Koke Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Karim Benzema and Samir Nasri left out of the France squad Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato left out of the Brazil squad Gabriel Milito, Esteban Cambiasso and Javier Zanetti left out of the Argentina squad [key members of the Inter team that reached the European Cup final]. If you know other surprise excluded players, list them.
Edmund Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Benzema and Nasri being left out is criminal, even if Benzema hasn't featured a great deal this season. Maradona is also crazy leaving that trio out considering Zanetti had Messi in his pocket over the two legs in the CL semi finals. Instead he's opted for Coloccini and Guitierrez. I also read the Italian manager Lippi is being questioned for not including Miccoli, Cassano, Totti and Balotelli. I can understand Balotelli being left out as he's had his personal problems with Inter but he's a great talent and I saw the goal he score last weekend which was top class.
dandannieldanok Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Maradona is a fruit for leaving out Cambiasso. Seriously what is he thinking, Cambiasso would walk into pretty much any team in the world (in my opinion anyway).
Edmund Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Don't think Diego is going for Brazil either. Quality player, didn't he suffer a long term injury or am I making that up? Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink
Mikey Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Van Nistelrooy. Would walk into the England squad. Ronaldinho and Pato not going is unbelievable. Cambiasso not going is stupid.
The Doctor Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Van Nistelrooy. Would walk into the England squad. Ronaldinho and Pato not going is unbelievable. Cambiasso not going is stupid. not sure about that - his career has really fallen by the wayside since '06
dandannieldanok Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Choe Chol-Man has not made the North Korea squad. 9 goals, 19 caps.
Edmund Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Van Nistelrooy. Van the man has been crocked for too long plus he's 34 this summer. Huntelaar, Babel, Kuyt and Van Persie are the better options. They even have Robben and Elia who can fill the void up front if necessary.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Pato isn't that much of a shock, really, Dunga has said that he has given players like him and Ronaldinho their chances and they haven't taken them.
shen Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 Pato isn't that much of a shock, really, Dunga has said that he has given players like him and Ronaldinho their chances and they haven't taken them. What about Diego?
CosbehFox Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 The inter argentine players are missing due to Champions League Final and having an extended rest. The same applies to Demchelis (sp?).
Fosse Fox Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 Adriano hasn't made the Brazil squad either. Their midfield is creaking and their attack looks positively mediocre. I might be speaking too soon but I am beginning to get the vibe that they are sitting 2010 out. After all, they are hosting 2014. I wonder if Sepp has asked Dunga not to be too greedy and 'spread the love'. Should be a good omen for England but unfortunately I think it will be others that will take advantage. We might be looking at a first time winner - Spain (though I'm not as convinced as some) Holland or Portugal maybe. If not England, I'd love it to be an African side. On paper these sides look really strong but African teams always underperform in the World Cup. At best though continental advantage might smooth Cote d'Ivoire''s or Cameroon's passage to the semi finals.
Hitesh Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 Can't beleive those Argentina players that have been left out!
AyewJoking Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 What are the odds on Maradona to be sacked during the tournament?
Tommeh Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 Brazil have Ronaldinho, Pato and Diego missing out and we have Downing, Young and Zamora going close Different planet.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Very excited that Ballack has been ruled out of the cup! We may only lose 3-nil now.
Bugg Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Kevin Prince Boateng ending Michael Ballack's World Cup Dream. LAD
dandannieldanok Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Shame for Ballack, probably would have been his last world cup unless Germany are really struggling for midfielders come 2014. I still expect Germany to do well though.
lou Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Personally think its a shame any big name players wont be there..... its supposed to the the Creme de la Creme. I want to see the worlds best competing against eachother
MC Prussian Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Here's to Germany not winning the World Cup title, then.
