Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 Argies deservedly ahead, but they dont look too convincing at the back.
BlueSi13 Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 Hmm this game is pretty deceptive for me, its been NOTHING but Argentina, but have they really created many straight up chances despite Nigeria's questionable defence Where are all the goals going to come from?
BlueSi13 Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 Also getting sick of almost every commentator i hear jizzing himself over the "incredible atmosphere", doing nothing put painting yourself and blowing a shit 2.99 plastic horn for 90 minutes is simply NOT atmosphere in my opinion
Fox You Forest Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 That lad on the left wing for Nigeria really need to release the ball earlier, I'm sitting here shouting at the TV, two good positions he's wasted now.
ScouseFox Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 Got a feeling we could be seeing more of this Nigerian goalkeeper next year.

MC Prussian Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 Now that was a terrible game. I expected much more from Argentina and they quickly lost my love for them. They scored the only goal and then retreated to occasional, unspectacular attacks, mostly depending on the genius that is Messi. Their defense is not as solid as I thought it'd be and Maradona plays a cowardly game on the pitch - towards the end, the Argies showed no real desire to score a second, instead pushed the ball back and forth, wasting time and that was it. They were there for the taking. If they continue to play with this kind of style, they won't make it far, especially should the midfield maestro get injured or be declared not fit to play. Nigeria could've and should've nicked three points.
purpleronnie Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 They did exacty what they needed to wi,n teams like argentina raise their game when needed.
Narborough_fox Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 What a Keeper for Nigeria am in admiration of him and feel he could maybe single handedly carry nigeria through to the knockout stages.
Ozwin Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 Enyeama beasting it up, blatantly because of the advice I gave him on FM.

They were there for the taking. If they continue to play with this kind of style, they won't make it far. That was without doubt the best game so far, in my opinion! Plenty of good chances for both teams, and Messi could and maybe should have had a hattrick. And to say they depend on Messi is insulting to the rest of the team. Yes, he's their outstanding star, but who scored the goal? They're technically great in nearly every position, even Gutierrez looked OK when he was moved to the left. Basically, your assessment is very harsh to say the least. They could and should've had the game dead and buried at the start of the second half at latest... Nigeria were slightly disappointing even if I didn't expect them to match the Argies. I was impressed by Haruna though. Just 19 years old and already the heartbeat in the Nigerian engine room. We'll see a lot more of him in the future that's for sure!
Jonezy Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 That was a decent game. Enyeama living up to his FM heroics in real life by denying Messi on multiple occasions. Argies are good going forward but very fragile at the back - how is Jonas rightback and Zanetti not even in the squad, Diego? Should be entertaining following Argentina further into this tournament.

Must be a love affair! I thought Otamendi was the bright new star, who can also play at right back? Odd that a left winger can start ahead of him, but Diego doesn't exactly surprise me anymore...

Have we heard a decent chant yet? Have we heard anything yet except "hornnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn".
MC Prussian Posted 13 June 2010 Posted 13 June 2010 From the BBC WC2010 live ticker homepage: 09:30Some breaking news - Fifa has asked officials at Johannesburg's Ellis Park Stadium to investigate after a supporter allegedly pointed a laser pen towards various players and Diego Maradona in Argentina's 1-0 win over Nigeria on Saturday. http://news.bbc.co.u..._06/default.stm
shen Posted 13 June 2010 Posted 13 June 2010 From the BBC WC2010 live ticker homepage: http://news.bbc.co.u..._06/default.stm Yeah noticed that. I think there was a red laser pointer pointing at the scorer of the first South Korean goal. Looked like it at least
