richardsfoxes Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 I want Mowbray tbh, he knows what it takes to do well in the championship. We wont have to pay a compensation deal, perhaps it would increase our chances with Koren and maybe there is potencial to buy Koumas with DJ money and Pearson compensation money, who knows. I just want this mess fixed within the next week, so we have a manager and Milan can tell us what his intensions are.
Malinki Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Beeb sport pretty much confirming the Pearson move this morning Beeb Sport
1964FOX Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Official statement from MM. "When NIgel told me he was going to see the TIgers I thought he meant he was going to join me on safari...... shit!"
The Doctor Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 well 9 AM on monday and according to the sources provided so far it's as close to happening as it was on friday night. Surely that's a good sign?
CupidStunt Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Iain Dowie? Thats a joke. It is, but MM has always had a soft spot for him as for NP going to Hull, that's more of a surprise than England getting knocked out the world cup, and that's saying something If he chooses to go to Hull, then he isn't the manager i thought he was, what a complete tit
Collymore Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 well 9 AM on monday and according to the sources provided so far it's as close to happening as it was on friday night. Surely that's a good sign? No offence mate, when the Daily Mail, Sky, BBC etc are all saying that it's going to happen, it's going to happen. They're probably still trying to agree compensation.
Jon the Hat Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 This is ridiculous. Milan should put his hand in his pocket and buy Buy BUY! Give Pearson what he wants! It worked for Hull! And Portsmouth! Ignore your accountant Milan, you can borrow it all, no need to actually pay for anything, the creditors can pick up the tab afterwards. There are loads of exceptionally brilliant players who find themselves over 30 and inexplicably out of contract just waiting to come to City, plus some over 35 who want to retire really because their legs have gone but cannot resist a payday. Seriously though, we clearly need to just keep buying players because it is so much more profitable to buy and then sell and so on rather than actually taking the players we have and coaching them to become better players. Old fashioned that. Who needs to actually develop players? If not England, than certainly not Leicester. I want to see an influx of Slovakian and Slovenian players who might just be the next big thing.
Fox92 Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 If he chooses to go to Hull, then he isn't the manager i thought he was, what a complete tit Agreed. He hasn't completed the job yet, he has us on the edge of the Premiership wtih a promosing team. MoN took Leicester as far as he could, where as Pearson hasn't completed his job yet. Its digraceful - he just can't leave us all, we've all broke our bank balance to buy season tickets! As for Hull, why? He could at least wait for the Fulham job if Hodgson leaves... I cannot believe this.
AyewJoking Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 I know how much Leicester City means to you people, ,so it's painful to say this, but I think this is the beginning of the end for Leicester City. It's not just about Nigel Pearson leaving. It's about why he is choosing to leave Leicester and go to a place where the Hull chairman himself calls the finances a 'complete mess'. Well, what does that say about Leicester? We all know Milan has less money than he says he does. Hull are in a terrible state but City are even worse. Calm down dear, a step backwards maybe but hardly the end of the world.
Katy Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 How depressing. We must be in some serious crap if he want's to go to (on paper) even crappier Hull. I just wish the club was more transparent, there's so much going on there that we don't have the first clue about and it's clear that Nige is not happy if he's prepared to go the first club who shows interest. Bloody Hull.
davieG Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 From today's Merc - looks like it's set to drag on. Nigel Pearson's reign as Leicester City manager appears to be over today. There are strong reports the 46-year-old will be named Hull City's new manager this week and quit the Walkers Stadium. Sources said the relationship between Pearson and the club's owner Milan Mandaric had become strained over issues such as transfer deal failures and fears of budget cuts. The news adds more misery to the thousands of fans already devastated by England's World Cup exit at the hands of Germany yesterday. No-one at Leicester City or Hull has officially confirmed or denied the speculation about Pearson but sources say he is definitely on his way to Humberside The City manager was due to hold further talks with Hull today to finalise his personal terms before being unveiled as Phil Brown's successor this week. He is set to take assistants Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh – the club's head of recruitment – with him to the KC Stadium. Well-known Leicester fan Lee Jobber, 30, from Braunstone, said: "I just can't see where the method is in the madness. "If he had gone to Fulham or another low to middling Premiership club I would have said fair enough. "But he's not progressing going to Hull. "It's so frustrating – it seems like we've had two years of stability and now it's gone pear-shaped. If he takes the backroom staff that will be a massive blow." Reports have said the two clubs agreed on a compensation fee of £350,000 on Friday after Hull made a formal approach, although one source said City want about £500,000. It will come as a devastating blow to fans who saw the club reborn under Pearson. He arrived after City's relegation to League One in 2008, steadying the ship before leading them to the league title. He then took City to the play-offs in their first campaign back in the Championship. Sources say Pearson's relationship with owner Milan Mandaric and the City hierarchy deteriorated to the extent he may have felt his position had become untenable. Pearson was apparently frustrated a number of transfer deals fell through, including deals to bring Tom Cleverley to City for a second loan spell and a move last season for former Birmingham City centre back Martin Taylor. He was also unhappy that DJ Campbell was allowed to join promotion rivals Blackpool on loan in January when he would have preferred the striker rejoin Derby County for a second loan spell. Pearson had one year left on his City contract but it is understood discussions over a new deal were not productive. He wanted new deals for his assistants and assurances of his playing budgets but negotiations broke down. With the club's debt at about £26 million, it has embarked on a cost-cutting exercise and stepped up efforts to identify potential investors. The Mercury has learned the club is in serious talks with an investment group. No one at Leicester City was available to comment.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 28 June 2010 Author Posted 28 June 2010 Iain Dowie? Thats a joke. the minute i knew pearson was on his way out i immediatley thought, shit iain dowie. he has wanted the leicester job around 3 times now and thank god he hasnt ever got it. all the other managers who are currently out of work like tony mowberry, alan curbishley etc will want guarteed money to spend, milan cant offer that and that is why i thing dowie will get the job. i can imagine him telling milan, who has a soft spot for him anyway that he doesnt need money and that he can get the best out of the players blah blah, i hope not tthough, he has got about every club he's managed relegatged.
jimmer Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 and stepped up efforts to identify potential investors is there any further news on this?
davieG Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 is there any further news on this? Don't you think it would be in that report if there was

Jon the Hat Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 We will miss Steve Walsh and his scouting network more than Pearson I suspect.
Fosse Boy Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 We will miss Steve Walsh and his scouting network more than Pearson I suspect. A very good point. Finds like Morrison and Weale may not be such a regular occurrence in future.
CosbehFox Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 That's part of the problem I have been informed today. Cleverley and Darren Gibson were ready to sign in season long deals last season but the block was put on and Fergie pulled it. Pearson wanted Simon Cox, Cox was happy to sign but £1.6 million fee and his average wage demands were blocked. Martin Taylor is another example where wages meant Watford fresh out of money problems signed him. Pearson has messed around by Mandaric when it comes to transfers. People will say there isn't any money but surely given the success in 90% of his signings, Pearson expected a certain amount of trust. My annoyance with Pearson is that the departure appears a slur on our current players that he doesn't believe they are good enough. He's also walking away from the Campbell, Brown and Kermorgant problems.
Fox92 Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 We will miss Steve Walsh and his scouting network more than Pearson I suspect. Exactly what I said the other day. Walsh has proved he is essential, having found some of the most important, upcoming and fantastic players for the club.
