Leicester City holding talks with two possible new signings

Leicester City's head of recruitment, Steve Walsh, has revealed the club are in talks with two possible new recruits.

The players are both free agents but Walsh said the club would guard their identities to avoid losing out on their targets.

Walsh, a senior assistant to manager Nigel Pearson, said there could be one or two comings and goings at the Walkers Stadium this summer.

"I am negotiating at the moment with one or two and I would like to think that they can come in and strengthen the squad," he said.

"You have to think of it like a jigsaw puzzle, as some players come in others will go.

"It is important we keep the information in-house as much as possible.

City have signed one player so far this summer, left-back Tom Kennedy on a free transfer from Rochdale, and Walsh believes the 24-year-old left back will become an important player for City.

"I have been tracking Tom for quite some time and saw him play for Rochdale on quite a few occasions last season," he said.

"He is only 24 and has great potential. He uses the ball very well and has great delivery. He has a sweet left peg and he has come in to put pressure on the other players and try to get into the first team.

"So far he is untried at Championship level so he will have to step up to the plate, but I feel he has the potential to do so.

"There were one or two other teams interested in Tom but, when we came to call and spoke to him, he made his mind up.

"He was in the PFA League Two team for the last two years and that is no mean achievement because that is voted for by the other players in the league.

"He is very much in the Jack Hobbs mould. He is very professional and very fit. He wants to do well and buys into all the sports science, and I think he will be a very good acquisition for Leicester City."

I see from the PFA list that Kerea Gilbert is available on a free. I wonder if he may be one of those targets.

Also Marlon Harewood. Lives in Leicestershire too. Ooh the anticipation....

I been very impressed with Steve Walsh since his arrival. He seems very knowlegable and seems to have a lot contacts within the game. The majority of signings hes been involved in seem to have come off.

Belletti and Koren ;)

Hardly likely to be Koren as he is at the World Cup.

Hopefully it is some completely unknown young players who turn out to be amazing
