DB11 Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Romanus Eunt Domus??? I'd be curious to understand the psychology behind this behaviour. I can only imagine, in this case, that it's born out of "getting back" at society or infamy, albeit anonymous. My condolences to all those who's memorials have been desecrated. Perhaps very drunk and didn't realise what it was? Either way, the perpetrators are scum!
AoWW Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Perhaps very drunk and didn't realise what it was? Either way, the perpetrators are scum! I've been very, very drunk at times - but I'm 100% certain I'd always have been able to figure out what a memorial garden is. Being drunk is no excuse for these c*nts.

Being drunk is no excuse for these c*nts. There was that story about that guy who got incredibly drunk and peed on a War Memorial. He was completely blind drunk. He was pretty remorseful afterwards if I remember right.
Tilley Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Absolutely unbelievable. I know there is alot of utter cunts in this world but Christ almighty, you've got to be scum of the earth to vandalise a memorial garden. As Fi says, no matter how drunk you are, nobody in their right mind would do anything like this, no excuses for them. Hope the damage isn't too severe to the memorials and hopefully the individuals responsible are caught and prosecuted.
Smudge Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 I'm amazed that there's nothing about it in the online Mercury
Asha Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Absolute twats. Unbelievable lack of respect. Fucking Cunts, I'll shit on their graves if someone kills them (hopefully). And this comment is fucking ridiculous. That would make you a 'fucking cunt' too then sir? Their behaviour is appalling, but they don't deserve to die because of it.
Unit Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 There was that story about that guy who got incredibly drunk and peed on a War Memorial. He was completely blind drunk. He was pretty remorseful afterwards if I remember right. Mainly because half the british army wanted him dead. Whoever has done this is a massive ****, do city not have CCTV there?
Daggers Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 I am incredulous. How come Brown isn't being blamed for this as well? Come on ignorants of Leicestershire: step up to the plate and declare you stupidity in this thread too.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 And this comment is fucking ridiculous. That would make you a 'fucking cunt' too then sir? Their behaviour is appalling, but they don't deserve to die because of it. Yeah, and I'm sure he was being serious, in fact he's off to murder each culprit and lay a turd on their graves right now. Christ.
Guest Bilo Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Utter scummy lowlife cuntrags. There really are some shitty wankers in this world aren't there?
AmericanScott Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 This has deeply upset me. We put my dad's ashes there i always stop by to say hello before matches. I can't tell my mom about this as it'll make her cry. I'm very pissed off and i feel for the other families who have also had their loved ones remembered in that beautiful garden. Absolute twats. Unbelievable lack of respect. And this comment is fucking ridiculous. That would make you a 'fucking cunt' too then sir? Their behaviour is appalling, but they don't deserve to die because of it. This comment is fooking ridiculous. We don't need scum like them. If someone trashes a memorial garden where you had a family member remembered at wouldn't you be wanting the ****er's heads? I know i am!! Or would you just invite them round for tea and biscuits and call it day.
carterfox90 Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 lowest form of scum on our earth i suppose their mummys took their playstations off them & they had to take it out on a memorial garden shows what a sick world we live in nowadays
poopbutt Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 the mentality of people that do this stuff to memorials/graves is beyond my comprehension.

Do we know their motives for their actions? Sure, they could just be fooking mentalists and rightfully condemned, but not to death. Jeez. Or they could be mentally ill and have little control over their behaviour? Of course a lot of emotion will be attached to such a story, especially for those who have memorials for relatives in the memorial garden - and as someone who doesn't I have no real right to my opinion on how such people should react - but I just feel 'wanting them dead' is a touch extreme.
Zingari Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 The only thing that's surprising/shocking about this is the fact that people are still surprised/ shocked by these sorts of actions in Britain 2010

What possible motives could excuse their actions, though? Presumably this wasn't done by just one person, and I find it hard to believe the 'coincidence' of a convenient gathering of the mentally ill. Anyway, I'm fast tiring of the whole 'mentally ill' excuse - seems to me that people can get away with pretty much anything nowadays on the grounds of 'mental health issues' which, let's face it, I'm sure with the right provocation most of us could claim if the situation warranted it.
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 We have a placquard for my Grandpa who passed away a few years ago, so this is very upsetting, hoping that my Grandma doesn't get to see this as see'll be distraught. Can't quite put into words what I would do to the lot who did this.
acooling08 Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 If they're caught nothing will happen which is part of the problem. No deterrent really. Although it does take a fooked up mind to do such a thing.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 This is about as low as anyone can get. Those involved should be publicly flogged!
davieG Posted 5 June 2010 Author Posted 5 June 2010 From the Merc Vandals went on a wrecking spree at a memorial garden. Five youths, aged between 13 and 16-years-old, uprooted flowers and trees and tossed mud against plaques at theWalkers Stadium remembrance garden, in Filbert Way, Leicester. They were chased off by stadium security staff at about 9pm on Thursday, but not before causing damage to commemorative stones and flowers. The garden was set up five years ago to allow football fans to remember their loved ones. One of its founders, Leicester City legend Alan Birchenall, said: "It's the lowest of the low. These idiots must have sat there and planned this, because you have to go out of your way to get there – it's not as if they just stumbled across it. "There are hundreds of memorials down there, including a bench dedicated to my mother, so I know how families are going to react. "These people are mindless morons and we have the CCTV footage to prove it. "It's disgusting, and if it wasn't for the security guard, who knows what they would have ended up doing." Pat Griffin, the remembrance garden co-ordinator, said: "It's not the cost which bothers us, it's the upset. What have they gained from it? Have they never had close family pass away? "The garden is a lovely place where people come for solitude and to remember loved ones – it makes me angry to think that vandals could do this to such a special place." After being approached by the Walkers Stadium security guard, four of the vandals escaped on bikes and one on foot. The youths were filmed on CCTV which was passed to the police. Officers said that they would be visiting schools in the area to try to identify them. Four of the suspects are described as African-Caribbean, of slim build and with short black hair. They are all aged between 13 and 16. There is no description of the fifth youth. Sgt Angela Massey, from Welford Road police station, said: "This is a despicable act of damage which is totally disrespectful to families whose loved ones are remembered by the garden. "Officers are currently viewing CCTV footage to identify those responsible. I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward."
Narborough_fox Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 Absolutely disgraceful I hope all involved are caught and that anyone involved with the memorial garden has had nothing damaged. SCUM.
milan_foxes Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 I may visit to see if any of my Great-Grandad's things have been touched.
