maddog Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Any views on GIan Franco Zola? Zola forgot about him. Maybe a bit of flair into the side but like Southgate too nice.
BoneDog Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Would people take Ince? I know his stock has dipped a bit since his time at Macclesfield / his first stint at MK Dons, I'd still rather have him than Dowie I think. I'd defo take Ince above some others I've been hearing about. I've got respect for Ince since I met him outside some backsteet bookies in Liverpool, probably not the best reason to judge him but I like the man!
Matt Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Pearson, Just fuck off now. Hull, Just announce the fucker so we can actually move on and work towards getting a new manager sorted.
SMX11 Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Pearson, Just **** off now. Hull, Just announce the ****er so we can actually move on and work towards getting a new manager sorted. Yes I'm sick of this topic. 1) Mowbray 2) Sousa 3) O'Driscoll These are the only people I would consider out of the commonly mentioned replacements.
FoxyPV Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Announcement on Wednesday Sorry if this has already been posted
Fox in a Box Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Everyone is banging on about him, not my cup of tea. Wouldnt be bothered either way, but if you said keep someone at all costs it would be 'Steve Walsh' who has a track record of finding little gems. Nigel thanks for the memories, hope you fail elsewhere. If you stay then your going to have to earn the right to be a part of the LCFC family.
marbelladave Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Zola & Clarke, Mowbray or Sousa. Clarke for me, would not be that expensive either. Worked under Mourinho and Zola at Chelsea and West Ham respectively. Instant credibility...
CupidStunt Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 What about Glenn Roeder? I used this line in another thread, and i am going to use it again.............. I would rather suck on a dead dogs dick than have Glen Roeder as our manager No thanks, he aint for us Tony Mowbray, not too disappointed with Southgate either
Libertine Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 I used this line in another thread, and i am going to use it again.............. I would rather suck on a dead dogs dick than have Glen Roeder as our manager No thanks, he aint for us Tony Mowbray, not too disappointed with Southgate either Wasn't funny then either. But yeh, he's shit. Zola can GTFO as well tbh, not for me. Would be pretty satisfied with Clarkey boy.
The Doctor Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 where's steve coppell at now? Might be worth a shout.
Bugg Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 where's steve coppell at now? Might be worth a shout. He went to Bristol City at the end of last season.
Alexikokopops Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 where's steve coppell at now? Might be worth a shout. Moved to Bristol City in April.
CupidStunt Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Wasn't funny then either. But yeh, he's shit. Zola can GTFO as well tbh, not for me. Would be pretty satisfied with Clarkey boy. Weren't asking for opinions whether it was funny or not
Yojoe36 Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Shame. Steve walsh set to follow in pearsons footsteps. Yes he's going hull aswel
superfox1980 Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 From what I've heard NP has got major problems with Hoos not MM. The issues started a while back and they've never seen eye to eye..................................MM is apparently doing everything he can to keep NP.
Ozwin Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Everyone is banging on about him, not my cup of tea. The fact he's been talking with Hull says it all, he's made his mind up. I thought he was more loyal to be honest. Obviously we don't know the ins and outs (I reckon it's like the Curbishly saga where the chairman were sticking their noses into transfers and the manager was having none of it) so I'll hold my judgement for now, I'm just dissapointed that after a great season last year - where he really created a team full of winners - he decides to jump ship to a team no better than ours. It's just gutting, so so gutting.
MattyFromLE Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Its ok Ozwin... Soon as MM get another guy in [please don't be Dowie] we'll spank Hull at the Walkers, and have 25k City fans all singing "Are you watching Pearson!"
pooleyLCFC Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 That or expected mediocrity or struggle. The bloke would struggle to manage a piss up in a pub the ugly bast*rd
Number 6 Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Just found this article. Particularly interested by: Pearson, 46, will not have any money to buy players at the KC Stadium, but he has been promised cash to pay the wages of anyone he can attract on loan or on free transfers. Could obviously be all bollocks, but it's relevent bollocks.
Guest Bilo Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Just found this article. Particularly interested by: Could obviously be all bollocks, but it's relevent bollocks. If true, that's good to read. It means we won't lose our main players to Hull as they won't be able to afford the transfer fees.
pooleyLCFC Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 I'd love Zola. Id imagine his wages will be too high for us
speckledjim Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 To continue to keep you up to date, this appeared in our Hull paper today tuesday = "The Mail understands City's willingness to allow Pearson to bring his backroom team of Steve Walsh and Craig Shakespeare was a crucial part of the deal. And, as revealed by the Mail yesterday, a pledge to find funds to allow their new manager to add some new faces was also a factor. Pearson was yesterday completing negotiations which will see him finally confirmed as the new Tigers' boss later today. A press conference is expected to be held tomorrow (Wednesday) to officially announce his arrival. His decision to quit the Foxes – a team he led out of League One and to a fifth place Championship finish last season – has shocked many. But sources point to a frustrated manager who felt unsupported in the transfer market, and feared budget cuts both on playing staff and his backroom team." Artcle goes on to say c£350k agreed compen figure. Google Sportshull. So as I said on here, we all thought it was admin for us, but Some wanted a CVA. That was within the last 2 months. Suddenly we are splashing the money about. Promises are cheap. Nobody tells the truth these days. But it looks to us that NP was pissed off with Leics so found the move a no brainer. Please, please dont accuse him of being disloyal - that is not an issue. That's it. See yous this season. Hope you do well and we lose the London clubs. An easy 6 points for us.
speckledjim Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 I know what you mean about Pearson. I have doubted him sometimes but he moved us forward as a club no end in a short time, whatever his shortcomings may be, so I worry that whoever comes in will be a let down. I like the idea of Steve Clarke coming here. Weren't we linked with him a few years ago? I seem to remember being gutted with him not coming when he was a Chelsea coach. I hear nothing but good things about him so would be very happy if we manage to sign him up. Ask the Toon fans about Clarke. Not a hit with them. His heart is said to be in London. Chelsea loved him as a coach, but Jeez, anybody could coach that expensive class lot, even me - and with Jose at the helm too. So how did he do at WHam ? Uuuummm.
