Fosse Boy Posted 10 August 2010 Author Posted 10 August 2010 how did it go tonight? or was this not an official night out? No presence tonight due to a few key lads being unable to make it (I was working, as were a couple of others). Shame as we would've liked to have done something really. Gearing ourselves for Saturday now though.
Maybes Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Barclay will never get L1 sitting and he knows it. Him and his bootboys are all chat. It's always 'next season' or 'next few games' that the crackdown will apparently begin. Hardly needs meticulous planning to get on your radio and tell 15 cvnts in shiny coats to ask some people to sit down. Will never change regardless of what the Fosse Boys get up to, for years and years people in the kop have been moaning at stewards that L1 are all allowed to stand freely. Exactly.
Ozwin Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Gotta get tickets for Saturday, will pop down on Thursday. This'll be my first game with the FB so be gentle with me.

Getting everyone to sit in L1 is like Robbie Neilson out-pacing Theo Walcott. You'll never see it
foss1884 Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 I got this email this morning from the Leicester Mercury: Hi, Sorry I've not been in touch sooner. We've got two correspondents, David Bevan and Gary Silke, referring to the Fosse Boys in this week's editions and I'm planning to give you a call early next week for a more significant feature. Best wishes I managed to delay the story for one week then, but with two correspondents on the case, they are taking the matter seriously. They clearly want a story and i have said to get photographers on the Fosse Boys this weekend and they will no doubt then follow up the efforst at the Boro' game with a significant article on the group. The fact that the Sports Editor is getting in touch shows that they are interested. This weekend needs to be immense. Remember if anybody wants to let me know of contact details of anyone for a phone interview next week, let me know please!! Cheers.
foss1884 Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 This is a further email i received from the Leicester Mercury: Thanks for that and I'll raise the sponsorship issue, but very tight budgets here I suggested to the sports editor that we give substantial coverage tomorrow and there is a picture included with the piece written by Gary Silke so it should help your cause, I hope. It is all looking good.
andy_croydz Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 I have gotta say that so far... You lads are behaving well. (Everyones forgot my outburst a few weeks ago... Haven't they? ) You did well at Palace, no trouble and kept the chants going. So far so good.

easilee Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Gary Silke deserves a for his Ultras article in the Merc today. Broke it down nice and simple and in a positive light.
foss1884 Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Gary Silke deserves a for his Ultras article in the Merc today. Broke it down nice and simple and in a positive light. This is just the start. They want a substantial and significant article next week on the group. It is all looking rosy. I want balloons, streamers and confetti now for the money shot on Saturday!
Guest Mee-9 Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 "Defeat in the opening game places even more importance on Saturday's meeting with Middlesbrough and it seems that City might have a bit of extra encouragement from the stands."A group of young City fans centred round the FoxesTalk messageboard have spent the summer organising themselves into a new supporters group based on the 'Ultras' who fanatically follow clubs throughout Europe. "The Ultras (loosely translated as 'super fans') movement began in Italy in the 1970s, inspired by the scarf-waving and singing and chanting of British fans.'' What do you make of City's start under new manager Paulo Sousa? Post a comment or e-mail [email protected] For full story see today's Leicester Mercury. Bit of advertisement for Foxestalk too!
purpleronnie Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Anyone have a link to the story in the Merc?
CheshireFox Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Anyone have a link to the story in the Merc? seconded- please can someone post link or paste content into here for those of us not in the mercury zone?
foss1884 Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 I apologise if there are any inaccuracies in the article. Having just read it, it is entirely based on my email to the Mercury last week. .
foss1884 Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 You need to buy the newspaper for the full story, excellent headline and photograph.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 People should buy the Mercury more often. There's loads of good stuff in there on City that they don't put online. There was a series on the O'Neill years a few months back that was excellent, and didn't even get a mention on here. Similarly, they ran a 'where are they now?' piece a couple of weeks ago on some of the old youth team lads that didn't quite make the grade that was really interesting too

I remember reading it and I live in London!
Carter The Boss Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 I've been using Foxestalk for a year or so now, but not ever written much. This is BRILLIANT I've requested to join the Facebook group, what else can I do? I travel up from London for games and was thinking about getting a season ticket for this year, but don't know anyone that goes to games. Appreciate any help Ta
purpleronnie Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 You need to buy the newspaper for the full story, excellent headline and photograph. Not sure they print it in Houston . But I'm back in england on sunday so hopefully I'll be able to pick one up.

I think someone might have put part of it up a while after it was actually in the paper, because I remember thinking that I'd read it ages before, and I'm sure it wasn't mentioned on the days it was published. It was a much bigger article than ever gets on the Bluearmy site. You can't blame them for holding some of the content back though, no-one would buy the bloody thing ever. I might be the only one!

Would take time to organise, cost etc. The boys are doing a fantastic job organising it all but they can only do so much at a time

Would take time to organise, cost etc. The boys are doing a fantastic job organising it all but they can only do so much at a time True, i fully appreciate that and so does the Mercury. The banner, some hand-held flags and balloons would be enough really. Tearing up several newspapers is a cheap idea-just take bags of them for effect! I am trying to get the Mercury to sponsor a card display or see if the Club will fund it. It would be great to have one of these for the Forest or Derby game in The Kop.

I have great faith in the organisers so I am sure Saturday will be quality.
