RizLCFC Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 First Walshy and now Claridge criticising Kermit. Well he's most likely still going to be a Leicester player next year so let's get behind him unless we want to see the same next year. The guy has found it hard settling in here but hopefully he will be fresh and ready next season, he needs our support! What's happened has happened with him it still kills me everytime I think about it but let's try and move on. And for Claridge to criticise him so heavily after saying Cardiff deserve to go through, they look stronger, the right team won, well then don't go criticising our Leicester City players, so long as Kermit is a fox and he tries hard he will get my full support.
GLC Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 Leicester legend slams incredibly disrespectful Kermorgant? how is Yann being disrespectful?
Ike O'Noclassed Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 Good old Stevie. If the arsehole had shinned it we'd have been playing at Wembley tomorrow.
dandannieldanok Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 The whole episode should be dropped now, he missed, Waghorn missed, we lost, end of. It was stupid penalty and he'll have to shoulder the responsibility. He shouldn't be totally castigated for it, and nor should he be defended as fiercely as some people have been doing. If he stays I'll get behind him no more or no less than any other City player. What more is there to say about him and this bloody penalty that hasn't already been said.
Guest NGoloMode Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 Good old Stevie. If the arsehole had shinned it we'd have been playing at Wembley tomorrow. I thought Waghorn missed too.
jonthefox Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 lets just get over it ffs. next season yann will pay us back im sure.
Guest ttfn Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 Steve Claridge is just trying to justify his ludicrous position as the BBC's football league pundit with some populist comment. Fact is, playing for more clubs than anybody else doesn't mean he knows more about football and as a broadcaster I find him pretty fooking hopeless. His attempt at hosting 6-0-6 the other day was a total disaster, and he seems to have just as little knowledge of the lower leagues as everyone else, and all the knowledge he has is based on his playing days and the 20 seconds of coverage each team gets on the Football League Show. As many others have said, get behind Kermorgant. I'm sure he feels just as terrible about it as the rest of us.

Agree with that totally. It's over now, we need to just get on and focus on next season.
Corky Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 He missed it, it's done now. We've got to pick ourselves up and come back again, Yann included.
Bettsj2 Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 I do wish Steve Walsh would shut his ****ing mouth and Claridge has no business mouthing off either. Both are completely soiling their reputations as legends by spouting this crap about Yann. For a player that has struggled so much this season both on the pitch and on a personal level, for Yann to even step up to take a penalty let alone try what he tried showed that he has larger balls than both messers Claridge and Walsh put together. Yann is not the greatest player to have ever pulled on a Leicester Shirt but he is by no means the worst. I for one think he has enough talent to make a decent championship player and hopefully his private life will settle down enough for him to purely concentrate on playing next year. Oh did I mention that I wish Walshy and Claridge would **** off?
orangecity23 Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 I find it a bit odd that people (including Claridge) are saying they find it hard to believe Yann will come back next season at Leicester. The guy managed to overcome Leukemia, I think he'll be able to cobble together the mental strength to cope with missing one penalty.
CosbehFox Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 . His attempt at hosting 6-0-6 the other day was a total disaster, I heard that hopeless. Considering what tricks the pair of them got up to as footballers, it's rather ironic calling Yann 'disrespectful'.
cambridgefox Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 I hope he has a blinder next season. Whoever plays for LEICESTER get behind them. They do play for OUR club, and if we are on there backs it only affects OUR team! Up the foxes!
flanimal Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 I heard that stuff Claridge said, and I thought he was a moron. Saying what Yann did was 'unforgivable'. He stood up in what was probably the most tense match in his career, and put his neck on the line for his team. He came through leukemia, he had to fight for the chance to be a footballer, I would be insanely pleased if Kermorgant scores many outrageous goals next season and makes Claridge eat his words like a turd slushie. Oh yeah, there is a Facebook group called Stand By Our Yann to show you support him!
foxoffderby Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 Let them say their peace the've earned it. Both Walsh and Claridge are legends. Like or not they do care for the club especially Walsh. I hope Yann has a blinder too next season, I think he will come good.
Legend_in_blue Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 We'll look back at this in a year and smile. It's irrelevant now. Next season automatic is on. There's no need for play-off shenanigans.
Salieri Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 We'll look back at this in a year and smile. It's irrelevant now. Next season automatic is on. There's no need for play-off shenanigans. This sort of over-confidence worries me and seems prevalent in a good majority of our fans in anticipation of next season. I'm optimistic of course, and think we have a good chance of repeating the 'success' of this season but at the same time am fully aware of how far we've come in a short space of time. I do hope that our fans remain grounded and if we don't achieve the dizzy heights that seem expected, then we won't have a backlash against Nige and the lads. I want stability, and as much as i'd love us to go up next season, i wouldn't see a mid table finish as a disaster. Pearson has earnt the right to time to develop, and anything but a relegation scrap next term should allow him that. As for Kermogant (and the relevance of the thread!), next season is a clean slate an while he is still our player, we should back him 100%, i still think he could have a lot to offer.
Tommeh Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 Walshies comments are fair enough, he cares about the club. These days he's just a passionate fan like the rest of us, no status involved inhis content but obviously with his reputation his comments are published and analysed much more than folk on here. Claridge on the other hand is now nothing more than a media happy pundit who couldn't really give two shites about the club in my opinion.Shame he's gone down that path really. Anyway, what's done is done. Yann is our player we must support and back him. that song about him is a total embarrasment and any fans booing him next season will get a nice polite fvck off from me. Walshie is still a legend and huge fan and Claridge for me is just another pundit.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 The difference is Clardige gets paid for his views, Walsh has a blog on a local site. Do people really expect Claridge to think 'oh i'm a legend there' before making comments as a pundit, when it's his job. I doubt if he'd made the same comments about a Cardiff player trying to chip it in people would be wetting their knickers about it on here. Mark Bright made comments on co-commentary for the BBC slating Yann, and i've heard some pretty derogatory things that have been said by other pundits, apparently Don Goodman wasn't too kind about him as well. What difference does it make? They're just stating what they think. I really don't think any player or member of staff at the club will take any notice. Claridge is a crap pundit on FLS, seems to struggle with what he wants to say. On radio he is absolutely brilliant though, try listening to him on 5Live, stick to the radio Steve. Move the feck on for god sake, What's done is done and what's said has been said. I think it's pretty moronic if people's opinion of Claridge has changed just for expressing his opinion, for which he is paid to do, and is, in addition, in no way connected to this club via the payroll or in any director capacity, other than being a 'club great.'

Agree with all of your post apart from the song which was brilliant and was really well written, kermorgant will have to just take that on the chin and move on. I think most fans who love that song will cheer him next season and I think he could be good for us he has a good pass good in the air and will improve.
Jimmy Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 next season, Yann Kermorgant will be Fryatt's main striker partner and you'll see a better version of the Howard/Fryatt of 08/09 (I hope)
