Collymore Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 We will miss Steve Walsh and his scouting network more than Pearson I suspect. I was thinking the same too. It was only a couple of weeks a go when the club released an article saying Walsh and his contacts were such an asset. It's a shame Gerry isn't at the club anymore either.
Babylon Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 That's part of the problem I have been informed today. Informed or read it on the sunderland forum earlier like I did? It all ties in with stuff we heard from KIA and other sources regarding players they thought were done deals and botched signings like the Cleverly one.
CosbehFox Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Probably the same source Babylon eventually through a couple of folk. The Cox part is pretty much knowledge and the Taylor deal easy to detect off the quotes from Brum and Taylor. Given that we signed Kennedy two weeks ago and NP was quoted plus Steve Walsh comments about signing two players, I personally reckon MM and NP clashed over a signing very recently, it probably carried a transfer fee and MM didn't want it. Last straw for Pearson....agent gets to work and Hull find a manager with a release clause in his contract.
breadandcheese Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 We will miss Steve Walsh and his scouting network more than Pearson I suspect. I worry more that whoever we get in is not as professional in their approach as Pearson and his team. You only have to look at the emphasis put on the scientific aspects of training and body development, that has allowed some of our young players to improve no end. If we have someone come in who doesn't share this same development philosophy, it as at that point we may see one or two players looking to leave so they can be at a club which will help improve them. It's no coincidence that big clubs trusted us with their young players when loaning them out. In fact, our set-up last season was better than some top premier clubs and this is shown with loan players coming here, picking up niggly injuries and strains in the first few weeks (James Vaughan, Waggy, McGivern) as their bodies had not been properly conditioned or looked after by their parent clubs. A few weeks after training with us, the injuries and strains are down as they've been properly trained and looked after.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 According to Stringer on Twitter NP is staying. Heard from Lee Hoos who doesn't sound too pleased. http://twitter.com/IanStringerBBC
look_back_in_amber Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 I still think Pearson is going nowhere. You're still in the denial stage mate, as other posters have said if there was nothing in it LCFC would have come out and said so
Newcastle_Fox Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 IanStringerBBC LCFC chief exec Lee Hoos told me, in person this morning, Nigel Pearson remaining in charge of The Foxes "that's not entirely my decision" http://twitter.com/IanStringerBBC Only remaining in charge at the moment I guess.
Babylon Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 According to Stringer on Twitter NP is staying. Heard from Lee Hoos who doesn't sound too pleased. I think your interpretation maybe incorrect. It says Nigel Pearson staying in charge of us is "not entirely my decision". Does that not mean it's not Hoo's decision?!?!?
dandannieldanok Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 According to Stringer on Twitter NP is staying. Heard from Lee Hoos who doesn't sound too pleased. http://twitter.com/IanStringerBBC You've misinterpreted it, Hoos is simply saying it's not his decision whether Pearson stays or goes.

Does that not mean it's not Hoo's decision?!?!? Not too sure what you mean. Are you saying it is up to someone else or that the decision is down to NP? I suppose it could be read quite a few different ways thinking about it.
look_back_in_amber Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 For the one hundred millionth time... It's about more than just wages. We do not have the money to provide the budget he wants. I've told you a billion times not to exagerate
Edmund Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 He was also unhappy that DJ Campbell was allowed to join promotion rivals Blackpool on loan in January when he would have preferred the striker rejoin Derby County for a second loan spell. What did I say at the time. I knew Pearson was smarter than that.
Babylon Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 I've told you a billion times not to exagerate One billion and one!!!!!
Edmund Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 According to Stringer on Twitter NP is staying. Heard from Lee Hoos who doesn't sound too pleased. http://twitter.com/IanStringerBBC The way I read it is he's still in charge at this current time but is inevitably leaving and Hoos saying not "my decision"
Babylon Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Not too sure what you mean. Are you saying it is up to someone else or that the decision is down to NP? I suppose it could be read quite a few different ways thinking about it. Well Hoos is only the CEO. Whether he stays is down to MM and Pearson. He is just saying it's not up to him (Hoos).
CosbehFox Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Basically agreeing compensation then. That decision is Mandaric's.
MikeyT Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 I actually cannot believe some of the comments under the article by our fans, what is wrong with people, seriously?? http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/news/End-era-City-boss-Pearson-set-leave/article-2351942-detail/article.html

jonw88 Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 If he goes, then Curbishley or Mowbray please. Just hope Dowie stays well away from us or we are proper buggered.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Anyone seen the back of todays Mercury, Theres some right jokers they think might take over from Pearson.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 IanStringerBBC Just spoke to Milan Mandarich "I'm working tirelessly to keep Nigel Pearson at LCFC, the decision is his and only his, I fear it's too late"
Finchy Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Anyone seen the back of todays Mercury, Theres some right jokers they think might take over from Pearson. That article scared me, I just can't get my head around why so many dreadful, failed managers are rumoured. Coleman, Dowie, Ince, Southgate? It's depressing if that's the best we can get.

Finchy Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Im amazed to read Mandaric is still trying to keep him, I thought it was past that.
