stripeyfox Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 SSN Reports: Rio Ferdinand out of the World Cup. BBC also reporting Ferdinand out. Dawson to take his place. Gerrard to take up captaincy.
BoneDog Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Gutted for Drogba. What a fricking stupid challenge in a friendly at this moment in time. Flying knee to the arm and you ruin someones chance of going to the World Cup. Idiot
Leicester Rule! Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 So ironic that perhaps the biggest feigner of injuries in the world actually does pick up an injury one week before the WC. Couldnt write it! Serves him right!
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Pirlo damages his calf, may miss Italy's opener.
Head Honcho Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 1 Rio Ferdinand leaves hospital on crutches after injuring left knee in training 2 Didier Drogba breaks right arm - Fractured Elbow whilst playing for Ivory Coast v Japan Call up for Maxi then
shen Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Sørensen, Bendtner and Kjær all doubts for Denmark's opener against the Dutch. None of them will feature in tomorrow's friendly against South Africa according to Olsen.
AyewJoking Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 Major blow losing Rio however could be a blessing in disguise as I feel he hasnt been 100% fit for some time and I dont think we'd have seen the best of him at the World cup. Said on the radio Dawson would play in Rio's place so Capello essentially picked Carragher as cover whereas Dawson who would have been a starter, initially got the axe.
AyewJoking Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 As for Drogba, a crippling blow for any slim hopes Ivory Coast had and a real shame we dont get to see Drogba on the biggest stage in what will most likely be his last chance. Love or hate him, he's easily one of the best strikers in the game.

shen Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 Kin g and Upson miss training Obi Mikel out of the World Cup. All according to Sky Seriously, is there some kind of Chelsea curse? Ballack, Drogba, Essien, Obi Mikel... I wonder what the bookmakers' odds are on Kalou missing the Cup

davieG Posted 8 June 2010 Posted 8 June 2010 "The ball came in from one of the lads to Emile, I'd gone to try and tackle him from behind - he didn't actually see me coming - we both went off balance and Emile's weight went down on my knee. http://www.skysports.com/football/world-cup-2010/story/0,27032,12016_6196609,00.html What's he doing tackling someone from behind and in a training session to boot, intelligent football from our captain.
