Stand UP... Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Delighted with all who turned up and got what we were about. Having old skool Kop-heads applaud us at the end just shows how receptive fans of this club are to what we're doing. Even the stewards, who were initially hostile, were sound and let us be. Delighted with how today turned out. Amazing how we all get criticised for wanting an atmosphere in the stadium but we had great support today from real supporters in the kop...so many people coming up to us shaking hands for what we are doing and amazed that we stood and sang so loud for so long. A great day
leftsideoverhere Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 My lad decided he wanted us to be in our 'usual seats' today so we were in SK3 and I must say from there, the Fosse Boys looked good all game, although we were a little too far away to be able to hear their chants. It also seemed to me that there was more sound out of that side of the kop than there usually is, which suggests that the presence of the Fosse Boys lifted the voices of those around them too, which is a bonus. Extra stewards were drafted in to walk the gangways in SK3 today bullying us to sit down midway through the first half. The chaps who usually stand behind us were missing, and a couple had bought 'day tickets' for those seats and were unhappy about standing, so reluctantly I sat down once the stewards asked nicely. To his credit, the steward I spoke to (Hi Greg!) agreed that it was double standards, as they never even try to make the away fans sit down, and he suggested we complain to the club about it. I can't see that doing much good, but the more groups around the stadium who stand up and sing, the more the stewards will have to accept that it's a losing battle for them. Watching the Chelsea game this evening, it's evident that in large parts of Stamford Bridge the fans stand all game. If it's good enough for them in the premier league, it ought to be good enough for the Walkers Stadium, but what do I know?
Unabomber Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Looked like you were having a good laugh and were at it all game. Couldn't hear you at all until around the 80 minute mark, but was because there a bit of an atmosphere in the Kop at time. Good effot and glad to hear other fans nearby were so receptive of it all.
Wymsey Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Don't know where you actually sit but were you Fosse Boys lot in the corner of the Kop opposite the police boxes? You all sounded superb all match
1964FOX Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Today was good and as others have said I was delighted with the support our fellow fans gave us when the stewards came to ask to sit down. once they saw the reaction to trying to make us sit down was several hundred others singing stand up if you love Leicester they gave up. In fairness all the stewards we spoke to said they were not bothered about us standing as we were in nobody's way. It aS a big help that there were two other small groups standing as well and by the end of the match is was so good to see nearly all the kop standing.
Karljohn Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Saw the Fosse Boys today as I sit in SK2, good effort lads, you could do with a few more voices but fair play to you for having a go, heard you singing Viva Leicester around 75 minutes in.
ozleicester Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Congrats to the Fosse Boys, could hear you all game (SK2).. you guys did a great job during some quiet moments. My next visit i will be right there with you.

Yep, we wanted to prove to other fans that we will be singing traditional Leicester songs just as much, ifnot more so than our new songs. Think it went well today. As you say, we could do with a few more voices, so I hope today illustrates to people that we aren't there to cause trouble or friction between fans. Hopefully it will encourage people to come over, say hi, and get involved. All welcome.

Donut Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 I was in SK1 today and your noise was fantastic The walkers stadium can be a real library at times and what you guys are trying to do is great Especially singing stuff like viva leicester and just generally getting some atmosphere going The fosse boys will grow, especially on the road fook the stewards
AndyBrew Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 He went crazy when you did that backs to the pitch thing. I missed this charmer
Ozwin Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 '****ing watch the game you pricks!!!!!' *spits on floor* I swear he spent more time watching you than watching the game. He kept moving seats, he only came near me towards the end of the game so I missed out on some other gems.

CosbehFox Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 The fosse boys will grow, especially on the road No need IMO. Away support has been rather good for a while. Your attitude and behaviour was super today. I'll be honest and I got the feeling at Sunderland game that the group was already developing cliquey with the whispering noises etc. You kept going and for a higher percentage than normal it got the Kop going. If you keep working, you'll get the Kop on your side with a pocket for ultra antics such as flags and banners. Keep it up. The numbers will come by 'word of mouth' or attraction if you keep it up. Did a great job in keeping the club staff as well on your side today.
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Could see you but couldn't hear a thing from where I was sat in the North Stand. Keep it up and I'm sure that'll change.

Great to hear so much positivity and genuinely can't wait to get back to Leicester and become a part of this, it seems to be going fantastically well.

Valid, we have no intentions of doing anything serious away from home (apart from getting a few more lads on the same train to away games) we are concentrating on the home atmopshere I was really pleased by how the kop took to us today, had so many old school kopites coming up to us shaking our hands after the game, and clapping us when they were leaving aslong as the club/stewards don't do anything seriously drastic then we will continue to grow
carterfox90 Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 keep it up you were great to see today & NEVER SIT DOWN the stewards were just bein stupid you were trying to get the atmosphere going which you did well done :appl: :appl:

Salieri Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 I was only listening via the radio/internet stream but i could hear you boys singing loud and clear. There seems to be more interest and acceptance developing which can only be a good thing as this will equate to more noise and a better atmosphere due to (hopefully) an increase in members/participation. Keep it up.
Bugg Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 http://www.fansonline.net/leicestercity/mb/view.php?id=228164 This comment made me smile Got some fookin energy to keep that goin all game, must be the drugs.
