011 A personal one for me, Stereophonics- you're my star. Reminds me of when my son was born. Great lyrics.
MikeyT Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 3:40 to end Bloody love this one. Never heard of these before, but just youtubed a few other songs by them and they are awesome. So thank you.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 NIN - Something I Can Never Have
Trav Le Bleu Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 NIN - Something I Can Never Have Good call! NIN are a classic example of a band who never quite lived up to the expectations of their first album.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 Good call! NIN are a classic example of a band who never quite lived up to the expectations of their first album. I'd disagree, I think just about anything NIN have put out, I'd regard as a masterpiece. Each album, for me, offers something different, although Pretty Hate Machine is about perfect. I loved The Downward Spiral for it's intensity, The Fragile for it's scope, With Teeth for it's catchiness, and Year Zero for it's for being so technically tight and inventive. Each album has a distinctive sound. They were / are the complete band for me. I admire Reznor for not churning out the same record again, and again. I won't deny that Year Zero was a bit poor, content wise, but in terms of sound it was incredible. The other four, mind, are all on a par with each other in my opinion. All excellent.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 Have you heard any of How To Destroy Angels' stuff, MTWG? Trent's "side-project" with his wife. There's a free download 6-track EP that I'll post the link up if anyone's interested.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 Yep, heard a fair bit of it. What I have had a listen to sounded fairly decent, can't help but feel it's a vehicle for his wife, though.
Jay Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 just about anything Mark Lanegan sings on like these two...

ajthefox Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 Can't really recall many songs that actually give me goosebumps to be honest. Hurt by Johnny Cash does, but thats a pretty special song. This is a song I love and it was even better at this particular gig but as I said, no goosebumps as such.

ajthefox Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Love that last song to bits, actually gave me shivers.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGrUVHqt2mE I know it's Feeder, and they're gash, but this song is still as immense as the first time I heard it on Gran Turismo 3.
StanSP Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 That reminds me of It's Only Us, by Robbie Williams, for FIFA 2000. Some great memories playing that
Kitchandro Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Speaking of FIFA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLx-QHYH0Kk 98. My first ever playstation game, with the best soundtrack ever
