BoneDog Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Wheeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Hoof Very happy with this result It's a tough group to predict top 2 now
Bugg Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Webb obviously got the five minutes from the same place he always gets them. Fergie needs to reset his watch, it's always 5 minutes slow.
davieG Posted 16 June 2010 Author Posted 16 June 2010 Wrong tactics hoof, kick and rush would have got them a draw.
Guest Bilo Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 The Brazil v Spain last 16 meeting may be on. Unless the dangerous Chileans can heap on a bit of humiliation for our racist Spanish friends. Fair play to Switzerland, well organised, solid if unspectacular and frustrated Spain all day long. They showed no little class either and Derdioyok was hideously unlucky not to make it 2-0. Group H is now well and truly wide open.
The Doctor Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Yes but it's only the Switz that's killing it. this is pretty much true. In every match i've seen so far the underdogs have put all bar a striker behind the ball, sat back and defended before hoofing it long and hoping it sticks. This swiss victory will only serve to make that style more appealing meaning even the more creative attacking teams (Brazil, Argentina etc) will play more conservative football reducing this world cup to less of a spectacle than it already is.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Watched the second half and really enjoyed it. Well to the Swiss!
BoneDog Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Would 2 draws be enough for Switzerland now? I've tried to work it out and I think that 2 draws would be better than 1 win and 1 defeat and guarantee 2nd round (presuming Spain beat Honduras)
Chairman of the Bored Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Was it just me or were the BBC piping crowd noise during the game to drown out the vuvuzelas? If you listened carefully, there were "oohs and aghs" during times of the game when there was lull in the action. Did anyone else notice that? I missed the first 20 mins so not sure if anything was said. Good result though. Shame Bruno isn't in the squad, would have been great for him.
dandannieldanok Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Brazil vs Spain in the last 16 now a huge possibility.
ScouseFox Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 It was probably gonna be Spain v Portugal/Brazil anyway, both of which will be massive games.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Spain vs Portugal sounds good, with them being close to each other and rivals! Doubt its quite as big as us vs Scotland but still!
Jonezy Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Thats how to do it Denmark. Well done to the Swiss for a great smash and grab!
z-layrex Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Yay for the Swiss!! BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
