James. Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Yeah it's not what you personally want but doesn't make them 'a joke' does it. Theyve got a a few homemade flags, nick some of their songs from other English clubs and have a shit name. You have a few homemade flags, nick some of your songs from European clubs and have a slightly less shit name. I totally support you boys but the fact is what with getting the club to make a few concessions for them, the Derby lot have acheived more than you thus far. Just makes you look like mugs to claim that you're all just about improving the atmosphere in football and then have a pop at other lads trying (and succeeding) at doing the same. Bang on. Public arrogance at such an early stage won't endear you to the rest of the fans or the club. And you'll need the support of both if you're to build on your good start.

davieG Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Good points well made. These are the points many have been making all through this topic only for it to be interpreted as anti-Fosse Boys. I can't recall anyone who doesn't hope they are successful.
Floating Fox Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Yes fair play to them all they are doing is trying to improve the atmosphere, but in my opinion, going about it the wrong way. Thanks for the offer of advice though
therams69 Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 No problem guys... What you have to remember is that with your ground you will not be able to create an Ultra group. Palace get away with it due to their ground being old and less rules on flags, standing etc where as PPS and the Walkers you cannot get away with it. If Palace moved to a new ground the Ultra scene for them would be dead!!! We realised this early on and decided not to try and create an Ultra scene, simply not possible with a new ground. We have worked around it to the best we can and created something similar to what you could call an Ultra group but within the strict guidelines our club impose. You may not get everyones support at first, we certainly didnt, however, things have changed and we have big support for our group now. Its all about change I guess, changing the dynamics of a matchday with singing can be an annoying thing to fans but if you get enough starting it off things will follow.

Celtics a new redeveloped ground and they have the best group in britain.
Fosse Boy Posted 5 August 2010 Author Posted 5 August 2010 Anyway ramsfan69 I'd like to direct you to the Fosse Boys site if you fancy continuing this conversation... http://fosseboys.webs.com/apps/forums/
Houdini Logic Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 What's wrong with continuing the conversation on here? I was actually interested in what he had to say
poopbutt Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 the fosse boys should just post updates on what they're doing and what's happened e.g. pics etc. not bother arguing with wind up merchants.
Tommy G Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 What's wrong with continuing the conversation on here? I was actually interested in what he had to say Because the sheep fan is probably talking sense but the Fosse Girls don't want to hear the truth and seem to dismiss anything he has to say. Not that he's been there and done it or anything...

Not that he's been there and done it or anything... !! Love being referred to as a sheep :-) I would like to think I am talking sense, we were once at this stage some time ago so know all to well the problems you will be encountering... Just wanted to offer you advice should you want it, you may not but am happy to answer questions on here or via PM like I already have...
mancunianfox Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Whether you like their group/songs/flags or not anyone with experience dealing with clubs on issues like yours is worth listening to. You should probably get a few league games under your belts before belittling other groups. I think you will probably be way better than Derby's group but you probably don't want to be slagging them off just because they aren't doing it your way.
Stand UP... Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Dont forget, Fosse Boys on BBC Radio Leicester tomorrow morning.
haraven Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Dont forget, Fosse Boys on BBC Radio Leicester tomorrow morning. Post link of interview please (for the lassies and lads that don't get BBC Radio Leicester)

Narborough_fox Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 1.20pm in houston. <_< What time is the Fosse Boys interview on?
Lillehamring Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Just wanted to offer you advice should you want it, you may not but am happy to answer questions on here or via PM like I already have... all well and good, and i'm sure any input is welcome, but.... No problem guys... If Palace moved to a new ground the Ultra scene for them would be dead!!! We realised this early on and decided not to try and create an Ultra scene, simply not possible with a new ground. it sounds like you've not really excelled in overcoming the difficulties - i personally don't buy this stuff about the grounds, in many ways modern stadia should make such groups much more viable. i'm sure the fosse boys are not going to adopt this attitude - it sounds like the barmy army have quit a bit early--- there's no reason why stadia can't be made to accommodate such organisations, in fact these kinds of supporters groups should thrive in modern stadia. a classic example is Malmo FF in sweden, a brand new stadium where they have a dedicated standing area, which can also be fitted with seats for eufa/fifa events where seating is necessary... (prepare to droll, arab ) anyway, not trolling just a little debate,

(prepare to droll, arab ) anyway, not trolling just a little debate, We have our own area, reserved for us, be under no illusion though, no club is going to allow a standing area to accomodate such fans as us, not in this country. A shame but there you go. Was saying to someone earlier today, if they ripped out the lower tier behind a goal and put terracing it would be mint!! Dont think that you will get what you want, the safety manager has guidelines etc from the fire service, police, councils etc - getting certain things passed will be a challenge but good luck to you in pushing for what you can!

OK, Celtic and Malmo may well have Ultra groups but the one thing they have in common which sets them apart from us - they don't play in England and are therefore do not have to comply with our strict H&S laws regarding what can and can't be done in stadia. So I think our ovine friend has a point - one which the Fosse Boys will come up against sooner or later.
