Fosse Boys - Leicester City Ultras

Yes.

My ironing pile is bigger than Edgar Davids, and has more chance of being at The Walkers (albeit after I have ironed it and put it on. But with the Birch allegedly going, it could be an alternative form of half time entertainment!)

Reduce your ironing by using my tried and tested method. Have a shower. Get dry, but not completely dry, then put on un-ironed shirt. Warm, dampness from your own skin miraculously "irons" shirt while you wear it. May not pass for a wedding, but good enough for most occasions!

Or, I could send all my sheets and pillow cases to the Fosse Boys to convert into flags, rather than ironing them? (Not sure that the mrs irons the pillow cases to be fair)

Surely comments like the above won't exactly do you any good will it?

You got criticised in previous posts for ''telling people to fu*k off''. Who is it your business to tell anyone to **** off? Putting out the message that you are big enough to ''deal'' with anyone who want's to play football factories isn't great for your brand of a squeaky clean non-ultra/hooligan group is it.

i would advise you are perhaps a bit more selective with the way you put across points in order to not be criticised like you have in countless posts before..

Surely a windup.

Shouting Racist abuse at me or racism in general?

if someone was being racist to one of my mates then I would probably have a word, I would use ''**** off'' as my opener though. Meeting agression with agression rarely ends in peace does it, surely even you realise that?

If someone was being generally racist towards someone I didn't know then I would honestly probably just leave it.

If it was inside the ground then a steward would pick up on it and they woulod be ejected I assume. more fool them if they want to be racist in a public environment like a football stadium, shows what little brain cells those kind of people have.

Obviously not. I multi-quoted this as I was reading and the general consensus that this guy has no idea was reached so I need not say more.

Absolute bullsh!t.

I have 2 mixed race cousins and a mixed race girlfrind so you you can take that back straight away.

You just assume because I'm not the racism police I support or tolerate racism? You complete cvnt

L o l @ having a mixed race girlfriend = not being a racist ffs. Well done mate. Also, calling someone a cvnt...meeting aggression with aggression rarely ends in peace does it, surely even you realise that.

i don't think the ultra movement in england will ever be quite the same as it is other countries - i'm sure if you look at the groups in, say, scandinavia, they have a different approach to places like italy or turkey.

i would hate to think that english ultra groups would just try to be a carbon copy of any other group of ultra's - we have our own culture and history to draw from and also, with our dodgier past, to distance ourselves from.

i'm sure the 'miniklanen' is not especially ultra as they are all still at junior school, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't work or shouldn't be applauded.

hopefully, one day the 'fosse boys' will just be a collective term for a kop full of singing bouncing fans, rather than some niche 'ultra' group.

Hopefully they become something different than just a collective of singing, bouncing fans IMO. You can still connect with the past without bringing back the 'negative' aspects that are 'unwanted'.

I agree though that the Fosse Boys shouldn't try to be a carbon copy of say, Italian ultra groups. And I don't think they will because even at this early stage there is evidence of a clear culture mash-up which I think is a good sign. If you look at J-League games (Japan), some of those teams have great support but they try so so hard to be like Italian ultras (banners in Italian ffs) that they themselves have no real identity (other than being ridiculously organised to a point where it is monotonous).

Not really sure how many more times this discussion is going to go round in circles. So far most people agree on the following:

1) the atmosphere at Walkers Stadium is shit - and it's not like is was in the old days at Filbo

2) some like minded individuals have got together to try and make a noise and some colourful displays

3) as long as this is not restricting anyones view of the match (which they say it won't) then this should help improve point 1 - to everybody's benefit - even those who do not want to jump/sing/wave flags etc

4) Fosse Boys had a relatively successful first outing, despite some bad press from RL and a bit of ill thought out PR on here (the blanked out faces on the photo)

5) They do not appear to be racists or want to go round smashing peoples heads in and stealing candy floss from children

6) They also appear to be learning early lessons about not trying to antagonise people, the media and the club

The biggest worry really is that it will only take one idiot to misbehave or act like a complete dick and everyone will come down on them like a tonne of shit and insist that they are just a bunch of hell raising thugs after all....but this is an issue for their own group to manage IF and when it were to happen.

I also fail to see how the man who wants to go to a game and not shout and sing is going to have a negative experience because some other lads want to make a noise? It''s a football ground for christs sake - they did use to be quite noisy and boisterous places. And I'm not convinced how many people do want to go to the match and not at least witness boisterous/rowdy/raucous behavior, even if they do not wish to directly participate in it.

I've been to dozens of games where the crowd offer much more enertainment than the actual match.

I don't think the they should worry about 'not antagonizing' the media or the club. If they deserve it, they deserve it. In saying that, I'm unaware of the limitations and restrictions implemented in England however look forward to finding them out when I'm over there soon (Leeds and Swansea away). Also, it's good that they have no intention of going around smashing peoples heads in etc (duh) but they should at least be ready for it (re. banner stealing discussion).

WC, you will generally be appauled with the restrictions placed on us over here. No Flagpoles or standing!

Nothing like the comparitive freedom you guys have!

I can only imagine. It's a little different down here though (as you said), I could go on forever however I may save that for another day.

''I agree though that the Fosse Boys shouldn't try to be a carbon copy of say, Italian ultra groups. ''

I agree, I expect the Fosse Boys to be the Leicester City Ultras taking ideas from other Ultra groups from other countries (and established groups in this one) and developing them to give us a clear identity. The younger members of the group have a lot of passion and ideas to make this work. They intention to work with the club already shows they have no desire to return to the bad old days, and indeed, some of them are not old enough to remember how bad it was. If they were I am sure they would be appauled by it and comdemn it like any real football fan would.

The age of the football hooligan is over. The age of the passionate Ultra is just begining.

NO AL CALCIO MODERNO.

Hi guys,

Derby fan here, I posted on here a while ago when I was trying to get our big flag into the Walkers...

Anyways, I am also the co-founder of the Derby "Barmy Army". We have this season managed to move into a seperate area of the ground which for us is a great move as the people that have moved all want to sing etc. We were setup back last season, for the same reasons that you guys have setup!!

Just wanted to say good luck with the project and should you want to meet up anytime to discuss please feel free to PM me on here.

Derby's giant flag is very impressive and since they started that movement the atmosphere in the ground has improved. You guys should contact this guy for hints and tips.

Valid.

If I ever fancy advice on how to lift songs successfully and have a cringeworthy name I'll drop 'em a line though.

Perhaps you need to listen to what he has to say as they may well have come up against obstacles blocking your path and may actually be able to assist you in overcoming them.

Arrogance is the quickest way to a downfall.

Just a thought....

Yeah appreciate it, but what you have is a singing section with a terrible name who shamelessly nick other team's chants, not an Ultras group. That's not what we want.

Yeah it's not what you personally want but doesn't make them 'a joke' does it. Theyve got a a few homemade flags, nick some of their songs from other English clubs and have a shit name. You have a few homemade flags, nick some of your songs from European clubs and have a slightly less shit name.

I totally support you boys but the fact is what with getting the club to make a few concessions for them, the Derby lot have acheived more than you thus far. Just makes you look like mugs to claim that you're all just about improving the atmosphere in football and then have a pop at other lads trying (and succeeding) at doing the same.
